- Season 03, Episode 11 - we finally made it to telluride for some epic skiing! after a 7.5 hour haul, we ripped down to telluride resort in southwest colorado where we experienced a new colorado resort. unfortuantely, their most advanced terrain was not open due to lack of snow fall, but we still made the best of it and did some of telluride's best terrain!

You make great videos and I like that you ski the type of terrain that I ski as well. I am much older than you but have been a weekend warrior for decades. The part that amazes me is the distance you travel on any given weekend. Seven plus hours one way is an ass kicker. You're the hammer. I have always heard great things about Telluride except its low snow numbers. Its kept me away but I think I a good snow year I need to fly out. I am a east coaster. Again thanks your videos have shown me places I need to get to. I have a Ikon and Killington season pass so anything on Ikon is good. I will have to pay up to expand that. Take care

Grew up going there for the last two decades. It is definitely just different every year I remember a year or two with similar snowfall over that period.
GREAT video! I was lucky enough to call Telluride my ski home for a full month a few years ago so very familiar scenes. Luckily had a better snow year going that year. Being a Flatlander from Southern Illinois, I had to watch the elevation as well the first few days. Stayed in Ridgway which was lower elev. and MUCH cheaper! But loved my daily commute and skiing that fantastic mountain 28 out of 31 days. Both towns were awesome and felt like a local. Along with Jackson Hole, Telluride is my favorite area. FANTASTIC in the summer as well!! Looked like you might have found my favorite pizza as well...Brown Dog!!

Great video Lucas! I’m at telluride right now and it is bumped up like crazy. I talked to some locals and was told that they get most of their snow in March and April. It’s awesome seeing you ski the same runs I’ve been on. Telluride is truly a special place for sure. Keep the shred alive!

Been fortunate enough to ski telluride twice and it is easily my favorite resort thus far. You have to get there when it’s all open, the steeps there are sick. Definitely a big boy mountain. Most importantly, grab some tacos at gnar tacos while you’re there.
Gnar Tacos is closed now playboy, you have to go all the way to Ridgeway for them.

Nice timing for me, as I leave for Crested Butte and Telluride next week! The lack of snow is a bit disconcerting, but our planned day of heliskiing from Telluride should make up for some of that. Looks like a beautiful place. Can’t wait!!

I am just going through your videos , just found you a couple days ago . I can tell you Telluride could be the best ski resort in Colorado. It is just like other places it had great snow years and sometimes not so great but always fun .
Mostly bad years. Telluride Has the shortest season also. Their transportation system is lousy. No lift lines.

Wonderful video Lucas , I can’t believe how little snow there is down there in Colorado . Heck I still have two feet of snow on the ground at 2000 feet elevation here in NE Washington state .
NW Washington is actually pretty bad too this season, it’s kinda scary

Such a shame there hasn’t been that much snow this season here in CO. Been hitting a local mountain in gleenwood called sunlight very small but had the best snow conditions I’ve seen compared to vail, beaver creek, aspen, keystone.

I went out west in 2007 and that terrain there at telluride reminded me very much of my 2007 trip with low snow cover amounts and lots of choppy conditions also I had never been to "Breckenridge" before at the time. So it was a lot like what you did there today with new experiences and not knowing the terrain and I also experienced altitude sickness and actually tossed my dinner that 2nd night out. Felt fine after that though.... 🤣 Live the dream bro!!!

Wow, that's dry. Telluride is as good as it gets when it's buried in pow. Some things I didn't see in the video... can spend all day on chair 9. There is also awesome tree skiing off chair 6 (happy thought, buzz's glade). Also Rock & Roll and Rockslide area off chair 11.

Telluride is my favorite resort in Colorado- if you consider going again try to plan for mid January when it’s dumping. Gold hill and palmyra are sick when open! Ps the runs under coonskin you pointed out usually have no snow, ive never been able to ski them

Love seeing your breakfast setup, but would love to hear more about your coffee setup. I see the Chemex - are you a black coffee kind of guy? Coffee is a big part of our morning ski prep every weekend. We’ve been through every type of coffee maker and absolutely love making coffee with an Alessi stove top espresso maker. Just curios. Outdoor dining spots on mtn def have Alps vibe at Telluride. It was good to see your footage to get a feel for how those spots look and ski…unfortunately haven’t gotten to any interesting runs due to all the refrozen/solid icy surfaces the warm temp during the day w freezing temp at night have been creating past few days. Hopefully the incoming snow today and Thursday will make things better. Agree that Telluride is up there w AltaSnowbird, Jackson Hole, (and Taos) but I think the fall line of Telluride and Snowbird are bit more wonky than Alta/JH/Taos…but will need to do more “research” w more ski trips 😬

I love you videos, man. I'm new to the skiing scene. I would say I'm slightly over the intermediate point. I can do double blues and some blacks. What skills would recommend before stepping into bowls and chutes?

Ok, I have recently gone back and watched your van build, which I found both interesting and commendable, in design functionality, and finish. For a lay person (not trade qualified) you are right to be proud of the build. However, I have a question, which I could not see addressed, unless I missed it along the way.
Q. What do you use as toilet? Do you have a portable chemical loo, or just side-of-the-road, and truck stop rest rooms? Asking the big questions here!

Telluride's inbounds "backcountry" with the Palmyra hike, Bald mountain, and Gold Hill chutes is what I think separates Telluride from most ski resorts. I'm going out there mid March. Hopefully they get some more snow!
