i just ordered this to deadlift in a 7'x3' footprint, but didn't totally think through how much i have to spend on calibrated plates now. strength co has a compelling 7' option
Only reason I don’t use my Rogue 2.0 Jr barbell more often is the thin 25 mm diameter and passive knurling. Really can’t justify buying a stump given I have so many bars already, but I should have done more research. This bar is a more versatile choice than, say, the rogue rackable ez curl bar I picked up a few months ago
In fence on what to order the c70s or the Stump I just got some Watson power stands that are £1300 but got them on fb market place for £200 mint condition I have 70” space so the stump would fit perfect but if I have the door open where I work out the c70s would still work also looking the Elieko xf shirt bar what bar do you prefer the stump or c70s thanks
Nice Review. I just ordered mine, had the bare steel ohio power bar and I love the knurling. If you've ever tried the bare steel ohio power bar, would you say the stainless steel power bars' knurling is the same?
I have two all stainless OPB's and two bare steel OPB's. No question, the knurling on the bare steel is superior on both bars to both the stainless bars. Stainless steel is a much harder surface than bare steel and my theory is that the tooling Rogue uses has difficulty knurling the stainless surface. It's not bad by any means. I still love my stainless OPB's but the knurl on my raw OPB's is sharper and more grippy. That's my experience, anyway.
Good Review! I want to get both bars - would you say you use the Stump bar more for Bench Press, T-Bar Row and maybe Squat (middle Knurling)? And the C-70S can be use more for Deadlift?
I'm kind of torn between the stump, the c70 stainless and the C60B stainless. Do you have experience with the C70 or C60B stainless? If you were going to only have one all around short bar, which of these three would you pick?
I wish I did more research begore buying a standard 7’ bar. The shorter bars are so much easier to move around. My shorty gets all the use…the 7’ bars just collect dust.
Yes they really are awesome. I can put 285# in bumpers and over 500# of competition plates on them. Never will I need more and I don't think 90% of people who lift will
Yes. That’s another great part about it; you get the SS version of an OHPb which has all the aggressive knurling I need. I do wish the sleeves were 1.5” longer but this bar is truly made for a comp or USA plates.
@@azsuter Sick! And I like their new proprietary black …. Metal process coating not coating on those sleeves, not really sure what it is but it’s super cool and seems super durable
@@adrianlee2780 That new black finish is the only "coating" I have no experience with; however, everything I read, see, and hear about it (similar to Eleiko's comparable finish), tells me it is very durable and resists blemishes due to use better than any other black finish. Since it is not actually a coating (hence my quotations) but rather some kind of actual coloring of the metal, that passes the logical/common sense test. That said, I think anytime you are rubbing metal on metal on a consistent basis, it's inevitable you are going to get scratching regardless of any surface, and common sense tells me the black surface will show those scratches more than a muted "metal" color surface. So, answering your question, "No, it is my opinion based on the aforementioned, that I don't think it is 'easy' to scratch."
got this bar 6 months ago, this was the only review so thank you! Awesome bar for my cramped space.
very cool. I hope it helped. I made it for that reason. Im a big fan as well
Thinking about getting one but I wish they had an option for stainless steel sleeves. 10 inch sleeve would be nice as well
I thought they actually had a SS shorty bar. Also, look into the Stump bar. I also own the C-70 which I thought had SS available
Thx for posting bro. Been looking for a review on this. Nice gym setup too

Do you ever think someone should just make a smaller rack (not so wide)?

Something about the stainless is just refined. Idk what it is but just a superior grade of metal

can you do a review of the C70-S? Max 300 pounds bumpers sound just right for me training at home
i think its closer to 285 is the most i've had; might be able to get 300. I've got a tiny gym and i love it

I've got the SSB from Rogue and highly recommend it but I use the stump for deadlifts, bench and rows mostly
Do you prefer one over the other for any reason/reasons?
It’s literally the same as bar their deadlift bar and their Ohio bar
@@azsuter 👍😎
I have the same one can it fit in all the racks and squat racks
yes. its very rackable

c70s is all i have
How many standard metal plates can you fit on this?
im not sure i only have bumpers. but you can go on rogue and do the math. Last i checked it was at least 450lbs of their comp plates

Guessing it’s the same Knurl as the regular stainless Ohio power bar

Sleeves are not cerakote or ecoat, bro. They're Rogue's relatively new proprietary black finish.
Cool
Is the Proprietary Black Finish easy to scratch when putting the weight plates on and off?
