actually surprisingly this isn’t her “prime” to be exact, in fact 1999 was one of the years her voice was in the poorest condition out of the 90s decade, it was probably her worst year in terms of vocal health. This is because she was SEVERELY exhausted, so she was often raspy and hoarse, she didn’t sleep enough, she drank often, she overworked her ASS off, and didn’t get enough vocal rest in general. So I feel for her. HOWEVER, this gave us one of her BEST eras EVER in terms of tone and passion! Her voice was SOOO gorgeous during the late 90s, the rasp only ADDED to the beauty of it. Though she couldn’t often hit the high notes as often as she used to in the early and mid 90s, and struggled sometimes, her riffs, tone, clarity, rasp, and passion gave a whole new taste to her music and vocal style, she sounds INCREDIBLE!❤ in case u were wondering btw, her vocal prime is considered to be 1993-1996 by most, or 1990-1997, so basically just the early and mid 90s, because like I said the late 90s she experienced a bit of vocal decline due to bad habits and not taking care of herself well enough.
So idk if you’ve reacted to “hero” by her live at Tokyo Dome 1996. But that’s like her BEST performance of that song of all time, and if u read my other comment, you’d know this performance was during her prime (in 1996). And btw she wrote this song!!❤
