They bought next to a farm and then complain! Move somewhere else.

I used to live near a dog racing track. It had been there for over a hundred years. 20 years after I moved in all the surrounding fields were sold off and thousands of new houses were built, many right next to the dog track. It didn't take long for the new home owners to start complaining about all the barking.......

Local story of someone trying to call the police because the farmer had started workking the fields around their house, the story is that the dispatcher basically told them "you bought a house surrounded by farm fields and are complaining that the farmer is working them? you're idiots."
They were "city folk" who had the "small house in the coutry side with white picket fence and surrounded by flower fields" dream, welcome to reality.

When harvesting a crop, there is a very limited time between it becoming ripe and the weather in which to get it out of the field. Nature dictates the hours not peoples' convenience.
A farmer works the year for the harvest; and, farming operates on a very thin profit margin, (in the years where there is a profit).
Where do the neighbors think their food comes from?

Also depending on amount of fields you could be harvesting all day

We had a 5 acre small holding in Kent England totally surrounded by a local farmer our entrance was a short right of way over his land an easment we allowed his daughter and friends to set up jumps for their horses and asked to be warned so our 4 German Shepard guard dogs were kept in till the riders finished! The farmer allowed me to go over his PRIVATE field paths[we were happy for him to cut across out land whenever he wanted saving him time] with the our dogs [voice controlled by me] and also mowed our 5 acreas taking away massive bales of straw [silage] so working together we all got on ie mowed 5 acrea lawn for us winter food for his cattle.Worknig together works well David

OP of the farming story could go whole hog (so to speak) and migrate to pig farming. Which is an inherently smelly operation. Nothing the snooty neighbors can do since being zoned for agriculture doesn't restrict which type of agriculture.

Depends on the corn op is harvesting it could be popcorn kernels or corn for cornflakes or just sweet corn for corn on cob. If you move near a farm teach your kids where their produce comes from. Do not fight a farmer as you will have a whole community on your backs. Instead ask the farmer if the kids can feed the chickens or animals this way you are educating the future farmers.

Sophia isn't all that innocent either. It sucks that she got away with public lewd acts. I would never be predatory like Max, but I would have also called the police too in that situation. I could see Sophia be put on the SO registry in the future.

They did not learn the first time he was a slug? The second time the fools who gave him money should have said no.

Story 2. You just tell them where to go. If they don't like it, MOVE!!!! And thise cops have NO reason or right to stop you from your harvest. They both should have been disciplined

Farm story OP is lucky they didn't get an officer willing to use force to stop him. Not sure from the story what time OP was starting but as a rule farmers start early

It's spelled "malicious COMPLIANCE". Not "compliant".

I dont recall the name of the case but a few yrs back a pig farmer in Fla got sued by a new gulf course for the smell. It went all the way to SCotUS so it is now fed law. Basically what the court said was: 1st the farm was there first. 2nd that food was the most important use of land and so no other use can say no to it. So kids remember when u buy ur country home be ready to awaken when the farmers do for what they do is noise and had an odor to it that u may not like but there is nothing u can do about either according to SCotUS. If u want noise regs stay in the city b/c we famers will not put up with u trying to change how farming is done. There are no such laws out here that say we cant make all the noise we want at any hr. I know there are times I am baling hay in the large hrs of the night right into the wee hrs of the morning. When hay is down u must bale it before it gets rained on it will lose some of it nutritional value.
