Cutch may be a guy Pirates fans will always love and a guy that gets remembered fondly, but he could have been a LEGEND. 2013 NLDS. The Pirates after 21 losing seasons win 94 games, and they make the plalyoffs. Cutch wins MVP. Pirates win Wild Card Game. NLDS brings the vaunted Cardinals. Pirates go up 2-1 in the series with game 4 at home. In a Pitcher's duel, Pirates are down 2-1 going to the ninth. Pirates get a runner on and move him over. There's two outs. Andrew McCutchen comes to the plate, at home, on national television with a chance to tie the game with a hit or becoming legendary with a HR. The NL MVP popped up and the game was over. If that scenario ends different, Cutch is a God in Pittsburgh.....
Look, gang, WE ALL LOVE CUTCH! The fact that everyone from the Giants to the Yanks to the Phils want to claim him as their own - and would welcome him back - well past his “prime,” speaks to his charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. However, only one town he ever played for did he return to promising him the most games playable with the smallest paycheck and having named his first born “Steele.” Cutch clearly loves Pittsburgh, and if he ran for mayor tomorrow on no political platform here whatsoever, he’d likely win, the same as he would’ve here the same way from 2011-2016. We love you forever in Pittsburgh, Cutch!
I'm shocked he started his MLB career at 18 back in 2005, something like Kevin Garnett. Talk about a man dedicated to his craft, forever remembered in my lifetime.
Cutch!!! You new he was going to be destined for greatness. When you hit 700 your senior year in high school yeah your going to draw attention from alot of scouts pro and D1
@@BBUYTTV sadly yes but one of the greats of my generation that's for sure. When your up there with trout at some point I'm his career that's saying something.. Mother nature and father time the only ones undefeated 💯🙏
I don’t think you are correct about the way he was perceived at his later career stops. He was still a very solid player that seemed to be well liked by multiple fanbases
@@TruthPrevails89 you may be correct, however the only person I see in 2013 that may have had a better case was Paul Goldschmidt. Thank you for sharing
Answer age and injury but he still a amazing player rn because of his eye and patient approach at the plate

Thank you for sharing. He definitely had it in his hands. Pittsburgh has been starved for a long time for good teams and stars
Cutch is a legend in PGH. Coming back home was everything to many Pittsburghers. A lot of tears on opening day
@@alexvincent4652 definitely a beloved figure in the ‘Burgh. Thank you for your comment!

Unfortunately he has been bitten by the injury bug which has hindered his career.

It was the loss of the dreads..
He left his talent on the floor of the barbershop 😂

Well liked but just didn’t live up to the earlier part of his career
Jesus cutch looks exactly the same at 12 years old as he does when he played for new York. Spooky.
Ha! He's aged well I guess 🤣
that’s bc he played for new york 6 years ago
He cut his hair, then he became unrecognizable 😅
Maybe that caused his significant decline! 😀
If you would not say "the Major League Baseball" you shouldn't say "the MLB." It's beyond cringe. It is 2 leagues. There is no "the" in it.
Saying cringe is cringe you cringe lord
@@johngoldsworthy7135 Maybe. But at least it's proper English, you troll.
Clearly, you don't know a lot about proper English.

Seems like he clearly had a left knee injury that lingered and robbed him of his peak years.
Injuries were definitely a major contributor
😊
AI voices can do it all.....taking away voice over work from real people however.
A glorified Juan Pierre, wow....
Surely you are kidding? He was the MVP of the league in 2013
@@BBUYTTV MVP with a Jeff Conine statline lol

Bobby Higginson had far better offensive seasons and you would've been laughed at for suggesting him for an MVP award....
Facts. The year McCutchen won MVP, there were much more deserving players in the NL that deserved it.
