As far as I'm aware he's always just shared whatever thing he happens to be interested in at any given time.

If he wants to upload a million 10s videos, I wish him all the best, but they should be properly tagged.
I've been a subscriber for years, and sadly, yes: Lindy tends to get a lot of unwarranted crap from his audience. His channel description includes words such as "eclectic" and "silliness", and he's been known to wander into various topics before, stating that he just covers whatever takes his interest at the time. Y'know...the thing YT was made for in the first place. But it seems to shock and annoy his viewership every time, for whatever reason.
I understand if people want to leave because the channel has permanently moved on in content, that the creator has confirmed as such, and that it no longer takes their interest. That's fair. But through the years, people have left or complained for ridiculous reasons, like what they're doing here: "he's reuploading two broken videos at once and adding a new one, unsubbed".
@@kecukraftwork1988 Can you elaborate on where you said that he's confirmed he has "permanently moved on in content"? Did he really say that somewhere, or am I just misunderstanding what you wrote?
I agree that people getting annoyed with his "eclectic" and "silly" content like this when it is stated in his bio is rather ridiculous, and I certainly never minded when he uploaded short videos like this in the past. I think people are more annoyed with how his videos lately have been the exact opposite of eclectic and have all been incredibly similar/mundane. 10 of his last 15 (non-short) videos have been his interviews with the Ukraine volunteer fighters. I think the diversity of topics was what made this channel interesting to a lot of people, including myself, but that has basically been nonexistent for the last year now.
I also could see patreon subscribers being understandably mad with him uploading these short videos if he is charging them for it, but I don't know if he did. And then you are always going to have a myriad of people commenting antagonizing nonsense since they are upset with his handling of the Hannibal comic book.
If he released all of his Ukraine videos in the span of a month or two and then uploaded stuff like this, I don't think you'd see people complain, but the fact that he has a tendency to put out videos very erratically and infrequently (he has been posting content from his two interviews for over a year now) I think has people "on edge" for something new.
@@dhorto27 Sorry for the confusing wording. As far as I know, Lindy's made no public statement that this more recent format of video is going to be his new and permanent way forward. For all we know, it may be permanent or it may be temporary (hopefully).
I see where you're coming from, and I agree that it's saddening to see the channel change like this. I empathise with a lot of the other fans who are asking for when we might see the old style of videos, and I join them in that hope. After all, Lindy's long-form 'man rambling in front of camera' has been a mainstay since the earlier years; it's the bread-and-butter to his channel, and is what most of us are here for.
Lindy isn't the best (or even close to it) when it comes to updating his audience. The Hannibal comic you mentioned is a perfect example of this; while the artist has confirmed it's still in production (and provided evidence), Lindy's delaying, coupled with his silence in terms of updates has led to a lot of understandable anger. This might be just another case of Hannibal: that he is planning on returning to his usual content at some point, but simply isn't communicating that to his audience. This is definitely something I'd say he needs much improvement on.
The Patrons probably have the most power here. Lindy relies a fair bit on them, and should they cancel their subscriptions with a message to him that his content is no longer their preference, he might actually realise what's going on. After all, it seems unlikely he reads the YT comments, and he may not even follow his channel stats.
Regardless of whether it's to do with the algorithm favouring his new stuff, whether he just fancies a change, or whether he's going through some sort of change within himself, the current Lindy stuff appears to be (unfortunately) sticking around for a while. But while it is disheartening, I've seen a *lot* of people unsubbing or harshly criticising over the years for the most ridiculous or smallest of reasons, and this video is another example of that. I can understand due criticisms (as covered by us both), but I've noticed over the years that some of his followers can be less tactful or patient, and more just petty or unnecessarily rude. I guess I just notice it more on channels like Lindy's or Metatron's, because their channels create a *stark* contrast between that majority who are open for debate, insightful, patient or respectful...and those who very clearly aren't.
All the people who were like "oh it's so clever how there's no audio, I totally get it haha", must be feeling pretty silly at this point ...
I thought he did it on purpose too but I had no idea why or what it was supposed to mean. I almost didn't click on this video because I thought he was doing a full series of silent videos lol

This makes a lot of sense. All these different currencies hold wildly different values, but in reality, they are all fundamentally paper... yet we've decided which paper is more precious than others.

Well at one time, it was possible to go into the Bank of England and walk out with £x worth of gold (depending on the denominations of the note(s) you used. That's what that phrase "I promise to pay the bearer..."etc actually meant. This was of course before the value of gold rose to the point it was unviable to give out such tiny amounts. It appears on current notes now, only due to tradition.
