Government of Canada launches National Quantum Strategy at Perimeter Institute

- The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, launched Canada’s National Quantum Strategy at Perimeter Institute on January 13, 2023. The strategy will shape the future of quantum technologies in Canada and help create thousands of jobs.
Minister Champagne was joined by Perimeter Director Robert Myers and the co-chairs of a new expert Quantum Advisory Council: Raymond Laflamme, a founding associate faculty member at Perimeter Institute and Canada Research Chair in Quantum Information at the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo, and Stephanie Simmons, associate professor in the Department of Physics and Canada Research Chair in Silicon Quantum Technologies at Simon Fraser University and founder and Chief Quantum Officer of Photonic Inc.

I really want to believe that together with these formal niceties and platitudes, that there is some hope for the young and future Canadians in our midst and forthcoming, to be able to partake in programs like this... with the caveat that education in the STEM fields as well the overall general education in our country improves more than what was offered when I was growing up and school age in the !960;s, early 1970's... which was abysmally poor, to be generous in describing how poorly applied, the general public primary, middle and secondary school system curriculums were, back then... the levels of the education system, then, were only sufficient to invariably produce just enough brain trust for our generation, to perhaps likely be able to get a job somewhere, (and sometimes, often occasionally a real career), and the REAL education was only really offered to richer people willing to pay for it, by whatever means... or by being "connected" in some fashion to the whose - who, as some say.
They can get an education if they survive the experimental gene therapies that are being forced on them even though they aren't at risk. It's not likely that many 6 month olds who are injected today will ever live to go to university. I just wish we could send more money to Ukraine to help Freeland's spiritual forefathers.
Many other countries provide dental care for the citizens, this decreases overall health costs in the long run, such as Alzheimer's disease related to gingivitis, etc.
We're leaping ahead to do quantum research and yet millions of Canadians are afflicted with basic dental problems that will plague them for their entire life and the increased health care spending this leads to! As excited as I could be about quantum technology, I am not since it is coming from an incompetent government that isn't fulfilling the basic requirements of the people. Ignorant people in power..
