    Love them. Last one I’ve been on was my 2012 then after twenty plus years of riding I agreed with my family to trade the bikes in on a few corvettes. Long story short I’m Already sick of it and going back to this bikes. Just an incredible bike and no car will ever replace bikes if you’re a lifetime long rider.

    I have owned a 17 from new, having owned a superduke before, awesome machine the sound is addictive, I don't get the reliability comments this is well in the past now with Aprilia as with ducati,Ive spoken to quite a few other owners on my travels & like me they haven't had any issues at all. I had the akro & Aprilia race map done to mine and it sounds unreal.

    • @mattnicholas9842
      @mattnicholas9842 Рік тому +1

      The reality did not live up to the hype. I only kept it 7 months. Looked gorgeous, sounded gorgeous except the Austin pipe was deafening, fuel consumption was atrocious, was a nightmare to clean and the build quality was a bit suspect, the finish was starting to suffer after just a few showers, it was bloody uncomfortable after ½ hour, it was snatchy and unfriendly at anything below 50mph and was a rocket ship above it. Amazing bike… just not for everyday use and not for me. And yes it slurped a bit of oil. Much happier on my Ducati Supersport S and Street Triple RS, horses for courses I guess but for me they both much better road bikes

    Great review , I ride a ‘19 s1000r sport but i got a test ride on a new tuono factory yesterday & I gotta say I was very impressed, the sound from that v4 is one of the best I’ve ever heard even on a standard can , I’d say they will get a few up dates for 2021 , I’d say that Aprilia is a bike that would make u smile on every ride , we just got our first official Aprilia dealership in Ireland a few months ago so it’s a brand I’ve never known much about apart from the rs125/250 years ago , most owners say they are good and reliable now a days from the reviews I’ve read etc

      I've had both. 2015 S1Kr and 2018 tuono factory. The bmw is easier to ride, better for a novice. The ape is faster especially from 200kmh up. But the ape sound is awesome. Both wheelie fairly easily. The bmw probably easier, the ape seems to tail wag a bit.

    I live in a major urban area in the US, and we’ve gone from 3 Aprilia/Moto Guzzi dealers to none. The nearest dealer now is 200 miles away. I like the Tuono, but don’t know if I want a bike with no local dealers.

    I disagree on the comfort of supernakeds. I owned a 1290 Superduke R and these bikes are only comfortable at low speeds. At high speeds the wind on your chest and helmet gets oncomfortable really quick. Thats why i traded in my supernaked for the Ducati Supersport. That one is a really comfortable bike. You must test the supersport one day. Not that quick but fun nonetheless.

    • @markpulling12

    • @matthewwilkinson5031
      @matthewwilkinson5031 4 роки тому +1

      Frank 939 its all down to personal preference. For me, supernakeds are the most comfortable format. I find it the perfect compromise between the sit bolt upright adventure and touring bikes and the lean too far forward sport bikes. I have no problem doing motorway speeds and long distances on them. Did a 2000 mile tour around France on a Speed Triple a few years back, in a week, and had no comfort problems whatsoever.
      However, I do agree somewhat about the KTM 1290 Superduke R. I had a 2016 model a few years ago and I did find it the least comfortable supernaked at motorway speeds. For me, its riding position was a little too upright so I’d did get a little bit of lower back pain when doing long distances at speed which I haven’t experienced on other supernakeds. But bloody hell, it was an absolute rocket ship when you twisted the throttle! I do still miss it.
      Agree about the Ducati Supersport. Rode one last year and loved it. It went surprisingly well and was comfortable for me, too. Great bike, nearly did buy one.
      Still haven’t tried the Tuono. But it sounds like my perfect bike!
      Great work Mark!

    I own a 2018 Super Duke 1290r. I owned a 2016 SD GT before the R. In 2018 my choices were the SD or Tuono. Both are great bikes. Both are too much power for the street. Middle weights are proving better with more horsepower every year. I chose the SD because of the engine. All it’s torque and horsepower are below 9500 rpm. No other motor offers high torque and horsepower at the same time. Just like a Lambo or Ferrari, I must see the engine. The Tuono, for a naked, can not see the motor. The Tuono is more track focused work h horsepower and torque higher in the rpm band. Can not go wrong with either bike. 99.9% of riders can not even approach the limits of these bikes. These are Halo bikes showing the best if the best for these companies. The 2020 SD basically kept the engine the same as seeking more horsepower cause searching for higher rpm and losing torque. 2020 SD went with the more expensive route by continually trying to lose weight. Keep the Goldilocks engine but lighter weight improves everything, accelerating, braking, handling, etc.
