Gonna have to go back to using the Formula 49. The water based pomade doesn't hold as well. I've tried applying to wet and dry hair, I've also tried blow drying after application. I've got short-medium length, thin, straight hair. About 6 inches on top, tapered down to 1 inch on sides.

Oil or water based. You want to be more dry for 49.

For me, oil based holds alot stronger the water based and won't fail when exposed to water

I bought the original scent oil based, it smells very natural like a lemon soap (thats the best i can describe it), very pleasant and natural smelling
