I had a 2007 SRT8 Charger, stock, in 2010 after my first deployment. I did 156 on some mediocre tires. It was so solid, steady, and confidence inducing I took both hands off the wheel for a second. WONDEROUS CAR!

Damn that's hella sick bro! This comment made my year! That was a smart move. I bought a 10' back in 13' with only 18k miles. It's the best car I have ever owned and I would never sell it even if I became the richest man.
According to the EVIC 0-60 timer on my 2007 Charger SRT8, my best time so far has been 5.01 seconds w/ TC on. I regularly hit 5.1-5.2... and I'm at 5,000ft elevation in Colorado! But my car has 295's in the back. Also have Airaid CAI, Diablosport 91 tune, and Pedal Commander.
13.7 @ 98 mph. motor week tested a 2006 srt8 and did a 13.4 at 104 mph
he also said 5.2 0-60 which many people get way better times

Unfortunately I had to sell my 2007 SRT8 recently. It is actually a great car to drive. Very fast but also comfortably. I already regret selling it.

Dude...I always felt the same. I purchased a 2007 Super bee #805 even though I really hated that steering wheel. I have to say after the first drive my immediate thought was....'this thing is not as big as it looks in EVERY photo'. It's really fine.
Its not a fucking family sedan....okay???? Yes you can fit a "whole family " in there but saying its a family sedan just ruins the title of the car. It just a four dour car thats a fucking monster and pretty luxurious back in 2006 -2010 compared to other muscle. Im getting one this SUMMER!
Lol, the non-srt 5.7L chargers are capable of doing 13.7s in the 1/4 mile at over 100mph, even the first gens. The SRT8s with the 6.1L were tested number of times and did 0-60 in under 5s, quarter mile in the low 13s at 108-109mph. In fact even today's 3.6L V6 chargers and 300s with the 8-speed were tested and they trapped almost 98mph.
I just bought a new 2016
Dodge Charger SXT V6 and I like the new styling, and even enjoy the giant presence I make when driving in Seattle, this V6 is still entertaining to drive fast. I know it's just under 300 hp but the 8 speed just makes it all work. I believe all I need to do is change out the rear diff gear to maybe a 3.71 and that alone will take a full second off the 6.5 second 0-60. not bad for a V6 Tank.
I own a 06 Daytona and while I love it. In no way will a stock 5.7 do a 13.7......

My 08 SRT trips the 0-60 in 4.2 and 13.09 1/4 time @ 110.6mph (On Track) ESP off with just a AEM cai, Dynatech LT headers and a Diablo 93 tune. That 1/4 time is spinning to the 60ft mark on street tires and 4660 pounds on the scale w/me in it. With a pair of stickies out back should be an easy 12.9 inthe 1/4 ! VERY IMPRESSED with my Four Door Bore!! :)

@pwrktg I've unbunched my panties but still can't get this thing to go any faster. Maybe the data from the Charger's performance gauges was inaccurate. Well, it's a moot point now as the all-new 2011 Charger is here.

Its Street & Racing Technology not Street Racing Technology, the & makes a big difference. But the Charger SRT8 is one of the baddest modern muscle out there.

These have become surprisingly affordable since the 2012's came out. I think I am going to pick up an 08-10 (those have the nicer interior) for a daily driver in the spring.

Don't have the srt model buy if it handles anything like the sxt then you'll love only one problem with it is that I feel like I need to ride the brake earlier then i would if i was in another car when coming to a stop light

I need to figure out what my uncle is doing wrong in his SRT8..he took me for a ride in it and I insisted he do the 0-60 timer..he pulled off 7.8 seconds. Pedal to the floor from stop..not even a chirp from the tires.

Why would you buy this instead of the BMW 135i? Its in the same price range, has 300 HP Straight 6 3.0L twin turbo engine (perhaps the best commercial engine), does 0-60 faster, handles better, much better refinement, gets way better fuel economy, and its sexy as fuck in its own way. The only thing I like about the Charger is its mean looks, but nothing else.

Ha, I don't know that you've actually shopped then. I picked my 2007 for 23,500 back in 2009 with 12k miles on it. You can't even find one close to that price with that many miles on it now.

+galaxy star Yea I hear you on getting the v8. My mind is always bouncing from one car to the next. it would be hard to decide which vehicle to really decide on based on affordability. I'm not a person who spends much money on a vehicle.
+Redline Revs i just sold my charger R/T Road and Track performance package for $7,000 clean title. so im sure you can get a R/T in good condition for about the same price if not a little lower. my first charger was the V6 model it was a 2007 & i spent years wishing I got a rt because of many reasons. even if you gotta wait a little longer to find a good one at least try to get the rt VERY fun car to drive.

This is like an over powered party barge.
The killer looks & sound make this car desirable. But weights to much & sips to much gas, city/highway 13/19. The fuel mileage is the same as a full size pickup weighing 5-6 thousand pounds. Highway mileage should at least get 22. The Mustang, Camaro, & Corvette get low to mid 20s. But u do get a lot of leg room, cargo & luggage space unlike other sport cars.

@jsj85 I never said the charger was an embarrassment, it's a great vehicle and I would love to own one. And what is the definition of " full size" sedan anyway? Look at the ford taurus, it even offers all wheel drive, and it probably comes rear wheel standard. As for chevy, I don't care. Do some research before you start trolling the comments. And learn how to spell.

@camirocz Motortrend & CarandDriver always record faster 0-60,0-100, & 1/4 mile times. Other magazines & critics not as popular or ar lesser known post slower times, don't be surprise. I guess MT & CaD are better drivers, hire pro drivers, or get paid to lie. 98 mph with a 425 h/p car doesn't seem right. Your numbers are right on point.

@tastemystinkhole I achieved a 5.18 second run with my car and I had two passengers with me. Yes it's completely stock. these guys are just sitting way higher above sea level than me or the boys at motortrend which makes a massive impact on your power and speed.
its actually known not to be accurate at all. So yes your right. At 98mph is horribly slow for this car. So will blame that on the cars gauges and not your driving how is that.

Mmmm how do u figure the handling is better exactly? Have some figures? Mercedes are known more as a luxury brand and then for performance on some models. You can have the best suspension in the world, but if its overly heavy, big, and tall, it ain't gonna handle well.

@yangmcfrisked226 those numbers are well short of What the car do. I previously had a 2009 tored charger srt8. I easily ran 13.3 in a 1/4. And trap speed over 106. So how he didn't crack a trap speed of 100 is beyond me. It's on my channel

@jsj85 Dude, get a clue. Look at how many ford escape, explorers, f150 trucks, and fusion sedans are out on the road. If anything it's the opposite, I don't see many dodges out on the road other than the charger, and a challenger once in a blue moon, which is a shame because dodge makes some really nice vehicles. Anyways, don't say something ridiculous like that.
