      If the terrorist is using “it’s us versus your people” to justify killing, then empathy and moral character is useless.
      I don’t think the kids deserved to die. It was also hard to tell if he’d really have said anything if he doubled down, but it didn’t change the fact that HE put that ultimatum down himself.
      To give kindness to someone who disassociates himself from those he had harmed… is just cruelty to those who could potentially die. This is AFTER he screwed Brody over with misinformation the first time.
      Karma is not justice, and those kids dying would have been suffering from karma if he didn’t ask for it.
      H would’ve had a better chance of saving those people if they allowed him to carry out the karma the terrorist had sown.

It took my daughter to actually point out and convince ME....that the 19 th ammendment needs to be undone and woman need to stay out of "mens" buisiness. Yes, as usual there ARE exceptions...but its definitely NOT the rule that woman need be in any buisiness like this. I do not believe in subjugation of woman, but we aint generally wired like men. @Anthony-df2ez 2 місяці тому

      I mean it's just the 2 lives of future terrorists in exchange for millions of Innocents, so I'd easily take that. It's stated in the movie and this video that he had enough material to make a 4th so it was an easy assumption that there was a 4th one.

    • @BilZ-g9z
      @BilZ-g9z 2 місяці тому

      @Anthony-df2ez You are making the assumption that undesirables will only breed undesirables. That line of thinking has been the foundation of a huge amount of cruelty throughout history. For example, what Nazi Germany did to the Jewish people.
      The other assumption of the 4th bomb may or may not be true. There was no certainty.
      The whole point is that both possibilities could be true: 1) sacrifice 2 innocent lives to protect possibly millions, and 2) sacrifice 2 innocent lives and end up saving 0 lives because there was no 4th bomb. And how we choose is a reflection of our values.

      They had no idea where to scan for the fourth bomb. Everything about this movie is flawed except for that last part. Why would they keep Brody about of a black ops task force when she keeps getting in the way? To win Yusuf’s trust. Why win the trust of someone who will not waiver on his mission? So you know the US is serious when they have the woman with morals bring in the children to be killed. That was H’s gamble, he knew from the start that Yusuf had a trump card over them and the only thing it could be was a fourth bomb. So it all was just a way to torture Brody, while also making Yusuf trust Brody.

    It goes to show mercy to your enemy is cruelty towards yourself (or in this case your own people). Brody was morally correct, and it wasn’t wrong to uphold righteousness in other cases.
    However, when inhumane circumstances present themselves, an ideal can become the greatest weakness for enemies to exploit. Even common bullies use this very ordinary logic.
    “You can’t hit me, but I can hit you.” It sounds real stupid, but kids loves picking on the ‘morally correct’ classmate that won’t strike back. The time violence is a better deterrent than flowery words they ignore.
    H was using the right method against the right person. It wasn’t personal to him. This was simply how you deal with such threats. Brody had the wrong mindset towards someone who’d welcome her kindness.

    Where was the 4th?

    • @kittyind
      @kittyind Рік тому

      The 4th bomb goes off at the end after they disarm the 3rd bomb a few seconds later. It is in the same building. Presumed all the FBI agents were killed, and many more, depending on the size of the Bomb. Henry was right from the beginning.

      @@death_star731 I said rarely plus Guantanamo is primarily a prison that allows the holding of people too dangerous to keep in the US. Every major nation has some kind of offshore prison. The torture stuff there is exaggerated.
