That woman had no idea how to detangle natural hair just attacking it with a brush. She ripped out a lot of hair the way she was brushing it soaking wet.
Hey girl, that was shed hair, it was in braids and was bound to come out. My hair was right up her alley because she has black kids, soooo she was right on the money with what she did and clearly worked it out :)
I decided to relax my hair because of knots, I think that relaxing my hair every 2 months is perfect, I always have box braids and I am retaining growth for the first time in my life
Something similar happened to me last week. I call myself washing my hair at 14 weeks post and it must've been dry because it stuck together in two big dreadlocks! Thank God for Mane n Tail Detangler and Joico treatment balm because 😳. I got it all detangled except for one medium sized knot on the left side of my head.
did you detangle your hair after taking down the braids and get the knots and build up out of your roots before you got your hair washed ? if you didn’t that’s probably what caused the matting . but the stylist should’ve did that before washing your hair if you didn’t .
I did detangle my hair before I went. To be honest, as I was detangling, I felt some loc'd up parts in my roots but didn't really spend too much time on it. It all came down to what I needed to do before I put my braids in. I shouldn't have let my roots airdry and I should have gotten them a bit more straighter before the braids went in. Hope that makes sense..lol
Why was I so anxious watching this video LOL! I was so glad to see it all worked and your looks fabulous! I only fight with knots ( the little fookers😂) when I go weeks wearing my hair in a curly state, and then wash it without combing it out 1st. What happens is the washing takes out the oil, conditioner, and other moisturizing products. So the hair that shed but didn’t fall but stayed in my curls/waves, are clean when I wash but still dead and dry. NOW I‘m going to have knots😩. So I dampen my hair and comb with a width tooth comb before washing to remove the dead hair while product is still in it. I know it sounds strange but it works for me. 🤗
Hi, I’ve had relaxed hair for a while now and it has grown so long over the years, which I am happy with. The problem is that every time I wash my hair it gets so tangled which leads to so much breakage. No matter how much I try deranged it, it will always create hectic knots. Any advice on how to avoid that or make it easier?
Girl don't you ever go back in there. Why was your hair that matted? Omg she should have put tons of conditioner in your hair to help with the detangling process
The matting was my fault. I explained how it happened She did detangle with conditioner, rinsed and then detangled with a leave in. She did her thing though .
Once a lot of your hair doesn't come out then do what works for you! I wonder if it's also expensive when they have to do a lot of detangling or getting rid of knots.
I only get knots in the hair around my nape as that is usually left out of my hair scarf or maybe gets a bit of water after shower. I did not think she did a great job detangling with that brush and her dryer/brush handling was not impressive IMHO.
She was actually pretty careful with the detangling and the knots. She did what needed to be done clearly. How would you have handled the blow dry? Honestly asking

Oh my! That sounds similar to my situation. Glad you were able to get them out :)

You have a lot of patience to take down your braids! 🙌🏾💯
A good tv show is key!! Haha but for real, I dread it when the time comes.
Dang sis! I’ve had fairy knots towards my ends because of wash and gos but not the roots…I’m sorry. Sending love ♥️♥️
Same! I'd have knots here and there at the ends sometimes, but it's a different struggle at the roots on 9 months post relaxed hair..lol
Conditioner and coconutoil to take down the braids!! Sooo much new growth. So nice to see the amoubt of growth😍
Oh yes I’ve heard of coconut and olive oil as the go to. I think I used one of them to take down braids before.

That's a pretty good routine! Gotta do what you gotta do! :)

Try overnight prepoo with light oil( olive oil, jojoba, Argan oil,etc.). Detangle with oil in before wash.
Always put conditioner in your hair before you wash it❤️
Gloss silicon spray or serum on dry hair and detangling brush or rake comb. The knots just glide out. Clarify after detangle.
Thanks for the silicon spray tip! The clarifying I definitely did 💗
Love your bangs grown out like that! Fairy knots are the worst that’s why I started straightening my hair.
Girl, I keep my hair straight and they still found me🤣 Thank you!!💗
@@twolala1 yes girly having new growth will do that to you! I’m glad you had a patient stylist!

She was not delicate with your hair I never seen her start detangling from ends to root.

Drybar doesn't charge for extra detangling or knots, but I do know of salons that do that though.

I’m a hairstylist and lost 😆 . Just wash and detangle with conditioner. Simple. 🤷🏽♀️
You’d think my routine would be like that, but new growth changes things…that was more my fault though ;)
are your a curly hair stylist because even healthy curly hair even knots up . They can be difficult especially with two textures
I agree! I'm a former cosmetologist. After the wash just detangle. There are some excellent products that will do the job nicely.
@@Candicedickinsonllc Yes, I do natural hair. I use salon quality products and never Shea moisture. Every client that uses that has dry hair.
Is it all Shea Moisture? Or a particular line that dries out hair?
The collagen powder is called Vital Protein.
I use Collagen For Her, but Vital Protein is good as well
If the cream that you used was water based that could have caused your new growth to tangle.
It is..hmmm.. Thank you!! :)
I’m relaxed and did braids with my real hair, no extensions and it turned out great!
Nice! We use to do that, but feeding in hair makes it last longer and I like the look too.
Sam’s Club sells a good brand of Collagen. It’s in a sky blue and white container. I will look for a picture.
Your hair looks so pretty much love to you twin great video
Thank you Paula!
I have to know the name of this song and who sings it. Great video and awesome tips. Your hair looks amazing ❤️

@@twolala1 Your welcome.

Oh no, not the dreaded fairies!!!
Haha right?! I was like Nooooooo!!
Water to take down .and moisturizer milk
Nice! Didn’t think of water. What moisturizer milk do you use?
@@twolala1 i mix about 3oz mizanni 25 or the one from the as i am line
I love the mizani one. ❤️
Fairy knots are from the pit of you know where. You can think your hair is doing fine and then BOOM! A nasty fairy knot.
Girl so true!! I gots to be more careful..lol
❤️🙋🏽♀️
💗💗
Revair would of been better
Yes I would still use the Revair next time, but I’d follow up with the Revlon brush for my roots
