This was very interesting. I didn't know anything about him. And what an impressive final resting place. I've never been to Ohio. Hope to get back there in the next year or two. Nice job, Whitt!
Yes it is interesting and me personally, I don't have a problem with a president who's a bit of a rascal as long as it doesn't affect his job performance LOL
I've visited his grave a number of years ago very beautiful site. You have to come up into the Cleveland area to Lakeview Cemetery to visit President James A. Garfield his house is Located in The beautiful city of Mentor Ohio.
Thank you so much for this. My parents took me there when I was about 12 and studying Ohio History. I can't believe how different it looks from the way I remember it from all those years ago! Still beautiful, though!!
I just love the videos of the old cemeteries and the ones in Ohio I was born and raised in Ohio and both of my parents are buried in Newark Ohio. Thank you
Thanks Steve for showing and telling us another awesome vlog old presidents are so fascinating to hear ways the country was starting to change. Love the old photos. Keep up good job. Until next time stay safe xx
Those photos are very clear especially as they are so old. Love anything to do with history. Thank you so much, you put so much in to your Channel...Really look forward to your uploads they are always so interesting. 😀🤗
Your channel sure has evolved ... and its great! Very thorough video full of great info. As a Canadian I dont know much about historical US presidents other than George Washington and Honest Abe but this really was interesting. I like it how you told the good and the bad info. Well rounded vlog for sure. Oh and the bonus footage at the end was great. Thanks Whittdocs
Harding stopped in my town months before his passing. He did a lot in hutchinson. there are pictures of him harvesting wheat here! He enjoyed hutchinson! Great work! I didn’t know you did a video on Harding!
That’s a pretty grand memorial for a lesser known President. I’ve seen some other presidents’ gravesites that were nothing near that. Very nice video. Keep up the good work! 👍🏻
I love going to see presidential homes, museums and gravesites and I love learning about the presidents, I did a book report on Zachary Taylor in elementary school but my favorite president is Abraham Lincoln and Gerald R. Ford, Ford and I share a birthday and we are also Eagle Scouts from Michigan he was July 14th,1913 and I was born July 14th, 1992 so I greatly appreciate you posting all of these videos they are definitely very entertaining and I enjoy each and everyone of them and every single video you post is absolutely unique in every way possible and I love how different each video is and you have that perfect uniqueness to telling a story about people and other things, so thank you for being an amazing person and thank you for being you and making amazing videos!! Sincerely you’re Number One Fan, Alexander Kostan 😃
I love going to presidential sites also. It’s always been a hobby of mine. I visited Taylor’s grave. Very nice place. I appreciate your kind words. Thank you so much for watching.
another very interesting, never knew anything on this president but enjoyed your enthralling information you gave us, keep up the excellent work from over the pond
Thank you so much. My channel is all cemetery visits, so you’re welcome to watch more. I love trying to find stories and history everywhere I film. Thanks for watching.
Hi very interesting vlog . Harding looks like my old high school history teacher!! Without the scandals of course ! LoL thanks ! Deborah. Winnipeg. Canada
Hi Steve any chance u could do . A vlog on any history about stage coaches from.the western era. I'm a big fan of the old western times. I've always love the way they travelled .
Thank you for sharing this interesting history of a somewhat lesser known president. I certainly learned something new today. Your beautiful voice makes watching your videos a true pleasure and the places you take us to always stimulates my mind. I wonder if you would ever do any videos about civil wars cemeteries?
Great video love watching your channel, Warren G. Harding is one of the presidents that I dont know alot about so its always nice to learn something new. Have you ever thought about doing a video on some of the Hatfields and McCoy's family?
@@Whittdocs thanks I definitely will. I was also going to ask about Shoeless Joe Jackson, I have never seen anyone that did a video on his final resting place?
Great video love what you do keep It up love the stories that go with the videos I commend the work you do I know the time it takes to do the research so great job keep doing what you're doing I will be a life long viewer thank you for everything it's like going to school got schooled thank you it's the learning channel for me thanks again it's Kevin leach again sorry but your good keep it up
Great video. Read many books about his life. My personal feeling is if he hadn't picked his corrupt cronies his legacy would be very different. Thanks again for a great video.
Thank you very much very interesting I enjoyed your video as always could you do a story on John browns grave and go to harpers ferry West Virginia and do a video God bless
I love history too! And if you look, I’ve already visited him. I think it’s listed as restaurant pioneers in my title. I visit Bob Evans and Dave Thomas. Check it out. Thanks so much.
It's been a while since I tuned in to one of your videos. Yard work and politics have taken precedence. I'm glad I caught this one. A little scandal is always more interesting than just a cut and dried story. I don't remember studying Harding in school history, but I do remember the Teapot Dome scandal (just the name...not the lesson lol). It looked like you had the burial site to yourself so you didn't have to worry about a mask or social distancing. You can pretty well be sure of that in a cemetery. lol You do a good job. Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve actually been there before. I have a few videos from there on my channel. Kroger, Heimlich, a few others. Thanks for watching.
Very good 👍 buddy I didn't know that he was from Kentucky president Harding..is he buried in the ground or the receiving vault? Good to get to see you again my friend..I always learn something in a good way watching your videos...I'm just hanging around the house today doing a little inside and outside work around the place..I like to piddle around with stuff.lol..my dog Bigfoot doesn't feel good today so I am staying close to be with him and Arnold.. they like it when I stay home because I usually cook them something good to eat..I made a old fashioned pecan pie this morning..I already ate half.lol...have a good day buddy 👍👌..
This was actually in Ohio, David. And that pecan pie sounds pretty good to me right now. Hope Bigfoot starts feeling better today. He is actually buried in the ground. The receiving vault was temporary until the monument was finished. Thanks again for watching my videos.
@@Whittdocs oh ok I don't know what I wrote Kentucky for I got to thinking about that and you beat me to the draw to write back and say I meant to say ohio.lol. I haven't been able to sleep much with getting up and down giving Bigfoot his medicine and my mind isn't working right. Look like they would have kept him in the fancy mausoleum vault I guess nobody else is inside it..
I am from Galion OH, where Harding’s parents were married and not far from his home village of Blooming Grove. If you go there, you will only find a plaque commemorating the place of his birth, right next to the school building he attended. That building is now a private home. I don’t know if you know that he began life with a cloud over his head-it was rumored that his ancestors were black. It was considered quite the stigma! Also, the letters that you referred to created an awful controversy. His family, some of which still live in the Marion area, were bound and determined that the letters would never be seen, resulting in a court battle. The upshot was that the letters were published in an unauthorized ( by the family) biography; all that was actually printed was the salutation of the letters, followed by a big bunch of blank!
Another excellent video. Warren G Harding made mistakes but then I guess we all have. Unfortunately it came to light that he showed lack of character. I like to remember the good he did. Today’s politicians with their conflict of interests make him look spotless
Another fine video, thank you very much. There was a story going around years ago, that Harding's wife, I forget her name, knew about this affair, and allegedly may have poisoned Harding. She is also alleged to have destroyed many papers and documents to protect his reputation after his death. In recent years it has been proven thru DNA testing, that Harding had a daughter from this affair with this lady.
When scandal was mentioned with Harding; I thought you were going to mentioned about him being part black, very open secret in Marion, wife did destroy many documents she should not have.

WARREN G HARDING was a great president
Thanks so much for watching.
Vpery interesting I didn't know all that about him its a shame he did nothing especially about our veterans he has a beautiful tomb
Thanks for watching!
I lived in Marion Ohio during the 70's. I never visited his grave.
It was my first time there. Really enjoyed the location.
I'm surprised you haven't checked his masonic lodge. He was 1 of 13 presidents that was a mason. That lodge had a museum section
But now I know something new about a US president and I especially enjoy their real lives that we don't learn about in history class!
I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. I feel the same way. I love learning the odd history that doesn’t get talked about.
You came all this way did you get to see the mysterious revolving ball in the cemetary or the meteorite in clarion ohio both interesting graves
I believe I saw the revolving ball. The meteorite though, I didn’t. Would love to make a return visit.
Just let me know. We have one cemetary with the remains of a us soldier from every conflict from 1775 to desert storm
A very interesting story. I think the president was not too bad (show me one without some form of corruption).
I agree. He was very popular and beloved.
Political figures?? How about Vice-President Charles Curtis (Native-American) from Topeka, Kansas check out vpcharlescurtis dot net

Any one ever say you sound just like the guy on Marty Stouffer's wild AMERICAS 👍
