Good points, quality pool cues are professionally balanced and have interchangeable weight bolts. They aren't just pieces of scrap wood turned on a lathe lol. Nothing about this cue makes it worth a thousand bucks. It probably plays like it's a Walmart special.
@@jonathanwilliamsburg9385 I guess for someone who has no idea what materials or amount of craftsmanship that actually go into making quality cues, this would be worth something to them lol
Jeremy! I have been watching your videos for a while as well! I've been wanting to build my own cues for a long time and have done A TON of research - instructional videos, FB pages, research on custom cue makers, etc. All research pointed me to expensive metal working tools and custom cue lathes. After watching your first two videos on cues it gave me the encouragement to start! It was refreshing to see that I didn't need to invest $5k-$10k on specialized equipment and that it could be done on woodworking lathes. I really appreciate the videos, keep them up! Would love a video on router tapering jig. I have been thinking about building one similar to a fluting jig with a side approach much like the one PSI makes.
Thank you. It's been a massive learning curve and I will be making a couple more like this I'm sure I'm also branching out and will be getting in a cue lathe soon things like points and rings and boring are to difficult on a standard lathe. But don't be afraid to try. It's amazing to see what you can accomplish by just trying.
Beautiful cue but I'm not a fan of carbon fiber or fiberglass cues, never tried epoxy cue but my experience with anything other than wood cues is after shot vibration (harmonics?) that sticks in my mind for the next shot! I'm not a pro but can sink balls and know a good cue when I feel one!
This is an amazing work and great craftmanship. Its that, what a pool-addicted boy wants: A unique custom cue, with not a second one on the world. There are no limits I guess :-). What about engravings in it? Would that be possible?
Beautiful! But why the router and sled? Why not just keep turning the whole thing to the same diameter to finish it? Your work is amazing! I ask the question because I’m sure you have a reason. Just curious. 😊
