    I tried epson salts 1/4 cup dissolved in 1/2 gal of warm water and my two with slight sun burn help immensely. The yellowing has turn to blotchy pale green 🤞

    Hi Richard, love your videos for newbiee like me getting into growing Dragon fruit. This pandemic has turned me into a gardener. 😊 one thing i have been trying to look for in all your videos are how often and how much water do i need to water dragon fruits? If you already made youtube video of it please guide me to the video. Much appreciated.

      The plant will tell you when to water if you pay attention to them. The branches will start to lose pressure and feel a bit squishy. Water too much and the whole plant will eventually just rot. They are cacti so water sparsely. If you are watering more than once a week it’s probably too much. But that depends on your soil’s moisture retention and drainage.

    GASP! Just checked the PH of mine and it was NOT looking good. The plant looks alright though. Just gave it some garden lime hoping it works🤞🏻I appreciate the videos and info. Btw how many main branches do you like to keep per plant? Keeping 3-4 sub-branches but not sure about the main ones. Do you ever “reset” or cut off a full main branch?

      Main ones I usually keep it to 4 otherwise it becomes to much. I only cut off a full main branch if I end up not liking them

    Is it possible that was just sun burn? Because your Vietnam white is getting more direct sunlight exposure and time as compared to the others?

    Hey Ric..Nice Gadget to check PH levels ..now please tell me ideal PH levels needed to be for growing Dragon fruit and what are the measures taken by you for maintaining the PH levels for the Yellow turned branches..

      pH for Dragon Fruits should be 6.5-7.0 for them to be happy. When its too acidic in the pH 5.0 and below they can start to lock their roots and not absorb nutrients which causes yellowing.

      Hi Sergio, I check it once a week. Especially after feeding to see if my soil is at a level that they can absorb the nutrients.

    Hi, i wonder why my dragon fruit has a lots of flower but after they bloom all fall off. Can you help me with this please !

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  5 років тому

      Hi Lucky, this could be because you need to hand-pollinate your dragon fruits. Look through my channel to find the video about collecting pollen and then hand-pollinating the dragon fruit flower. If this doesn't work, you may need cross-pollination which means you need to get pollen from a different variety and use it to pollinate your flowers.

    How come your soils PH would be different when you use the same soil and fertilizer and same process with all of them???

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  5 років тому +2

      Hi Lily, It could be that when adding chicken fertilizer I could have used too much or too little in certain pots and thats the only thing I can think that would throw it off like this.

    I’ve noticed that my DF upper stem roots won’t cling to the treated post. I believe they can sense d chemical and avoid it. Prob wrapping post with burlap will solve this issue. Any thoughts ?

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  5 років тому

      Hi Manny, yes you can use burlap to cover. They will cling on to the material better. They love concrete. They cling to that the best.

    Hi Richard. I looked for a video here with your advice as to how to move PH up or down.
    I believe there is none yet. If there is one, can you share a link?
    If there is not one yet, I'd love to hear you talking about the methods you have used

  • @lamt99

    Richard, I believe the Vietnamese df can't handle full sun. Does your big viet df that produce lot of fruits have yellow burning, when you show the past videos I don't see it yellow. Mine has yellow burning too on the one that has white flesh, got from friend so do not know what type of df it is.

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  5 років тому

      Hi Lam, my big one can handle full sun without any problems. Its only when it reaches 95+ then they start to get burnt a bit. These ones are starting to get burn more than normal so will test with increasing pH in my soil to get the roots to absorb iron and magnesium. Hopefully that is what I need to do, in the mean time i'm going to buy a canopy to place over them. :)

    what are the ideal levels of moisture in the soil and light?

    • @TheBrewingMiner
      @TheBrewingMiner 4 роки тому

      From my mistakes it is best to grow in shade. Mine had got sunburn rot all the time even after I watered it more often.
      When watering it likes to be moist but not sit in still water. Depending on the weather your watering schedule will be different.
