the moment when Ilya pulls the sword from the quenching tank, slow mo smoke, thats just magic ...wow
He is magical.
You guys should have your own museum displaying your arts!!
The advanced level of craftmanship in these artisans are ethereal!
Fun fact: the original Green destiny in film is made by Taiwan swordmaker Kuo Chang-hsi 郭常喜.
Wow, this is really a trivia! Thanks :D
He lives in 高雄 gao hsiung, and sometimes he will go through rituals like climbing up towers with ladders supported by blades. He will also light joss sticks to pray and ask if he could use human bones that were not identified or taken back by anybody to forge swords. Would love if he could make a sword, deffo sharp and flexible.
@@hu4ngming Hey there, thanks for the info. May I check with you if 郭师傅 has a video on that? I really need to know this, please.
I had a dream some time back, that there was someone climbing up a ladder made of blades, and up there he was doing some prayer. There was a table with statue covered in red cloth? I can't remember the details. In the dream, I was curious and I tried to go near, and the man turned and told me: "you're not supposed to be here". The dream ended there and I woke up.
Then I dreamt about him again another night, with the same details. I get to stay a bit longer this time, and I think he was telling me that he needed permission to use the bones, before he turned around and told me: "why are you here again?". The dream ended at this point and I woke up.
When I read your reply, I can't help but remember this. Before this I keep thinking that I saw some video that leads to the dream, and I tried to look for the video alike with no success.
Thank you for taking time to read this.
I think he keeps the actual one he forged in his museum as well so visitors can go and see it too.
i need to find that man
That sword was an absolute work of art, simply beautiful.
The Monado pleaaase! I know you guys can pull it off!
Dude the monado would be amazing!!!
I'm really feeling it!
fun fact about the Monado U may not know jet
But Shulk know it already
the jade work was incredible holy cow
There's something about a Jian that's just so beautiful to me. I've watched this video probably 5 times now and never get tired of seeing the craftsmanship that went into it.
lovin the new slowmo
Kappa
+Brandon Kang yup
yep ikr
+Brandon Kang agree
+Brandon Kang The sped up parts were cool too
how about instead of shouting what we want them to do and shout what they HAVE to make. lets just take a moment and say that they do a great job and it all looks very awesome. the comments section is flooded with people crying out for them to do stuff.
Of all the many pieces I've seen this shop make I have to say that THIS is my favorite one. The sheer amount of skill that went into making this piece alone was a thing to behold but then the end result is absolutely lovely.
That's gorgeous! I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail shown by all of the craftsmen involved. That is a seriously beautiful sword
This is one of the best things on youtube, the most is garbage but you guys, your work is admirable pure art you create
+Diego Morales check out "michaelcthulhu" ;)
I also enjoy Michael's work
+StickyIckyOOHWAY that's what iv been telling people :)I think his work is amazing with no fancy tools or help:(
+Kyle repz :)
Raiden's murasama from metal gear rising
Oh hell yeah! That'd be an awesome traditional build.
ouhhh yesss
please make raiden murasama
+wink wonk Good luck. That sword is a beast.
Definitely
Yeah pls
the first strike on the power hammer is so visually pleasing.
Watched this in class for a "how swords are made" sorta lesson, and I can say that was a very fun class. Great job!
The blade is absolutely stunning , very beautiful sword, one of my favourites that they have done so far, very nice work.
Do the Firelink Greatsword from Dark Souls 3 next!
yes
Ilya and Matt are obviously disciples of Vulcan.
You guys rock!
Most beautiful and detailed sword i've seen in your channel, congrats
That is a formidable sword. You guys at Baltimore Knife and Sword keep blowing my mind with your forging skill.
the pattern on the damascus was beautiful at the end
+Mayer Yedid yeah the sword is too beautiful to use for combat of any sorts
wanted to say the same. such beautiful clean lines, plus the contrast with the bright dragons. truly awesome
Forjado a fuego
13:50 I live for these moments
The sword is suppose to have some flexibility, which is a very traditional way of a Chinese sword
I hope this isn't true, as a straight sword like Jian will need the stiffness to properly function. A flexible sword is great for training and demonstrating fajin. However, if you stabbed and the sword flexes, then all that energy will just be wasted flexing(and possibly breaking) the sword rather than it going to puncturing the target.
@ComocosonoEWL Not quite metal clubs. That myth was created because knights wore full armors(only for a short time in history but that's a whole another story) and people thought knights would use their swords to bash away. Which turns out to be false as knights had actual smashing weapons(think mace, axe, and etc.).
The swords were side arms for the most part used to cut, slice, and stab. So think smashing to cut like an axe, slice like you would when cutting with a kitchen knife, and stab like... well just stab. Depending on the design of the sword you would do one of the three more than the others. In the case of the jian it would be stab.
@@jaskey Whippy swords are more of a modern wushu thing. I agree it would limit a blade functionality to stab. That whippyness was more historically seen in wider and longer two handed cutting oriented swords and never too that degree.
I agree with you. For Green Destiny, it needs to be flexible, bentable, and thin sword..
So how many of you “experts” were there when they were used to see it all first hand?...
This very well be the finest sword you guys have made to date.
Juuzou's Scythe from Tokyo Ghoul!
yes
ja
oui
jawohl
si
da
yaaaaaasss
+Juuzou Suzuya
But his scythe is ugly and isn't even sharp
+Memelord Lezterp but you're wrong it's great...
Juuzou Suzuya
Nope. It's a shit weapon from a shitty anime.
+Memelord Lezterp you just mad that I'm special class now :]
You guys are truly amazing. I'm always so shocked how talented you all are! I've been watching for years so thanks so much for all your work
That Green Destiny Sword is Awesome 🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Holy freakin shit. He HAND CUT the jade AND HAND CARVED on it that piece. That looks like a fucking boss at work, I mean id pay good money just to see him do that again that was amazing GJ!
Thanks for the kind words! You can see more carving on my channel here also.
Oh hey! Damn you actually wrote back! Man this was amazing to watch you are extremely talented!!!
I don't have a lot of time on my hands to watch videos these days but sure as hell this was fun to watch on a lunch break, it's always nice to see the dedication you out in to this build and I just wanted to show my appreciation for such fine craftsmanship. You told dude you and all the AWE me team!
+NJ Avrg. Thanks. I try to pop in when I can, answer any questions on my carving participation parts. We always appreciate the feedback and that you enjoy what we do! Rock On!!
Holy moly... THIS sword is probably the best sword you dudes ever crafted. Such artwork and skill. Nice job.
Absolutely beautiful. What an amazing display of well polished skills and discipline. Spectacular!!
THAT WAS AN AWESOME BUILD, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS MORE OFTEN !!
I got chills from the sword reveal. Absolutely stunning work guys. Insanely beautiful craft
+Achw3l yes! we need more guys that actually compliment the work rather than requesting another one. this sword is gorgeous over the top! you guys outdid yourself again
I think this is the best build so far and the cinematography of the show has just gotten much better too
looks beautiful, the etching really brought out the layers on the steel.
I don't know you guys but I get really Excited each time the song starts to change at the end moving to the presentation!!
ofc that jade pice is made of pure skill GG to that man who made it looks amazing
Thanks!
SZOBRÁSZ STUDIO
Köszönöm!!
Mikune Oda are you blind.it looks like a 12 year old carved it
Holy shit, this is easily one of the finest and most intricate blades made on this channel.
moonlight or bluemoon greatsword!
+Ps2eterno yessss
+Ps2eterno Would be fun if they were actually usable as well. I like the huge builds that they make, but having usable weapons is in my opinion even more interesting.
***** Yeah, that sounds like a good idea as well!
+Ps2eterno Soul Edge would be awesome as well :3
+Ps2eterno MOOOOOONLIGHT GS
Without a doubt the best combination of smithing and lapidary carving I have ever seen.
Jade is no joke it's very slow and delicate work, amazing patience and skill.
Love the way they create weapons and more but is actually beautiful how they look in real life. Bravo
Oldschool Runescape Dragon Scimitar
yes!!!!
Kanshou and Bakuya, Archer's twin-swords from Fate/Stay Night!
good choice
you folks are true artists.
"Heat up this tang" I chuckled more than I probably should have
Holy shit guys, bravo. That was probably one of the best episodes. The sword and jade was absolutely stunning and kudos to the camera/editing team for the new angles and slow-mo shots ^^
Skyrim sword of the ancient tounges
+BloodFang YES
A mod sword?
Yes! pls do skyrim sword of the ancient tongues
but do the one handed version, i think its easier, cheaper and not so big as the two handed one, i feel if you do the two handed, its going to troublesome and too big or heavy and you cant wield it properly.
I love seeing you all working with wood, it looks amazing ♥
Sam lighting that fluffy torch 🤣😂 I want more videos with him in it. He has such a cool personality.
MAKE ASCALON FROM HIGH SCHOOL DXD
yes pls
yeeeeeessssss
+luiz figueira fucking yes
+luiz figueira ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+luiz figueira Stop watching garbage.
The djinn from monster hunter.
Yes!!!
Or any Rathalos weapon
Or the Natch Knife, but a Monster Hunter weapon would be cool
yes please, any monster hunter weapon would make me very happy.
Men at Arms (or should I say AWE Me?) I am a relatively old fan (even though I haven't subscribed until recently) and I love you videos and hsve shared them with all of my friends!! It it truly amazing to see you transform metal (be it steel plates, a sheet of aluminum, or even a bin full of scissors!) into a elegant sword, a legendary sheild, and even a giant scissor blade! There is one sword I would love to see you make (or rather, one of two swords) They are the rider's blade Brisinger! (from Christopher Paolini's book series The Inheritance Cycle) And/or The rider's blade Zar-Rac (also from The Inheritance Cycle). I have always wanted to see either one of these blades as actual blacksmith's impressions of the swords, and not as movie props. (By the way, I am talking about the book versions, not the movie versions) I hope You read this comment and consider making either one of these.
Regards,
EagleFlyer
Beautiful work guys you nailed it
OMG, just found this video. *So incredible*, I'm blown away…
I want to see more of this sword! I also *want this sword*, but that's not ever gonna happen I think! 😅
But all in all, such an amazing episode, and very cool to see Scott Rodell doing a few cuts with it-you couldn't have chosen anyone better suited for this!
I feel like these episodes should be much longer to get in more details on their work. I love watching someone turn stuff like this into art.
this is so satisfying to watch
I like the slow motion in the editing.
absolutely beautiful etching on that blade. top notch work as always guys.
i admire their work. pure skill and heart.
Thats just amazing craftsmanship
Illidans warglaves?
PLEASe
Yes yes yes
+darklanov I've been saying that for like a month now :)
+Ferynze O Bloody yes!!
+Ferynze O since froustmorne in first season, waitin for it
One of my favorite blades made by skilled crazy guys who are awesome
this is by far the most beautiful Blade ive ever seen! Fantastic Job
Oh I love this episode! It's so good. With the explanations and slow motionsm especially when Illya was straightening the sword oh that smoke patter was so beautiful! And when they were folding it manually the drums matched Matt's strikes as well. This was scripted, shot and edited very well this is why it's called AweMe. I am awed sirs.
Zweihander from Dark Souls
Yes!!!
+xAleElder But... that would literally just be a completely normal Zweihander?. You do know it's a real historical sword, right?
+Steely Dan the zweihander from darksouls 2 looks alot bigger then a real one
+bmxriderforlife1234 Yes, i know. And that's the amazing thing about it
xAleElder yeah moonlight greatsword would be cool too huge smirf sword
Ferrence and Ilya are both wizards. Wizards I say!!
Some of the blades you make are so beautiful that seeing the finished product makes me tear up. this one was one of them.
Stop requesting weapons from ultra obscure mangas that no one but hardcore otakus ever read.
true xD
jajajaja true
+supremacistdawn clares claymore from claymore!!!
+supremacistdawn yeah I know, I've never even heard of 3/4 of the weapons of they make, It's kind of annoying, as I want to see stuff that I might recognise
+supremacistdawn Why?
This is my favorite so far
Beautiful, it flexes before during and after the strike, from start to finish showing no stutter in the flow of guard back to strike position.
You got Scott Rodell to test cut your green destiny! Epic.
8:15 good moment for slow mo. Good work! I like that!
that damascus pattern is amazing!
+Deva agreed
Every weapon you do inspires me to go out and look for someone who would to teacher me how to be come a blacksmith
Damn you guys really put the effort into this one, the layered damascus looked incredible !
My god what a pretty sword.
+James Downs Agree it is a beautiful sword
Spartan '300 the movie' package (Sword, spear and shield + helmet bonus)
That is truly beautiful work!
Sharp, strong and flexible. Good job.
can you forge the Heat Sword - from WARFRAME? :)
+Christian Meyer jesus dafuq xD where they gonna need to travel to get that kinda materials O.o
^^
+Christian Meyer Heat Sword? nah. Dragon Nikana. Or Nikana Prime.
Make Nikana Prime from Warframe, please :D
Or any weapon from Warframe >.>
that are sticks with a grip, not really swords
+Nikos Ganadakis no more katanas, but some warframe weapon would be cool
Damnnn!! Might be the most beautiful sword you build 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
anyone else notice the googly eyes on illya's hat ?
Yeti k haha yep
I did
Illya Martell?
I noticed just as he got on screen while reading your comment XD
I did as well.
i have been watching this for 3 hours straight! Awesome channel! Subscribeded!
I gotta say that this is one of my favorite builds, so good looking.
Hi Matt and Crew
Fantastic build. You guys should really be inducted in the Hall of Fame for Sword making!! I always look forward to watching your videos. Thank you so much for entertaining us, every time.
Regards
Gerann
well said.
+kiewanface Thank You so much!!
The Master who made the sword for the movie's usage used human bones (praying and asked for permission), then clamped iron around the steel (DK what number), to emulate our arms (flesh wrapped around the bones)..
Hope it value adds 🙏
What a master piece!
Wasn't an exact replica, but that blade etching (spelling?) is the sexiest thing i've ever seen
HOLY HELL THAT SWORD IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
That's one beautiful sword. Great job.
You all are AMAZING!!!!!!!!
Those Jade carvings look real nice, as the finished sword.
That ended up so beautiful. I wish I could see the blade in person!
Wonderful art on epic weapon ! :)))
Love the really intense damask on this one!
Holy shit.. This sword is so beautiful! I would have liked another close up on the blade in the reveal to really see the etching, but damn. You guys really outdid yourselves with this one. Good luck topping this for awhile.
That was beautiful. Well done!
Oh, gods! This is totally beautiful!!! :)
Stunning!
They definitely need to bring ferenc gregor in more often I love all the work he does, he adds that much more awesomeness to these incredible blades
I really, really liked this one; a nice reasonably sized, realistically proportioned blade, amazing decorative work.
You also let the guys take some time explaining what they were doing and why at various points, and I always like to see that on these videos, takes it beyond a merely visual spectacle.
+Ben Kirkby 100% agree with this comment. Awesome build, awesome vid, really like all the explanations on the process
