    8:32 is exactly why Jordan is the greatest player of all time. This is a regular season game at the start of the season. He goes after the best player on the opposing team without worrying if he gets humiliated. He has 5 championships up until this point! And still doesn’t feel “too cool” to guard someone at maximum effort. Totally different mentality than guys today.

I haven't seen anything like this in the past 12 years from the NBA. They need to make MJ (or Joe Dumars or Isiah Thomas) commissioner or the guy who devises the rules, cause these damns lax players of today are getting too much of a free ride. Heck, I ain't a fan, but even Kobe should be commissioner. I'm sick and tired of watching scrimmage games pretending to be regular season, playoff and finals games.

    Finley could have been a HOF player, but he had limited handles (especially left hand) and never addressed it. That's why he mastered his jump shot and 3 point shooting. If you noticed he was an above the rim athlete but did not have the ability to drive around players and take the extra dribbles to the paint. He would always dribble than gather for sometimes incredibly difficult fadeaways. The fact that he would make them made him too comfortable doing it. This is also why he did not get to the free throw line as much as he should have with that athleticism. I'm a Mavs fan, and that used to frustrate the heck out of me. When your most athletic player with the athleticism of Jordan is primarily a jump shooter with limited handles. This is also why the Mavericks were strictly a jump shooting team and would lose in the playoffs. SMH...

      al allday He DID NOT have the athleticism of Jordan. Sorry to tell you. Not saying he wasn't athletic... But, compare a 23 year old MJ to a 23 year old Finley and it's 2 different universes.
      Also, Finley was not a very good passer on offense and was a non-factor defensively.

    • @boogieloo1831
      @boogieloo1831 6 років тому

      al allday - you couldn't drive easily back then. The middle was clogged and there was no ticky tack fouls like today to guarantee free throws - this is the big difference of yesterday and today. He was a very good player but definitely not Jordan level athleticism - at least Jordan prime.

      1984marmo That’s how good the Bulls were back then. Just to beat them during the regular season was a huge accomplishment. lol

      The bulls did go 72-10 so we if I were the mavs I’d be stoked that I was one of the teams that handed them a lost

    Could you imagine if the Bulls drafted Finley over Caffey? Harper/Jordan/Finley/Pippen/Rodman would have been sick.

    There’s an argument Finley was a better player & had a more successful career than C Webb coming out of the big 10 in that era.
    He game MJ Grant Hill kind of problems this game

    Finely started his rookie year off with the Phoenix Suns. The dumbest move made by the Suns was when they traded off Finely and A.C. Green to Dallas

    Finley was bringing it to Jordan. But notice how Finley kept his composure and didn't get too caught up in a scoring battle trying to out duel Jordan. Finley kept passing the ball to his teammates and that's what ultimately got Dallas the win!

    What I don't understand is thst people keep talking about how great of a hustle play that was at the end of the game trying to steal it from Finley but everybody knows if that was lebron everybody would be making fun of him being on the floor without the steal making memes and shit. People need to be fair

    I was there but my friend wanted to leave early because he had to wake up early. We could have sat in the 2nd row at half court after everyone left. I was so mad at him for that. Never leave early because you never know what will happen.

    AAAWWWW~ The good O balling days when they would STRAIGH UP HOOP!! Refs would just let them play and make contact there, it was still a mans game up till somewhere around the rise of the Golden State warriors in the last 4 years now.
