So so true! I discovered Astro right in the middle of Eunwoo’s MIIGB drama and they had just released Always You and their Rise Up mini album! When I found out about the whole company crisis and the meaning of this song and the other songs in the mini album, it honestly became my favourite album and songs. It’s the one song that has such a deeper and even darker tone compared to their other title tracks and MVs. I became an actual fan of theirs just because of this album.
Its such a sad memory......😢😢😢😢😢😢 But, its what made us strong. I remember when Always You came out, I was so relieved I almost cried. Everyone thought they were disbanding, and I was so worried. Their careers would have probably continued fine in other companies, but it would have been unlikely they would stay together as a group Then when I watched Always You, and heard those lyrics, I actually did cry. Those lyrics were so raw and painful, for them as well as for Aroha. It’s still my all time favorite Astro song, because of how much it meant to them and to us. And also it’s just beautiful. They didn’t do many live stages of it, but I still watch those live stages fairly often

always you is quite special. at the time, astro's company was going through some hardships and the members were concerned that the group might disband. it was a really scary time, wondering whether or not they would be able to see the fans again. this was the song that expressed that concern. luckily they've been doing well since then!

This is gonna be a long post, especially since OP has been working on it for a while, but this is important information to understanding the absolute impact this song had on the fandom. Crazy Sexy Cool came out in November 2017, ASTRO was reaching peak views and fans and it looked like everything was going to start going really well for them. However, in December 2017 the CEO of Fantagio (their company) was dismissed from his position by JC Group, a Chinese shareholder (their largest shareholder) and it was announced that the Chinese co-CEO Wei Jie would become the sole CEO of Fantagio. There were unfair transfers and terminations amongst staff and the staff demanded that the previous CEO be reinstated or they would go on strike. Artists within the company expressed interest in leaving and the company went through background checks that might prove they were an illegitimate company without proper certification for board members. Stocks fell fast and April 2018 cane around fast with no news about ASTRO besides if they posted anything. No one said anything and fans started to leave as they grew bored with no immediate comeback. July 8, 2018, coming up on 8 months after their last comeback, and 6 months after the last thing posted on ASTRO's official Instagram, a post wuth the caption "ASTRO AIRLINE - NEW DESTINATION 'AROHA' 2018.07.24". The people that were still active in the fandom were FREAKING THE FUCK OUT (me included lol). ASTRO were confirmed to have a comeback, and even though it would only be a "special mini album" AROHAs were just so happy to have them back, even though our fandom had shrunk a lot. Only people who were still active in the fandom knew of/cared about the release pretty much. It was sad because it really did prove to then that fans left them and moved on to other groups. Also it sucked because that meant there was gonna a whole 13 month hiatus between Crazy Sexy Cool and All Night. And now All Night happenedin January and fans were getting scared that we were gonna have to wait another 13 months to see them again, but Moonbin promised recently that they were having a comeback before the end of the year plus we have their Twitter account and individual Instagram accounts to refer to if were worried or nervous. Everything seems to be going fine now, this was just the long story of a group on the verge of disbandment and always on the verge of another long hiatus. Their company sucks but all we can do is just continue to support and appreciate them.
Oh my dear roha, this is so heart wrenching and absolutely saddening, yea, what happened really hurts, i am tearing up too. Thanks lots for sharing this, im sure new Arohas or anyone who read would be touched and at the least be proud of Astro boys who still stick TOGETHER no matter what happens... Those who leave the fandom only showed that they are not for these precious boys, its their loss. I love what you said at the end, and it's something my friends and I have talked about amongst ourselves too. Astro's music is often very simple, but that's what makes it stand out. Their vocals are gorgeous and the music is chill yet still danceable, which we see in their amazing choreos. Anyway, I love when you react to Astro, you're so insightful! I completely agree with your opinion about Eunwoo's deep voice. When I first heard him sing w Astro using his baritone voice, I actually prefer it. It's really really really beautiful. It fits so well with him. I mean, we got MJ and Moonbin doing the high notes, sometimes Sanha too. But with Eunwoo singing in his baritone, it blended so well. And yes, Rocky's definitely singing here. :) He got the high parts in chorus too. Although Rocky is a rapper, he does vocal adlibs in other Astro songs. Haha. You can just search him up here to see his song covers. He knows how to belt very well, very pleasing to hear :D
Thank God Eunwoo's teacher , permitted him to audition (when the fantagio staff called, it was their exam day ). Thank God , jinjin's mother pursuited him when he was about to give up because of his so much love in street dancin. Thank God , Rocky's partner on the theater play on his school days , left and auditioned on fantagio and boycotted Rocky 😂 . Thank God , Sanha's father did not use a condom 😂 , (sanha's family is full of music. His father and 2 older brothers are also on to music). It would also be nice to see you react to Infinite's "The Chaser," "Back," "BTD," "Be Mine," "Bad," "Last Romeo," and "Tell Me" sometime too if you like synchronization because, as you already know, Infinite are the kings of synchronization and they were one of the role-model idol groups for Astro and one of the groups that Astro's idol concept was modeled after, I believe. I think you would really like the performance version (not the original version) of Infinite's MV for "Come Back Again" as well because the choreography and the synchronization are INSANE, and it's so fun to watch. And while the choreography for their song "Paradise" isn't shown in the original MV, Infinite's performance videos and practice video for "Paradise" are VERY GOOD. The choreography is very smooth and unique. I think you would like them a lot. 😄

Astro’s music is very sensual and veryyy R&B to me. Even the songs which appear to be for really young kids have “boogie” type beats to them, which draws the soul to it.

always you is quite special. at the time, astro's company was going through some hardships and the members were concerned that the group might disband. it was a really scary time, wondering whether or not they would be able to see the fans again. this was the song that expressed that concern. luckily they've been doing well since then!

So. Always You. There's a lot to say about song and the album it's from, Rise Up. This is gonna be a long post, especially since OP has been working on it for a while, but this is important information to understanding the absolute impact this song had on the fandom.
Crazy Sexy Cool came out in November 2017, ASTRO was reaching peak views and fans and it looked like everything was going to start going really well for them. However, in December 2017 the CEO of Fantagio (their company) was dismissed from his position by JC Group, a Chinese shareholder (their largest shareholder) and it was announced that the Chinese co-CEO Wei Jie would become the sole CEO of Fantagio. There were unfair transfers and terminations amongst staff and the staff demanded that the previous CEO be reinstated or they would go on strike.
Artists within the company expressed interest in leaving and the company went through background checks that might prove they were an illegitimate company without proper certification for board members. Stocks fell fast and April 2018 cane around fast with no news about ASTRO besides if they posted anything. No one said anything and fans started to leave as they grew bored with no immediate comeback.
July 8, 2018, coming up on 8 months after their last comeback, and 6 months after the last thing posted on ASTRO's official Instagram, a post wuth the caption "ASTRO AIRLINE - NEW DESTINATION 'AROHA' 2018.07.24". The people that were still active in the fandom were FREAKING THE FUCK OUT (me included lol). ASTRO were confirmed to have a comeback, and even though it would only be a "special mini album" AROHAs were just so happy to have them back, even though our fandom had shrunk a lot.
Now, I wanna share the lyrics and explain to you how each line relates more to their fans than any lover/significant other/girl, like some people have assumed. Basically the lyrics are about how hurt and sad and scared ASTRO were being away from their fans, not know what was gonna happen (if the company would fall under and they'd have to disband or if there would be any fans left when they returned)

You wouldn't believe how much I tear up EVERY TIME I read the lyrics for every song on their album. It hurt a lot not knowing what would happen to them and after Rise Up, they showed us how much happier they were and it really hit home.
HOWEVER! Rise Up was, again, an unpromoted "Special Album". Only people who were still active in the fandom knew of/cared about the release pretty much. It was sad because it really did prove to then that fans left them and moved on to other groups.
Also it sucked because that meant there was gonna a whole 13 month hiatus between Crazy Sexy Cool and All Night. And now All Night happenedin January and fans were getting scared that we were gonna have to wait another 13 months to see them again, but Moonbin promised recently that they were having a comeback before the end of the year plus we have their Twitter account and individual Instagram accounts to refer to if were worried or nervous.
Everything seems to be going fine now, this was just the long story of a group on the verge of disbandment and always on the verge of another long hiatus. Their company sucks but all we can do is just continue to support and appreciate them.

Those who leave the fandom only showed that they are not for these precious boys, its their loss. And a good thing because the real arohas will stick and stay on despite, and it is through understanding, resilience, that Astro and Arohas can be persevering together.
Thanks for the efforts breaking down the meaning of the lyrics and what Astro have meant it to be...lots of people out there just thought that Astro is just a bunch of cuties dancing around with cute and lovers song. Its just so sad. This is a group that i discovered that they really have love in them. Love for family, members, friends and truly sincerely cares for Arohas.

I love what you said at the end, and it's something my friends and I have talked about amongst ourselves too. Astro's music is often very simple, but that's what makes it stand out. I completely agree with your opinion about Eunwoo's deep voice. When I first heard him sing w Astro using his baritone voice, I actually prefer it. It's really really really beautiful. It fits so well with him. I mean, we got MJ and Moonbin doing the high notes, sometimes Sanha too. But with Eunwoo singing in his baritone, it blended so well. And yes, Rocky's definitely singing here. :) He got the high parts in chorus too. Although Rocky is a rapper, he does vocal adlibs in other Astro songs. Haha. You can just search him up here to see his song covers. He knows how to belt very well, very pleasing to hear :D
Thank God Eunwoo's teacher , permitted him to audition (when the fantagio staff called, it was their exam day ). Thank God , jinjin's mother pursuited him when he was about to give up because of his so much love in street dancin. Thank God , Rocky's partner on the theater play on his school days , left and auditioned on fantagio and boycotted Rocky 😂 . Thank God , Sanha's father did not use a condom 😂 , (sanha's family is full of music. His father and 2 older brothers are also on to music). It would also be nice to see you react to Infinite's "The Chaser," "Back," "BTD," "Be Mine," "Bad," "Last Romeo," and "Tell Me" sometime too if you like synchronization because, as you already know, Infinite are the kings of synchronization and they were one of the role-model idol groups for Astro and one of the groups that Astro's idol concept was modeled after, I believe. I think you would really like the performance version (not the original version) of Infinite's MV for "Come Back Again" as well because the choreography and the synchronization are INSANE, and it's so fun to watch. And while the choreography for their song "Paradise" isn't shown in the original MV, Infinite's performance videos and practice video for "Paradise" are VERY GOOD. The choreography is very smooth and unique. I think you would like them a lot. 😄

Astro’s music is very sensual and veryyy R&B to me. Even the songs which appear to be for really young kids have “boogie” type beats to them, which draws the soul to it.
