I just started doing slate coasters on my diode, takes me anywhere from 40 min - 1 hours for a single set of 4!!! have the Thunder bolt ordered, so that should speed it up a bit. Thanks for the video!
Love the video. Can you share what square cutout measurements you used for your jig, so as to have each of the coasters to fit in properly? Thanks in advance.
I was looking last-night for a new video from you & was excited to see this today. I am due to get my Mira7 next month & LOVE all your content. You have inspired me so much. Are you using LightBurn?
Oh thank you so much! I appreciate the compliment!! Yes, I am using Lightburn! Still learning but definitely getting the hang of it more and more each day. If you have questions, let me know and I’ll do my best to help! :) Excited for your new journey.
Hello, I enjoy watching your channel! I wanted to ask I you, how are you enjoying your 100 watt Thunder machine, and would you recommend this machine to someone who is on the fence about purchasing one ?
Hi! Thanks for the comment. We still love our Thunder and use it very frequently with no issues. Support is top notch too. I would recommend it but I know the cost is steep. However, with the ability to pay it off from customer orders, I personally think it’s well worth the investment. You could also look into the Bolt, which may be a good option too.
Thanks Angela! Here’s the link to Amazon for the coating. It’s a good safe finish to help the engraving pop out more and the slate to become darker… Natural Stone Wax by CLARK’s - Seal and Protect Soapstone, Slate, and Concrete with Carnauba and Beeswax, Use on Kitchen and Bath Countertops, Enriched with Lemon and Orange Extract, Large 32oz a.co/d/2OiTIg0
Must be one hell of a laser to do it in 18 seconds. And to answer your question, we dont have a fiber laser because that is not in our market right now. We would much prefer to have a CO2 laser that we can vent.

Awesome! The Bolt seems to be the hottest machine out there. Enjoy it!

What are you rubbing the on the coasters?
We used to use a finishing wax, but have since stopped.
Where do you get your coasters from? Great content by the way
Thank you! We’ve bought them from a few different places… Amazon, JDS Industries and Michael’s online.

Why not buy a fibre laser and do 200 in an hour?? (You can get a cream/tan colour on slate with a fibre of you are careful, otherwise white)
