    Love the classic black, white photos. Old Hollywood and gives a certain feeling. I use basically one speedlight in very small room for selfie and do some other photography for fun.

    Using the jacket to cover most of the leading shoulder also keeps too much brightness off the shoulder that would distract the eye away from the face and neck. I often have that issue with my portraits that have a leading bare shoulder. I end up having to darken that area in post. Beautiful image.

    f/4 never hurt anyone when it comes to retouching. 🤣 I love my f/8 and f/11, but man… Wider apertures are so much easier to deal with in post!

    Stunning image and BTS, would you ever use the magnum on someone without makeup?

  • @JGZphotography
    @JGZphotography 2 роки тому

    It would have been important to add that after converting to BW to leave the original contrast intack. Then duplicate the BW layer to exposure adjust the popping contrast of whites. With that new layer, then mask it, and with a black brush with light flow and opacity to brush the select areas to accent the shadows. I think that explanation might have been included in the transformation of the color to BW. Changing directions of light for varying depths of contrast might also be recommended. Just my thoughts.

    Awesome BTS. I love the B&W and even though you could add a hair light to change the mood but I think it is a terrific high key shot💕 Does this modifier come in different angles? I saw Wescott has a 70 degree reflector like this.

    • @lindsayadlerphoto
      @lindsayadlerphoto  2 роки тому +2

      It's for actual storage. It's something custom done but I will have more info on how to do that in the future. :)

      I usually share a bit of how I edit in RAW in these videos but the actual retouching I don't really go into detail with since I usually outsource that or if it's something really simple I don't generally include it in the videos since I just mention what was done.

    • @lindsayadlerphoto

      Depends entirely on what I intend for the final photo to look like. I don't go into the shoot thinking if it should be one way or the other.

    The f stop with the right background I think is a matter of really having experience: shooting at f4 thru a whole shoot ? Set get everything right with lighting and background then go for it
    The more experienced the model _ may really help also f4

    number of light is irrelevant. you focus on a result, then use the proper amount of light. your photo is beautiful, using another lights or more would change the look but would still be beautiful.

    a super photo, intense charisma and very well matching light, well done !
    but when it comes to the end result, the unnaturally long-looking neck bothers me more than the completely natural shoulder position in the unedited photo ... that was the first thing that struck me when I compared the photos

      I had understood that, but I was torn about whether I liked it better before or after, but in a positive sense it doesn't matter because tastes are different, this is just a detail and doesn't change anything about the great idea and the lighting
