- This is our Group Reaction & Review to A SILENT VOICE. In this movie A deaf girl, Shoko, is bullied by the popular Shoya. As Shoya continues to bully Shoko, the class turns its back on him. Shoko transfers and Shoya grows up as an outcast. Alone and depressed, the regretful Shoya finds Shoko to make amends.

@@AkinReacts i KNOW thats actually crazy to be able to hurt yourself like that. and i'm saying this as someone who was an emo teen LMAO the amount of force that would take is insane but also shes an amazing person for being that willing to sacrifice to atone and also to be willing to hold herself even more accountable than her son- which sets a great example for him because once he sees her ear he's like "oh. SHIT. I did that." and thats the biggest catalyst for his change besides the bullying
was it in the manga? because in the movie they didn't actually reveal who did it. But it would make sense to assume that it was her mother, since it would explain why she asked to go elsewhere and to live Ishida behind

This movie is amazing! Loved the reaction! I recommend reading the manga because there's more after this. It explores Nishimiya's past, including her father, mother, and sister. It also delves into topics like their future lives and the implications of these two accepting their feelings for each other❤

Great reaction to the movie! I love this movie so much and the message that it has. I haven't seen it yet in the comments so I thought it would be good to add more context to the scene where Shoko say that she loves Ishida on the bridge after giving him the present. The moon (tsuki) and the phrase I love you (suki) have very similar pronunciations in Japanese and given Shoko's speech impediment this was what caused Ishida to misunderstand what was being said.
