Speed/molly or Amphetamine is a stimulant that is similar to methylphenidate used in the treatment of ADHD and narcolepsy. Methylphenidate is an amphetamine-like substance used in drugs to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children and adults. Most feel good on this, maybe dehydrated. Funny how he tries to simulate it was another drug he took. House took it to the teeth like you can vith cocaine because it sedates the mouth and also perfect to rub in the teeth if you have pain.

this is how shows need to be again, they need good actors that will improvise when they know they should or have good writers/directors that will make sure these kinds of moments happen cuz they have an attention to detail for the characters they helped create

I like the little detail of House asking for Wilson's pills and he refuses, but Wilson asks for House's pills and he immediately gives them to him

I mean he dispenses vicodin to his clinic patients on the daily soooo
also I'm pretty sure antidepressants are much more difficult to get right than painkillers. with painkillers you know pretty quickly they're working correctly, because the pain goes away (or gets at least more bearable). Figuring out the right antidepressant for someone can take months or years even if its done by a professional who knows the patient well because there are so many different things you need to factor in to decide whether they are working "correctly" or not. you can't just hand someone random antidepressants and that cures their depression, it doesnt work like that at all.
Wilson had actually dosed House with antidepressants. He didn't want House double dosing.

Not exactly: House dropped anphetamines in Wilson's coffe to prove HE was on antidepressants, but didnt figure out untill later in the episode that Wilson "refused" to give him the antidepressants in this scene because he didn't want to give him a double dose

The fact that they were both drugged makes this episode so much more satisfying. This is my favorite House MD episode of all time. It really shows their relationship and distinct personalities.

@@nathananderson7962 He never says that, I just watched the full episode. It's clear that he puts all of the powder into only one of the cups. At the end of this video when he tells Wilson "I wouldn't drink that" that's not the coffee from earlier, he made that drink for himself after he got home. He was being drugged though, Wilson was secretly giving him antidepressants, that's why he backtracked when House said he'd start taking them.

I think anyone who takes ADHD medication can appreciate this performance. That exchange with Foreman is 100% spot on for those days where you take a full does when you should have taken half.
Not really, because if you *actually have* ADD/ADHD taking stims DOESN'T GET YOU HIGH. It makes you calm, because your brain is not functioning as it should be -- which is why your executive functioning doesn't function -- and the medication corrects this. People who get high off it (and I don't mean "anxious/agitated" but actually high) are people whose brains already produce the proper chemicals and automatically regulate them, but with pills are now getting an overload of them.

That's why people with ADD/ADHD on stims are *taking meds* but people without that condition are DOING DRUGS.
@@iprobablyforgotsomething Yeah but having ADHD doesn't make you immune from taking too much medication. If I stay off my meds for 2 weeks because my workload doesn't justify dealing with the side effects of ADHD meds, when I start again usually 7.5-15mg is enough to get me through my day. But if I've been taking my medication daily I'll eventually need the full 30mg prescribed dose. Taking the 30mg on a day when 7.5-15mg should have been taken will make you feel like your brain is vibrating in your skull.

When i take 30 mg it seems too intense, but i recently switched to 10 and it helps me a lot but doesnt last too long. Also when i used to take 30 itnwould wear off. I also have ocd and and the stimulants exascerbate the ocd.

Lol I have severe ADHD and take 52mg a day. It helps me concentrate, but I'll never forget when my buddy (who doesn't have it took a pill without me knowing, convinced that it was a placebo). He cleaned my entire house, drove to his place, cleaned his entire flat (which was filthy/he was a hoarder), drove back to my place, told me Feminists are a plague that needs to be cleaned, then watched the news for 12 more hour then went to sleep. He also asked me for more (I declined).

@@BIGDDrome well life doesn't always allow for that. yeah im going to go for a quick jog during work or class, let me just listen to music mid-job, or a game. and i know i probably come off as rude but life can be busy and sometimes those meds are needed, but its people like you that invalidate others from taking those meds, ive seen people be scared of taking them because there peers says ADD or ADHD doesn't exist or is invalid and ive seen those people struggle, its sad

There was an episode when patient told Chase that he killed someone then he admitted to kill four people. And Chase said try to not to kill anyone till I back.
Imagine being a patient, the doctor is doing a breast exam and winks at you while his hand is on your breast...and then he proceeds to put a pulse ox monitor on his finger and is profusely sweating... Becomes angered and shouts that he's going to kill someone. Are you coming back THERE for your next follow-up?

I've never seen such an accurate portrayal of how someone on speed acts before.
i love how many tiny things there are in this scene that perfectly communicate the type of relationship wilson and house have.
- the first thing wilson does when house said he bought him coffee is to check if his wallet is still there.
- wilson tries to catch house in a lie about getting the two coffees together by asking how he carried them both when he needs one hand for his cane. house anticipated this and gives him the "i stacked them" answer. wilson is still suspicious but placated
- wilson goes for the coffee house *didnt* offer him.
- house expected this too. which is why he offered the non-drugged one
- when wilson notices his resting heartrate being way too high his first thought isn't this may be a normal medical issue. even when drugged he IMMEDIATELY puts two and two together and figures out what happened.
- and lets not forget the fact that house dosed his best friend (who was on active clinic duty!) with amphetamines just to prove a point
- wilson's reaction being more like someone who gets annoyed that their housemate never uses coasters when anyone else would have called the police

NEVER trust House when he's doing something nice. Wilson shouldn't have gone within a MILE of that coffee. I miss these two. That episode in Season 8 where House helps Wilson take massive chemo to try and cure his cancer really showed how much House truly does care about Wilson. What he did for him in that episode is hardcore friendship. I only have one or two homeboys I'd risk killing in my apartment if they asked me.
House and Wilson work, because Achilles and Patroclus worked, and Alexander and Hephaestion worked. It's classic: one soul in two bodies.
