just wanted to point out that the amp settings were for the live set up for the jcm2000s used for black parade era performances, and a jcm800 was used for Black Parade and it seems to be the amp that amplitude plugin seems pretty close to it. if you did this exact video but with a big muff (the pedal ray used for black parade) you would have nailed rays tone. unfortunately us mcr guitarists will never nail these guitar tones head on 😭 but even ray sometimes used a blues driver on stage during that era, you could’ve gotten even close to his LIVE tone if you chose to do so !!
I found two videos where you can sort of see Frank's settings and then I just fiddled with it until I got it to sound close. Makes me want to buy one of thos
The most important part is You need a Genuine Epiphone les paul with TONS of "Tone Stickers" Mashing all those stickers on your guitar will help you get that tone
@@anndynegative ya that neck combo is sick but I’m thinking the bridge is well looks like one of those Duncan’s from the hot rod or slash sets from duncan
Doesn’t matter that much they are all pretty similar hum tones lol as far as pafs pups. In my opinion EMG’s are great too (with all the hate they get lol)I’ve been using those for like 15 years and no matter what I do the guitar sounds like me haha anyway before this turns into a book I’m gonna put something up showing a crazy thing I did with my hot rails strat setup kinda weird but so wacky omg
i use guitar rig 6 normally and tried this settings on a friend's setup. probably because it was my first time using this software but i couldn't make it sound like MCR. not even close actually. I would love it if you put a screenshot of your settings or a direct download link of it.
Listen to it while you tweak your equalizer and/or change its cab configuration. Not all guitar pickups have the same output. Maybe you'd get more accurate results if you follow this video's instructions.
If you want to capture the black parade tone, for frank you will want to run a boss eq pushing mids into a swollen pickle mk2 and into a blues driver. That was his distorted signal chain since three cheers ofc he has lots of effects but if you are using plugins just combine the bd-2 with a fuzz but remember alot of that tone doesnt come from the fuzz. The blues driver needs to be set at 11 o clock on the level knob, and about 1 o clock on the gain knob. The swollen pickle mimicks this aswell. Ray toro on the other hand had been known to use the way huge green rhino on these recordings along side a ibanez tube screamer. Since these are two drive pedals it will get you that lead tone needed to perform his solos. But i would adjust the settings as i havent tried to get ray toros tone yet as i personally love franks more. Something about playing like a lunatic with a fuzz pedal is seratonin to me.
UA-cam should throw money at your for getting into point in 3 minutes. This should be a highest money-making category. I am serious.
Your time is valuable, no sense wasting it!
100% agree, UA-cam needs to stop incentivizing wasting our time!!
I just tried this in amplitude and it sounds pretty good
Def my new favorite tone
@@anndynegative ma'am I asked you this thing a long time ago, do an how to BMTH guitar tone for free maybe using the NAM
this video is how i found out what a humbucker was
Really? Nice!
Same
Great video! You got miles closer to their tone than any other video that I’ve seen of someone attempting to match their tone. 🔥🔥
Wow, thanks!

Have you used a big muff on amplitube? If do what settings!? Many thanks
Holy crap didnt even notice it was the princes and princesses guy
You are correct!
came from Danny Gonzalez’s video, this is sick man!
Nice! Welcome!
Glad I picked up that amplitube plugin when it was like $50 for Black Friday or Christmas a few years back lol

Wow, another 'how to tone like... Series'. The pleasure is all your, Anndy.
So, So many things imma use this for
Can't wait to hear it!
Putting his EQ settings on the shirt was a great idea. Wish more bands did that
What a beautiful tone
WOW!! THATS ACTUALLY RLLY GOOD PLAYING! HOW MANY YEARS DID IT TAKE TO PERFECT THAT? :O
Thank you! I've been playing for around twenty years :)
@@anndynegative WOW THATS SO COOLLLL! >
I found a great marshall superlead plugin on tonex that gets really really close to the MCR tone
amazing video and amazing tone. earned a sub for sure
I just wish I could get amplitube to work with my computer and not give me constant static…
Love this video and that sticker LP!
The static happens when you are using demo versions inside of your chain.
the overdrive pedal is behind a paywall
Ah shit, my bad
ur good @@anndynegative
Where did you get the BD2 settings? The sound you got sounds amazing. That tshirt was gold lol I've never seen that

Thank you!!
What I would give for a website to list this kind of stuff out so people can use it. I’m sure there was one back in the day.
i believe frank iero also used an orange amp stack or head at some point possibly in recording
You are correct, it was during the Danger Days era!
@@anndynegative orange amps definitely work in place of a marshall here with the heavy mid sound
i'm not okay sounded AMAZING with this thank you dude from that one danny gonzalez video you made my day
The preview at the beginning sounded different to the final product, how come? Nice video btw!
The intro song is double tracked (panned L + R) and has a lead up the center. They're the same sound tho, just mix vs solo tone!
I LOVE YOUUUU WNN
YOU'RE COOL
HEY I WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE MY AMOUNT SOUND LIKE MCR AND THIS IS THE GUY FROM THAT DANNY GONZALEZ VIDEO I LOVE THIS GUY!!!
How to make the sound more clean? it sounds "dirty" and "closed" at the end
Help i only have an electar 10 that i got from a player pack 😢 i also have a les paul special II guitar
What was that song that riff ray was playing 2:13
it was the original arrangment of the ghost of you

Nice video bro
One question, If I have a guitar with humbucker pickups, what I need to use? The up or down pickups?
I usually use the bridge (bottom) for rhythms and the neck (top) for leads...but use whatever you think sounds best
I was thinking just... Gain all the way
FACT
MCR does *not* use that much gain. You will not get close if you do that.
Not like up to 10, but theres quite a bit
@@mr.salesman8758 Well, you said all the way. ;) You really don't need too much for their tone.
What bridge pickup do you have in the stickertar?
It's a hot rails set up to push pull as a single coil or a p90. I'm not using it in this video tho

@@wydhart3670 i stick with guitar rig 6. i can configure it better and get a nice tone out of it. thanks for the tip.
do fall out boy next
these are some juicy content
Ayyyyeee
Rip the neck pickup out of everything.
Has anyone managed to get this sound in Garageband?
Does the GB guitar plugin have a similar head and distortion pedal? You should be able to get a similar tone
nice. can you do the same thing but with the black parade?
It should be roughly the same, they used the Jcm 2000 + LP set up until danger days
@@anndynegative they actually sound pretty different ua-cam.com/video/jUn9HLBkHn0/v-deo.html

same exact settinge but mine sounds more bassy and less distorted
Could be the pickup, mine is a higher output one so just push the drive a bit more and adjust the eq to your liking
*cries in I only have a Strat 🙃*
Did you just write the song of the summer?
sick
sadly i only have a stratocaster
If it has a humbucker it will still sound pretty close to this!
it doesn't sadly
just but orange amps lol
They didn't use orange amps for 3 cheers
Friend i dont speak english but i love your video, can you make a video of arctic monkeys first album guitar tone please 🙏
