I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.
The OG saying among Astro fans a.k.a Aroha is that "it's not an Astro choreography without a lot of jumping and turning." Like Aroha literally fear for there needs, so much. Especially, in their older choreographies.
Literally tho- they always have jumps or spin in their title song choreography 😂

Astro members are kings of synchronisation. Again dance practice is the best dance practice ever. Each member moves so synchronized with the other. They deserve much more recognition. They don't deserve where they are. They deserve to be as popular as other groups. They have all the talents-VISUALS,VOCALS,DANCE, SYNCHRONISATION,RAPPERS ETC.thank you for considering ASTRO.

Those pirouettes are from their "Pirates of the Caribbean " aerobics routine they performed in 2017 at ISAC. Jin Jin did one in the corner rotating the opposite way while Rocky and Moon Bin executed theirsflanking him. It did take Moon Bin a little longer to get. You might enjoy watching that.
if you like their spins you should see their aerobics presentations in idol athetic championship, they won twice

Rocky's part in Blue flame, if I remember correctly, actually has choreography because he has a female partner with him in live stages... since his partner is not here, he just freestyles 😊
Astro should be recognized for their synchronisation ❤ but still even if people don't acknowledge them much, arohas will continue spreading about Astro bc they deserve all the best. Astro is a complete package. Vocals, dance, visuals and personalities to adore... so thank you for taking interest in astro despite not getting a lot of views 😊❤❤

my fave part of the blue flame choreography is actually the part after the drop in the 3rd chorus, when you hear the horns for the last time, where they do that move that looks like they're snapping their own necks. i feel like it always gets overlooked bc there's also a bit of a formation change there but it's so dramatic! i love it.
I absolutely think Astro are underrated as dancers. They have insane synchronization, not to mention their dances incorporate more flowy movements which makes it even MORE difficult, but people never mention them in their top dance groups. I also like to point out that as an even membered group, they do a really good job of using unique formations instead of hiding one member behind center. Astro also should be noted for their unique distinct style of dance. It's so characteristic and really stands out.
As a dancer, I've always thought Rocky deserves to be a contender for best idol dancer. He has insane body control and control that seems to fly under the radar for most people. He can do the hits, he can do the stops, he can spin, he can flow all to an extremely high level, but is constantly forgotten when people discuss best dancers.
I've spent so many hours showing my dancer friends his dance vids bc he's just so satisfying to watch.
Tldr; Astro are amazing dancers and it'ss frustrating people overlook them and Rocky in particular deserves more credit.

ASTRO is a talented and complete group in all aspects. Here we look at their choreography and dances.
It is no secret to anyone that Rocky and Moonbin are the strong guys in this regard, but Sanha and JinJin are right behind with their heels on and MJ has an unmatched rhythm that puts them up to scratch. But nobody talks about Eunwoo, the young man who entered as a trainee without knowing how to sing or dance (Rocky's words), and who was always behind in the monthly tests. He didn't get stuck on that. He persevered and worked (and continues to do so to this day), to live up to what the group deserves. And there you have it, she dances with elegance, fluidity, synchrony, energy and has even done more than a few pirouettes (like in "Again").
Who does not know it and sees him, would not say that he does not know how to dance. Because he tries twice as hard and maybe more to get the choreography ahead. Maybe he doesn't dance on a daily basis, but that's his private life. As for the group, it does more than good. And so, up to the level Rocky has reached, he admires and respects him.
Love your appreciation to every member!! And their dancing in general . People don't appreciate Astro's dancing

It's been a hot minute since I've seen the Again choreo so I'm really enjoying this. I almost forgot how damn incredibly gorgeous it is.
And I agree, Astro really don't get enough credit for their synchronisation. They're absolutely brilliant. I'm glad you're enjoying watching them and recognising that !!! And the way you got so excited at the end because of the pirouette I'm soft 🥺
And I SERIOUSLY appreciate the fact that you are invested in making videos for smaller groups that don't bring as many views as larger groups. I actually teared up listening to you say that, because it's a thing that happens a lot where content creators just stop reacting to them, and it doesn't help bring the groups the recognition they deserve. I'm hoping that some people will be introduced to some of the amazing smaller groups through your channel. That would be so great.

Yeah I’ve been told many times how they discovered ACE through my channel and I’m hoping to do the same for other groups I love. Cause remember I’m still a fan just like you guys and I want to recommend my faves to other people- just so happens that I have a platform to do that lol.
Finally a youtuber/reactor that is GENUINLY interested in a group not because of views, but for their actual talent, ASTRO deserves this so much, i feel so happy♥
again/should've held on is personally on one of the best choreos list..it's aesthetically made with techniques and its fluidity..credits to the choreographer😉, moreso the meaning of the song conveyed through the dance..

There's a very very short performance cut of Always you where I truly appreciated Rocky's dance background. (the video was of Rocky, Moonbin, and Jinjin)
Again is definitely my favorite Astro song and the choreo is phenomenal. I love how elegant and clean the dancing is. Also it is hard for me to get my eyes off Rocky, there is something in the way he moves that draws my attention every time I watch the dance practice.

You are absolutely right on the pirouettes. They’re very difficult, especially followed up with a jump (which also turns) like that! And yes, it was more of a jazz pirouette, since classical ballet focuses a lot on staying in that 1st position (so turned out feet, en the rest of your leg staying in that line. So if you were to lift your knee like in a pirouette, it’s also supposed to be in that turned out position).
And yes, their synchronization is underrated!! Astro has a few of my favorite choreographies, first of all because they’re just so beautiful and mesmerizing to watch, and second because of Rocky’s influence, which brings a bit of classical style dancing (such as jazz and ballet). I love to see these classical influences, and I love it even more when it’s acknowledged and praised :)
I dance ballet and contemporary myself (as a hobby, I do have dance classes and such but it’s just pure fun and small performances, nowhere near professional) and get super excited when I see these classical influences (my reaction to those pirouettes were the same as yours 😂😅)
Yes, I'm so happy your gonna continue to react to them, they're such an underrated GROUP, and them being on hiatus and not promoting because of what happened to their company also didn't help

Yes they don't get enough recognition for their synchronization in particular and their talents in general... Their movements are clear cut and stable. They measure every single mm.

It's not a traditional dance practice, but rather a *literal* practice for an actual concert performance, so it's a little more raw, but the synchronization! the spins! the SPLITS! it's all there and you will lose your goddamn mind at the end lol.
For rocky's solo parts he had a partner in thr live stages! It's not just freestyle 💜

Hey Jeff, just want to drop a huge thank you for your appreciation for Astro and your comment at the end that you will continue supporting them despite the difference in the views in comparison to other groups. I know how hard it is to produce this kind of work, it is very labor intensive and having high number of view is so important for youtuber to keep doing what you guys are doing. I salut to you for your support for the boys. There are currently a few polls happening in south korea that aroha are working so hard in voting 24/7 in hope of giving the boys the trophy(s) that they deserve. We are head on head with some of the biggest (if not biggest) names in kpop and given that we are still a very small fandom when compared with the others, we are all working at 500% of our capacity hence why the lack of online presence on youtube to hype up reaction videos, which is so sad and we wish there are more of us to cover all aspects. We are generally small but during award time especially you will never see any of us anywhere else but behind our phone on the voting apps 😅 But i promise we will comeback here to hype you up once this is done. oh okay fyi,when rocky solo dance time came one,he actually duo dancing with a female backup dancer. You can search up blue flame stage to see it. This is their first time to dance with backup dancers so the conclusion is rocky just freestyling there
I thought it was said somewhere that Rocky had to dance with the backup girl was because he was suppoesed to dance with Moonbin, but because he wasn't promoting during Blue Flame they had to use the girl. I think it was mentioned in one of the MV or Blue Flame Shows. :-)

I just recently got into Astro like a monyh ago, and I have the same sentiments. "Why didn't I know of them any sooner???" They like have some of the best dancers and vocals in kpop. Thry also partivipate in their songwriting/producing and choreography of their performances. They have a variable discography, and have a very good relationship with their fans. I seriously hope they hit bigger soon because they certainly deserve it.

I got into Astro bcs of Again. I have a friend who staned them since debut, she love all of they happy bubbly songs (Confession, Hide&Seek) but I'm not really into that type of songs (even I lost interest on Golden Child after the 3rd comeback). But then I got interested bcs of their lightstick, so I check them out again (pun not intended) and noticed that there was a new release but with no MV, I listened to the album and guess what? I LOVED IT! Again was THAT song, and You&I melted my heart. Funny bcs You&I it's a song dedicated to the fans (Aroha) and I was made sht bcs of it sjfjdkss it was sooooo cute. 😳 Later on I was looking for the meaning of Again and saw the dance practice. I FELL IN LOVE. REALLY. HARD. So yeah, Again made me an Astro stan. 👊💕

I think you should watch dance war on UA-cam. They are covering their seniors music and compete ,in every round they are eliminating base on voting and choreographers judgement. The dancers compose of different kpop groups they pick the main dancers to compete. One of them is Rocky but all of them are very good. I think you should check it out, once again thank you so much.

My favourite member is actually Rocky but I really love watching Sanha dance as well because I think he actually gives off both Rocky & Moonbin vibes in terms of the way he dances. It is really satisfying to watch ASTRO's dance videos and also performance videos because of their insane synchronisation :)
And for Rocky's solo part in blue flame there was actually a female dancer that he dances together with for Blue Flame performance originally. Any Blue Flame performance will be fine but I kinda recommend watching their Blue Flame performance at 2019 SBS 가요대전 (2019 SBS K-POP AWARDS) where they also added a special dance break + Rocky solo dance break! :)

Astro is actually quite known at syncronisation (but maybe u rarely see people talking abt that bec their group not that pop compare to others hehe) because they won twice at idol star athletic champion (ISAC) for chategory aerobics dance where syncronisation have the highest point u can watch that on your own if u want to to need do make a react vid abt it just enjoy it while covering their tallent :)
