The fact your son likes skating too is such a blessing man
Yeah my son wanted to start skating, so I bought him a brand new set up and he never touches it. My youngest butt boards though. Maybe someday they’ll be interested but I don’t want to push it
@@johncoleman7308 As i was 13 or 14 all my friends sit at the nicest summerdays indoor play nintendo sega or playstation or other, i was a cheap guy havent any but a old used board and i began to love it. You cant bring your other good half to that what you like, they will dont understood it until they really get it on they own when they want
Disculpen y porque en 2023 se empezaron a utilizar más ? Osea quien las viralizo? V;😢😢😢
These shoes have been hanging around since the 70’s. Glad to see basketball wasn’t it’s only purpose.
Funny I've never seen any one wear pair of these for basketball I always see skaters wearing them.
@@stschannelt1476 If you look at old basketball footage from the seventies a lot of players use to wear them.
@@stschannelt1476 if you play ball in them they will ruin your knees
@@saulgood2548 same with nike dunks, no wonder skaters and ballers get along
@@loma-uu5mg Yeah because technology has advanced. When they debut they were cutting edge. You can’t duplicate that feeling when the sole matches the grip tape. Perfect marriage!
i really miss being able to buy dunks for cheap, the dunk mid was my favorite skate shoe back in 2010-2013. I recently returned to skating and found dunks have been botted to death, so I just buy replicas and they skate just the same, with the functional zoom units
Where do you get your replica’s? I’ve been looking for some but idk if the sites I’m looking at are scams or not
been thinking about just getting some blazers getting impatient trying to win a dunk raffle. the blazers are just as clean tbh.
@@ElmStreet you end up getting them? blazers are my favorite shoe
@@grady.713 yea i got 1 pair of blazers I won 4 pairs of dunks recently tho pretty happy
I used to find dunks at Ross back in the day for dirt skated them before they had sbs
Your boy must be the coolest kid in school... Having a Dad and an Uncle that are ProSkaters.
Ben was never pro
@@kharyan2 I think he means having a dad that is a really really successful and good skater
whos the uncle
@@tyer4946 Ted degros was pro
@@JustinTimbrlake I wonder why he never talks about Ted
Congrats on being able to bond with your son while skateboarding !
Great to see your son progressing, he's in good hands.
Now I got to find a pair of Blazers to add to my already well stocked supply of shoes.
i loved the nike dunk low ones Aurélien Giraud was wearing at the Olympics today
@Andrew Hutchinson hey thanks for dropping the specific name
His kit was dope as fuck
Shame skaters can't get their hands on them. Or in Australia anyway
@@Damoforce It's just more like the people who are getting their hands on them aren't using them to skate ;) Some serious culture vulture shit. Nike could/should drop the SB name on them and would the hypebeasts stop buying them I wonder......
@@ponmlk unfortunately not regular dunks sell out just the same as the sb versions
I totally love your videos and that you're so technical. Always very informative. Cool that you're ripping it with your son. Must feel great.
Thanks for being the one truly reliable skate reviewer on youtube Ben. You are the undeniable GOAT. Keep it up.
Thank you for making shoe reviews, I bought Blazer lows as my 1st skate shoes and loved them. They lasted me for over a year, though I don't skate as often as I would like to.
you need to do tyshawn mids next as a competitor. i hear theyre the most durable skate shoe on the market right now
Etnies Marana micheline are the most durable shoe i ever owned
@@Sentientwolf34 the rubber toe on the marianas is cool, but check out the tyshawn outsole its the most durable out right now. ill blow a hole through a rubber outsole doing treflips before i actually blow holes in the toe caps. and the tyshawns toe caps have two layers of suede and i think a rubber layer underneath as well.
This. The main shoes in my rotation are Emerica (Spanky G6, Wino Slip On, Dickson, etc.), Vans Skate Sk8-Hi or Skate Half Cab, SB Blazer Mids, and Tyshawn Mids.
I love the Etnies Marana, but understand it’s a bit too thick for some skaters. Pre-Michelin, the soles would last 6 to 8 weeks tops with holes and delamination. Uppers lasted me 2.5 months, but I went through the rubber toe, suede, plastic beneath, and 1-2 layers of canvas.
Tyshawns are fire and so are the Busenitz. Every time I got xtra doe I buy a pair to hoard so I can bust out a fresh pair years from now.
Dude yes the tyshawns are amazing. I’ve skated no joke about 4 different pairs and all of them have held up super well. the shoes lasted and the flick was great. Just had some issues with laces ripping. Haven’t tried the lows out yet but the tyshawn mids are so worth it. They are better than blazer mids IMO
Good to see a shoe review from Ben, even if I'm not into Blazers.
Ben, you’re getting better man! Loved the frontside flip out of the bank/ quarter thing. Oh, and the blazer rules so hard!!!! I’m not one to keep shoes after I skate them, but I have kept these white blazers with the gum bottom (Nike iso orange label ones) only because I thought they were the most comfortable, most stylish shoe ever. Oh, and there’s this clip of lance in them skating the tootsie roll curbs… straight magic.
I'd love a tutorial on how Ben does frontside flips. I saw that he's influenced by Mike Carroll & it's funny bc I liked his f/s flips too. They look so in control.
watch you skating with your son made me get so excited to go skate and evolve at it (im 18 now). i wish my dad teatched me how to skate like you are doing with your child. you channel's the best, much love from Brasil :^D
It's such a shame that shoe design has been getting worse in skating. I'd love to skate Kostons first Nike shoe forever but I just default to Blazers now because they're always readily available in nice colours, durable and easy to get
I purchased some of the first addidas busenitz skate shoes about 9ish years ago. Got the 1st and 2nd generation of the busenitz. 1st had such a comfy insole and the 2nd had a much better insole for high impact slightly less comfy but better than the 1st. I purchased the busentiz shoe again last year on chirstmas and its a whole diffrent shoe. It looks the same but the insole was a pancake such a generic cheap one i had to buy a dr sholles insole for it. I did pay dramaticly less but I dont know why theyd advertise a shoe as a skateshoe that sucks.
Love your reviews-honest straight up reviews!!! Thank you Ben!
Hahahah being British that “poofy” bit made me laugh out loud😂😂
lmao
So nice to see you skating with your son! looking forward to skate with my son, hes just 1,5 years now but hopefully i can get him into skateboarding
your son's back 5-0 slappy thing at 9:39 was soooo good I'm hyped to see him feeling good in front of the camera
My son and I skate together and he loves blazers. He's been wanting me to try some so bad and I think I will now. Man your son is killing it btw.
I enjoy watching your son progress, that must be awesome to share skating w him
Here I go about to go buy shoes I don't need again. Great review Ben 👏.
Thanks for the review & Love the father son skate session bro! 👍🏻
Your little dude has progressed so much! Hes gonna be a ripper soon.
Loves ur video one of my favorite youtubers for review!
really proud of you teaching your son to skateboard
Mini ramp skating looking good Ben! I see some new tricks in the bag there. Very nice.
Man, how cool is it as a kid to have a dad skate with you?
Blazers are definitely one of the best vulc shoes out there. I enjoyed the Adidas Superstar ADV as well. I mainly like cupsole shoes, but both the blazer and superstar are amazing shoes. Dunks, Air force 2's, and even lakai telfords are awesome cupsole shoes
Damn, seeing you skate with your kid is awesome man. Seriously wholesome shit. I can only hope my kid is as rad as yours
Rad to see your son progressing so much!
Your boy is progressing really well eh, must be an awesome feeling for you 😊
This is one of the most inspirated vídeos i seen in your channel just cuz you skate with your son i even didnt know that he skate lol but is very good taking in count is age :D such a great vides on this one :)
Got married in blazers. My favorite all time shoe.
Your son is improving!!!
Your lad has improved so much!!!
Love seeing you skate with your son, and how you give off Bob Ross vibes for skateboarding 😁😁
Thanks for the video. I’ve only ever bought Vans and have been eyeing a pair of these wondering if I should try them. My shoes usually wear through on the bottom of my front foot too, so helpful detail from you there. Very cool to see you skating with your son! I’m skating with my youngest this summer too and really happy about it. Looks like you are skating the same park as Andy Anderson. Ever skate with him?
Family fun time vids nice to see folks just enjoying themselves! ✌
Thank you ben this edit was sick made it about the little one. Gonna try a pair and see what's
I skated the Addidas version of this shoe and they were AMAZING
Pro models?
Nike does know how to glue and vulcanize shoes, Vans unfortunately does not. 🤷🏻
I can tell you why you don't get holes in the side of the shoe, because you scoop the ollie's the exact same way I do, with the very front of your shoe.
please keep posting videos you keep me motivate
They run hot for sure. I am skating them right now too. I bought them last year and never liked them, starting skating them last week again. After breaking them in they are amazing.
Can't wait for the day that I can skate with my son.
I bought a pair the other day. For me a bit stiff and lack of board feel for me but only had em for a day, if you say once broken in they a pretty decent. Then I'll look forward to skating these.
The best shoe I ever had was Globe's Chet Tomson shoe. Not only was the shoe incredibly supportive and comfortable, it didn't wear out from kick flips ect. Plus, and this was a huge one for me, it protected the laces by the shoe's tongue. I would go through shoe laces like crazy.
globe didnt have a good reputation amongst skaters really, chet thomas was dope but i always heard people dissing globe alot.
Im an older guy who skates transition and I also love these shoes. Im just the opposite though. The mids are my favorite because they do feel more secure and the lows are my second favorite. Im on my second pair of mid and I have a pair of lows I alternate with. The shoes feel great and last forever.
I love the mids
they’re the best Nike shoe in my opinion. Everytime never disappoints me
Your son is getting so good as well!! You have similar style!
Yes HOT! The old (pre GT) lows had a perforated panel on the side that helped!
Janoski’s Vulcan and my fav shoes by far, the new Nike Shane o Neill ones look very similar and on my list to buy soon
It makes sense it looks really good and skates fairly well!
Good seeing your videos when it’s raining and i can’t skate.
Mr Degros. As happy for you as I am that you're cured of your truck madness I was wondering if you'd approach the topic of risers on lower truck like Thunders &/or Ventures. In my experiance the already short tail feels shorter leading to a higher likelihood of ghost pop. Maybe it's just me.....
I love the blazers. I’m skating the black and white pair now and I just ordered another pair.
they're well built but I had trouble putting them on constantly. they're like boots
I wear them really loose , and can just pull them up now. shoe laces are too tight out of box.
Haha hardest shoe to ever put on. I love how snug my feet feel once they are on though. I always loosen up the top 4 laces to put them on.
Bro just run them over trust me
A few 5 times
is this gifted hater or are u just quoting him?
We all appreciate the effort and work you put into your videos Ben!!
Hope to see you review tiagos numeric 1010. Most comfortable shoe I’ve ever skated 👌🏼👌🏼
being able to skate with your dad has to be so awesome.
Thank you Ben great review
I just posted my first skateboard video (black label skateboard set up) . Thanks Ben for the needed inspiration 🤟🏻
If you like these I'd also reccomend the same shoe but the premium version, they are a little ''softer'' and have even better board feel and flick, are also a tiny but more durable, but they are hotter; so they are great in a little bit colder weathers
I'm not skating them at the moment but I've had 3 pairs there honestly the most well rounded best shoe I've skated I just like trying new things and styles but they are honestly the best
I'm 33 and have skated every brand of shoes out there. I agree with everything Ben said. These are my favorite skates shoes of all time.
Please do a review on April skateboards, I’ve been trying to make my decision on getting one and I want to see what you think about it!
Loved the father son skate session
I tried the GT blazer lows a few years back and they must just not be the right shoe for my foot, felt like my foot moved around too much and couldn't get them to feel good. I put zero tightness on my laces which Im sure makes a difference on some shoe, but I do love the way Lance looks in these
I'm in the process of editing a fat skater man review of these the J1's and the SB dunks. You beat me to it. You are right about lacing up, takes forever haha 🤣
The Blazer low pro GTs been my favorite. If you like the regular lows, I think you’ll love the pro GTs.
What’s the difference
You and your son shred! Just copped a pair, they fit like a glove, but take forever to put on! guess im sleeping in these bad boys
Love your wok brother 🤘🤙👍
Came for the shoe review. Stayed for the wholesome father son sesh. #GOALS
Just skated my first pair of blazers. Loved them, but had the opposite experience in terms of wear. Blew through mine much faster than most other bikes.
Great review Ben. I wore out my last 3 pairs of Nike chargers real quick. Compared to adidas campus and superstars. So you can understand why I’m abit hesitant with Nike haha there soul just wears out faster then adidas
I trust a lot of what you say, so I went ahead and got these! (black/black with the white swoosh) :)
As for price, You bought the blazer premium colourway (not sure why those are 145) but the normal colour-ways of sb mids are about $35 cheaper.
janoskis have always been my favorite shoes for skating but ill been loving the shanes
Your son has been killing it
Thanks for your insights Ben! I don't get how you guys, from north america, are skating nike, adidas, new balance and maybe some idk and not the emerica, dc, dgk, ethnies, és, lakai etc. In Europ, more and more are going for nike (because of insta etc), but it still mainly skateshoes.
Edit: the one I forget was converse of course.
Actually so hard to pick another shoes to buy other than a blazer nowadays , they Just are so good
First pair of vulc i had is Jamie Foy new balance !! Those shoes are amazing but i prefer cup sole in general because primo hurt my feet but i will get another pair for sure.
Noice. My wife bought these for me on our anniversary recently and I was kinda bummed cuz I'm gonna daily them until they wear a bit and I can't skate them lol But I actually got myself a used pair for a whopping 150 bucks, with only a little wear on the heels. Can't wait to see how they skate.
No impact skating- proceeds to do a frigging clean bs flip over the bench XD To me, a guy with my acl mcl and meniscus torn that is an insane amount of impact even with my knee brace. Lol I can't wait to get my surgery this fall man;( tore it all hardflipping a 7 a while back;(
Yeah Ben! Your kid's gonna be a shredder!
If you haven’t tried the Bruin, I recommend it. Skates similar, it’s discounted. I’ve had mine for about a month now and nowhere near its end.
Been hearing good things
the bruin reacts are fyeeeeeee i been skating em to the mf bone but w any shoe id say put sum nice insoles in
@@sekkkinnnbn5456 they are so bad dude I cannot flick kickflip In Bruin reacts, I skated them for like 2 months and lost so many tricks. Just buy blazers!
I love them! As long as their suede I’m in!
Hey Ben you should try out Spitfire formula four classics in 56mm. They're my favorite wheels to skate and I'd be curious to hear your opinion on a wheel that is much larger than what you're comfortable skating with
actually just got my pair . like them allot. do you still have yours?
your sons progression 0_0 !!!!!
I love skating Blazer mids. Luckily am able to get them at a very low price since I live in Oregon (Nike location).
I'd love to get your opinion of the Adidas Tyshawn Mid compared to the Blazer Mid. I personally love skating both shoes.
that seylynn bowl sesh looked sick!! canadian af
Got those and tore my ACL first day of skating!
Sick sesh with kiddo, btw!
I skate with my 6yo too, but with his friends he'd rather use his scooter... You know instant satisfaction of landing tricks.
Sk8 is more an acquired taste. 😅👍
How do you find wearing out the lower half of the outsole? I used to get so frustrated when that happened, it always makes shoes blow out so quickly for me. It doesn’t seem to have effected your blazers though!!
Hey Ben, first off Iove your vids. obviously.
I have a question that my skateshop buddies couldnt answer, but I think you might be able to: assuming my web skateshop does provide measurements for a deck´s width, length, wheelbase and the length of nose/tail; can you somehow tell how much flat space there is between the back bolts and where the tail starts by knowing these measurements?
For example: one of my decks has got a length of 32", wheelbase 14.25" and the tail is 6.5" - overall the kick is relatively steep.
my other deck is 32.125" long, also has 14.25" wheelbase and the tail is 6.75" - the kick is rather mellow, there are more fingers of flat between the bolts and the tail.
the concave for both is supposed to be medium.
I would rather have only very little flat space between the bolts and the tail, but my skateshop cannot help me with that and my local skateshop doesnt have decks the size I want.
the next deck I´d like to buy is 32.5" long, 14.75" wheelbase, 6.5" tail.
do you think this will have a steep or mellow kick?
by the way its only because of you that I got so knowledgeable and kinda obsessed with these things :D thank you!
I want to buy indy 149, but they shorten the wheelbase, and because of you I know that a deck with too much flat between bolts and tail + indys wouldnt be a good setup.
please help me sensei :P
like these blazers. were can i find a pair?
Mine don’t fit, way too tight in my normal size. They sit in the corner in my garage. Wish they did because I love the look of them
It might be because they’re too narrow/your feet may be wide. Try unlacing them all the way and relacing them while your foot is inside that way you know how much slack to give.
@@selfabsorbedsponge7246 Been there done that, the lining on both side of the front of the shoe sink into your toes and it hurts like hell, funny thing, it does that after you wear them for a while, not in the store.
