    Hi there,
    I've been watching your videos for over a year now and I can say this is one my fav detailing channels. I was wondering if you could make a video on Essential detailing tools to carry in car for a long trip, like jungle or a mountain, where there's no source of water or just limited water. I have few things in my mind-
    1. IK foam sprayer
    2. A small wiper (to wipe down the foam from car as there would be minimal water)
    3. A portable Vacuum cleaner
    4. Few Microfiber towels (to be used after wiping the wet areas using kitchen roll maybe or something disposable)
    5. Foam shampoo
    6. Tire clean and shine spray
    7. 1 or 2 ltr. of water bottle for foam sprayer (depending on size of car)
    P.S- When cleaning interior pls clean the roofliners and door window channel when the glass is fully down.

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  2 роки тому +4

      Thanks 👍🏼
      I’ll only do the bottom to top rinse on the pre-wash. The reason I do it is just so I know exactly where on the car I have rinsed. If I rinse from the top all of the foam will run off the car so I could miss rinsing a spot, and with the pre-wash being arguably the most important stage I want to make sure it’s right 👍🏼

  • @ThePatrickBateman69
    @ThePatrickBateman69 2 роки тому

    You should be doing a preliminary rinse BEFORE you apply any citrus de greaser/traffic film remover to the lower sections of the car.
    The reasoning for this is because if most of the heavy dirt (like this example) can rinse off with just water, why would you have the chemical fight the dirt, instead of the actual paintwork underneath? It's a waste of chemical to just spray on without rinsing. You don't see people use IronX straight onto a dirty car, it's used after atleast a rinse or wash to give it the best chance of taking off contaminants.

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  2 роки тому +2

      In this case I disagree. If the dirt was an inch thick the yes I would understand, but I find that the chemical sticks to the panel better when it hasn’t been rinsed, and you can also see that after I rinse the car.
      Again, with the wheels, iron x is literally designed to remove brake dust, so providing the wheel isn’t covered in dirt and just brake dust, which they usually are then this is absolutely fine.
      I have seen people spray the iron remover on then agitate it immediately, which is a big no no as they are essentially scrubbing dirt into the wheel.
      If your method works, then carry on but this has worked for me over the last 12 years 👍🏼

    • @HarpersCarDetailing
      @HarpersCarDetailing  2 роки тому +6

      The only reason I rinse from the bottom up is so I can see exactly where I have been with my pressure washer, as it’s the pressure of the water that removes the underlying dirt.
      If you started from the top then you would dilute the foam below and it would run off the panel, so you don’t necessarily know when you have rinse, therefore you could very easily miss a spot.
      The pre-rinse stage is arguably one of the most important stages so I need to be thorough.
