    Can you add a Rich/Plain content control field into a text box? I've tried to add one but when I turn on restricted mode the content control fiields are un-editable. If I place them inside a table or just inside the word document they work but not inside a text box.

    Hello, I have a question:
    If I want a plain text content control with words in CAPS to repeat 1 more time in the document but in small letters, is there a way that the second content control can repeat the same word but somehow convert it to small letters?
    Thanks

      Well Petar, a few things come to mind. Mind you, I have not tested these theories of mine yet. First, I would consider inserting a Continuous Section Break in between the two areas of the page where the content control objects will sit. The Continuous Section Break is invisible and shouldn't make a difference otherwise on your page. But having them can give you more freedom to have something appear on one side of the Break, and something entirely different, or even not there at all, and be on the other side of the Break.
      Next, I would thing about perhaps changing these from plain text content controls to rich text content controls. Rich text might offer better options.
      Another thing I would try to do is to recreate the first content control text box into the place where I want it to have all small letters (I assumed you meant lower case letters); however, I would give it a different Tab Name, so I'd be doing a kind of "Save As" in the Microsoft world. In the upper right area of the large dialog box, click the "AutoCorrect" button.
      I'd also consider what role the Word Options settings might have on how you want this to turn out. In this example I'm about to tell you, I'm using Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Word 2016. It should be the same in the 2013 version. From a Word document page on your screen, click FILE, then in the new menu pane on the left side, scroll down to the menu choice: "Options" and click it. Then click to the "Proofing" menu choice on the left (third down from the top). There, in the small dialog box, along the top of it you'll see differently labeled Tabs. Click the "AutoCorrect" one, and observe all the things you can automatically control, such as whether the first word of every sentence will or will not be capitalized. Then explore the other Tabs in the dialog box.
      I hope these suggestions are helpful.
      Chloe

    Great . i have a question that how can i Link Drop down to a text box. e.g if i select a Location in drop down list , now in text box details of Location color should be automatically appear, how can i do that ?

      Hello Junaid Ahmad,
      To the best of my knowledge, you cannot add a hyperlink to a choice within a Microsoft Word drop-down menu. I even tried to do it by creating the linked text first, then copying that, and pasting it into the drop-down list of choices while building the drop-down list... but that did not work. The link was lost in the pasting. Instead of creating a drop-down list, you might try creating just a Table, with a separate choice in individual cells. Then add the links you want to each of the choices, to link them to whatever other item you want. You might try using Bookmark links instead of Hyperlinks.

      I watched your video, although there was no sound or narration to explain it. From what I saw, it looks like you have a drop-down list of names of locations, where if you click one of the choices, and then click outside the drop-down menu, it somehow makes the full address of the location choice appear below it. I don't know how this was done; I have never seen this kind of triggered link before. I wonder if maybe a macro is involved. I am not sure what you are asking, since it appears you already have it. It would be very helpful if you could please send me a copy of the file you used in your video. Then I could examine how the drop-down list was set up, and other features of the document that might have to do with it. If I can examine the file itself, I might be able to determine how to create a new one with different locations and addresses, if that is what you are asking for...? Is there is anyway to name these types of text box like we do for a plain text box. For example, we name it as txtname via properties window

    • @debrasayble627
      @debrasayble627 6 років тому

      Hi Ashvin. There are two ways to do this that I know of. One way is demonstrated in my video here, by using the Content Control Properties dialog box. The other way is that after you have created the content control textbox, click into the box while in Design Mode (toggle the Design Mode button on/off just above the Properties button on the Developer Tab), and then insert a Document Property Title as you normally would in any other part of a document. Thank you for your question. - Debra Sayble-Thornbrugh
