- We might be looking at a Joola Hyperion at a huge discount! Thoughts?
Kronos Pickleball Paddle - Carbon Friction Textured Surface with High Grit & Spin, Cushion Handle - USA Pickleball Approved a.co/d/8qdQG3N
I have this paddle and I love love love it!
I think its only a matter of time before people realize that all paddles are made the same in the same handful of chinese factories.
Some have recently said it needs to be thermoformed if it is injected with foam. The thermoforming with carbon fiber around the paddle keeps the foam in.
Not true whatsoever.
yes, but the hyperion C2 is twice the paddle, the regular hyperion is outdated tech.
Hello--i noticed on the website it says Foam injection, is really injected with foam or what we call "thermoforming foam seal"?
I believe it’s foam injection. It gives you more stability around the edges but I’m not certain that it’s thermoformed.
Thanks Mackenzie!
Wondering if you could compare it with a Joola to see if this is a Hyperion or Vision. Maybe friends hava a Joola at the court? Thanks
On second thought, I think it’s probably closer to the Vision.
How does it play? Does it have edge foam? How about thermoforming?
Hey Paul! It definitely has the edge foam not sure about the thermoforming. I think it plays pretty much identical to the Joola. I don’t think it has absolute put away power, but it has plenty. The drives seemed to me like they’re a little more loopy than direct. The touch, spin, feel, and control are excellent. Not sure there’s anything better out there for $118. My regular paddle is the Vatic Pro V7.
Ordered one from the manufacturer and I'd say there are some minor differences to the Hyperion. My Kronos is actually more powerful than the Hyperion and the balance seems to be a little more headlight, which makes it easier to swing. The muted feel and additional power makes the kronos a little more difficult to control than the hyperion imho, but I'm sure some players will prefer it. The grit of the surface feels noticeably rougher than the recent stock of new hyperions, and I suspect that is why it still isn't officially USAPA approved despite the label on the paddle surface claiming it is. Take all this with grain of salt as Joola's quality control is pretty bad, so your experience with the two paddles may be variable. I imagine ama sport's quality control can't be any better. Speaking of QC, my only real qualm with the kronos is it arrived with a loose edgeguard on one side - which was also a common problem with hyperions.
Thank you Simon for the additional clarity on this! I have limited experience with the Hyperion.
What do you think of the HISK RAV PRO?
It’s a solid paddle for the money! Has good control and spin. Moderate power. I do think the handle shape is weird though.
THE SAME WITH INSUM
Yep, I tried that one also and I completely agree.
@@BodybyPBLOLThanks for the review!!
@@BodybyPBLOLthanks for the review
@BodybyPBLOL my son has the insum T1000 he loves it!! He said its a great paddle!!
It’s a solid paddle!
I’d rather get the real thing with the backing of the brand. That’s a knockoff
Along these lines, has anyone tried the Juciao carbon fiber paddles? I have read some great things but no thorough reviews.
@EricShapiro-wx5ju never hear of them. I am currently using a Pacific Paddle Labs 16mm Force. Check them out. I love the paddle. They sell on Amazon also.
You can't knock something off that's made in China. It's all child slave labor junk, don't support big companies that overcharge.
Wait what sport is this for
