Dude looks like a weekend softball player, who just happens to be able to hit a baseball very well!!! A great personality of the game. Always enjoyed watching him as a player and as a broadcaster.
Kruk is the consummate baseball lifer and just a fabulously authentic, fun man. I wish him nothing but the utmost continued success as he continues his broadcasting career in Philly and whatever else he chooses to pursue. I'm not even a Phillies or Padres fan but I just love John Kruk.
The other day I saw a video on UA-cam where a usa football coach said soccer isn't an athletic sport. All I could picture was his offensive line trying to play real football against a women's football team
Have enjoyed the player / career retro videos. What sticks out now is the use of "indelible" in every one. Had to wait until 8:46 and 10:17 in the video to hear it twice. The word "indelible" has now made an indelible mark on my retro video watching experience. Thank you!
I have a fantasy baseball team I am putting together. It has John Kruk, Kent Hrbek, Cecil Fielder, Jason Giambi, Greg Luzinski, Miguel Cabrera, Steve Balboni, Pablo Sandoval, Bengie Molina, and a pitching staff of CC Sabathia, Fernando Valenzuela and Roger Clemons. I think there is also a spot for David Ortiz and Adam Dunn.
I watched this guy play in Beaumont, Texas for the double A Golden Gators....idk what you think... the man had talent....Beneto Santiago was also on the team.... good time
He was a Quasimodo, the hunchback of MLB he was the stifist player in baseball. I don't think he was even a baseball player at all. In sam Diego we use to call him the turtle.
I can't understand how a baseball player does not train at all and can swing a wood bat, to swing a bat, metal or wood, you have to be strong and at least go to gym and do some cardio, so this guy was probably in roids and just train a little bit
They are all ballplayers except maybe the pitchers... 1. They don't sweat while playing 2. They get hurt running and 3. They need to take a timeout in between swings.

@@hugosegura6287 definitely breaks the mold of what an athlete is supposed to look like
@@BBUYTTV , kinda reminds me of John Daly.

John Kruk has a higher lifetime BA, OBP, OPS, and OPS+ than Bo Jackson, in almost twice as many games.
@@mitchelvalentino1569 I think people forget sometimes how good he was
Yea ok prove it!
Jackson sadly got injured right before he hit his prime. Oh what could have been.
Yeah, but who could consume more wings, cheeseburgers and beers at one sitting.
If Meatloaf and Chris Farley had a baby that was really, really good at baseball! 😂

The John Daly of baseball. Loved this guy even as a Buccos Fan.
More like Ruth part 2, without as many homers.
He had great bat speed. This was his key to success.
@@Alex.Jensen definitely was a key
Kruk'er, I know you watch UA-cam so if you're reading this... Thank you!! You were a staple in my childhood growing up in the 90's in Pennsylvania!!
Lifetime .300 avg. Not bad for a heavy dude.
John kruk kept it 1 ☝️

See ball. Hit ball. No where does that say you have to be an athlete.
@@NathanMoist great point on hitting but in theory running the bases and fielding takes athleticism

He actually looks pretty jacked and athletic to me anyways.

Yeah.
