    my boyfriend is a greaser and he uses murray’s hair grease or the oil based suavacito every day. he just can’t use it during the summer lol bcuz it melts and his pompadour falls. during the summer he uses water based because it holds and withstands heat better. he prefers grease and oil based pomades the most tho.

    Or own both and do a rotation. Use the OB, and buildup on the first days, and when it's time to degrease, style with the WB on top of the buildup in the morning, and let it sit for the whole day, then wash it out in the shower. The WB should eat away the buildup and being a gel-type product, aid in washing the OB out very easily.

    I have the Suavecito original hold (water-based). In the container it smells good but when I apply it to my hair it gets a different smell. It doesn’t smell awful, but it’s definitely not the same/ not as good. Is this normal or did I get a defective can?
    I’ve tried shampooing the night before I apply it and it’s still not as great. Should I shampoo before using or does this not change anything?

    He does not explain the obvious and most important difference: water based hardens out like gel and you cannot restyle unless yoy add water. Oil based stays malleable thoughout the day and you can restyle as many times as you want, without having to add water.

    This is exactly the video i needed to watch! I have always hated using gel or mousse and was looking at tons of pomades. I'm 43 and thank God I'm not losing my hair at all so I figured I'd better start making my hair look good while I still can. I decided to go with the suavecito lol based place because my hair gets real thick (it's super short now...Buzz cut) When it grows out i never know what to do with it so I'm hoping this place will help with that. My question is, can I use the oil based pomade in conjunction with a hair tonic? If so, does the tonic also need to be oil based? I use Jeris without oil. Thanks for the great video!

    • @suavecitopomade
      @suavecitopomade  5 років тому +2

      Awesome! We're happy this video help you out. Oil-based pomade is very different from a gel or mousse. If you've never used an oil-based pomade and are used to products that wash out with just water you might prefer one of our water-soluble pomades. We'd recommend our Firme (Strong) Hold Pomade as you mentioned that your hair is very thick when it's grown out. Firme Hold works great for taming thick/coarse and unruly hair. If you're familiar with oil-based pomade and are going to try ours, you can use a hair tonic in between washes. It doesn't really matter whether the hair tonic is oil-based or not. Hopefully, this further helps you out in choosing the right product for you from our line. Thank you for your support!

      A good thing to know is the build up oil based pomades tend to have, when using some instead of adding the same amount the next day you'd use less, or none at all depending how you like the hold the build up gives.

    What water based pomade can smooth and straight your hair?

    • @suavecitopomade
      @suavecitopomade  5 років тому +1

      No water based pomade can straighten your hair. If you're hair is a little wavy then our pomade could straighten it a little bit and keep it in place but it depends on the cut and texture of your hair. If you want straight hair then you would have to either blow dry or straighten your hair with a straightener in order to achieve that look. Again, it all depends the starting point of your hair. There's a lot factors that go into making your hair straight. It's not as simple as just putting pomade in your hair. Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any more help.
