12:06 I really like that even when Olga stumbled and lost balance, Kovaleva didn't immediately yell or make Olga stop. Instead she let Olga finish the whole movement, and even complimented Olga in the following part. That's what dancers are supposed to do, whenever a mistake happens they have to push through and keep delivering.

I could tell by her arms before she started that she wasn't going to make it...weak noodles

I always felt that coaches are for things you can't see yourself. You can tell you stumbled obviously, no need to rub it in. Alignment and technique are a different story, you need someone who can see that and who knows what they're looking for

Mrs. Kovalaeva is teaching her musicality, to listen to a music and feel the accent! Amazing!

So agree with you, artistry feeling the movements and the music rather than lool 4 pirouetttes but no musicality, Absolutely beautiful.

It's getting the same with opera too. Fast fast fast runs in baroque music and absolutely no musicality.

Ms. Kovaleva is absolutely fantastic, it is a fortune to have her for a theacher/coach! Smirnova is a lucky girl!

Absolutely beautiful record, even raw rehearsal like that Olga is still beautiful. And Kovaleva it's such a great and expressive teacher❤ mine is like that and I am lucky for that. Thank you for translating the video it's so useful to hear such a good corrections even though if you are not doing the variation 💗

Yea she’s great. She was at Vaganova for 4 years from a relatively young age and completely immersed in the language, so not too surprising. Def the best way to learn.

@@roastedpepperyes, I know that) But I know some guy from New Zealand. He live here (in SPb) since 2016-2015 and still know nothing in russian) So arrogant. Thats why I have so much respect about Isabella knowing russian so well. A lot of people dont. Even if they are living here

I love these videos so much, they are so incredibly helpful (if only I could speak Russian!). This kind of coaching with the attention to detail as well as clarity I’ve not seen before. Thank you for translating and being so lovely and just as precise and passionate yourself ❤

So great to watch this. No wonder they are so good. No stones goes unturned. OMG she is so gorgeous when she is performing. I love how the movement expands and doesn't stop. She includes her head, upper body, and arms in the expansion. Perfection. That last pose! OMG

Thank you for sharing this. I don't know the Russian Language. However I found that I understood what she was saying even if you weren't translating. Which is so fascinating. Just by her demonstrating with the music, I believe I would have understood.🤗💝💝

I found the last video you did with you and Sintikova more insightful in terms of technical corrections and getting a glimpse of the teaching style in Vagnova, but this video was also super valuable.
Through listening to you speak about it and reminisce it really helps portraying the bigger picture, what it was like going to Vaganova mentally and emotionally.

    • @balletwithisabella

I think that’s because my teacher genuinely gave me a lot more corrections! Which I appreciated! 😍 Olga by this stage was a year ahead and more “ready” it was more of a showcase than an actual lesson. My lesson felt a lot like an actual normal day to day class which was great. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I don’t even think about these things. We are all our own selves and we just try our best. I am always inspired by Olga and I just tried to be better than I was the day before. 😊
