Remember them. We had a '54 convertible that replaced our Packard Caribbean. The Cadillac was more powerful, of course, but the Packard had a different feel that made it even more appealing.
One of the nicest 53's on the market. Normally, not a fan of black. But, in this form and with that wheel/tire combination, it looks refined and elegant. Too bad it's in Portland (I'm in Indiana) or I would very interested. If it were mine, first thing on my "to do" list would be to fix that squeak when the steering wheel is turned. Interior looks very nice.
Back in the days when Cadillac's were Cadillac's. These were the days when Cadillac was a true status symbol. There was a high standard of workmanship then that you won't find in a modern piece of Cadillac crap.
Thats when Cadillac made great cars! a heavy car, and with those tires, one of the smothest rides ever! 1954 they became larger. longe in those days, Lincolns and Cadillacs were top of the line.
My dad had this model. He was a sales engineer, put about 200,000 miles on it before trading it off in '57. I was only 10 years old at the time he replaced it. I know it had automatic trans. Brake pedal was narrow and stood high off the floorboard, so I think it didn't have power brakes.
What a simply gorgeous car, in and out. Just stunning. I had one question. Does this car have power brakes? I don’t remember... were they available in ‘53 om Cadillac. (I believe they were). I have driven a ‘54 series 62 convertible, and it had power brakes and had a bit of chrome trim around the pedal, designating and stating they were “Power Brakes”. It appeared that you were giving quite a bit of pedal pressure to stop the car. So I don’t know. Car had a definite squeal in the steering column when turned a full turn. Had an old Buick WildCat once that did that.. it was pretty hard to get rid of... but finally some white lithium grease in the column got to the right place and it stopped. That is a gorgeous-looking car. Is it for sale? Where is there further information on it?
I shot the video with a GoPro Fusion, which shoots in 360 degrees. You can take the footage into Premiere Pro afterwards and set keyframes to specify angle of view, which results in the pans and zooms you see.
Sold last October for half that amount. 50's era cars seem to be on the decline in price. 80s and 90s imports are what's driving most of the market right now.
Wow! A Cadillac that you would actually want. Somehow I just don’t feel the same way about a new Escalade.

I had a blue one many years ago. 331 V8 with oil bath air cleaner. Gas cap under the driver side tail light
I have a 1956 fleetwood sixty special in blue! Cadillacs we’re ahead of their time, they age so beautiful as well!
No plastic will break on this beauty. Quiet and powerful.
I love all Cadillacs pre 1985. My favorite era by far 1950-1959 of course

Agreed! That popped up at an inopportune time - when I was making the video! Murphy's Law.

Those integrated exhausts were very interesting! Can’t remember seeing anything like that before
52s and 53s were all like that. Then the 54s and 55s had them too, but round. 56 was oval shaped. 57-58 were upright, but still below the taillights.
