    Isnt this Hiza Garuma? Sasae is usaully on the shin or ankle.

    Nice videos, please consider lowering the volume (or even removing) of the background music so we can here the instruction. Thanks!

    Sasae involves the ankle...it's in the name!

    This is very close to Hiza-Guruma this way, isn't it?

      I think so too

    • @AceInose
      @AceInose 3 роки тому +1

      Indeed, seems very close
      But Isn’t hiza approaches from the top of the knee? (Knee joint)
      Love the set up which can seem to hint the other direction (osoto) for opponent reaction

      @junioravila853 3 роки тому

      @@AceInose yeah, hiza guruma is applied in the knee's height and is usually used to block the back leg.

    • @ldzman218
      @ldzman218 3 роки тому +3

      Yes, mechanically this is a hiza. There is no lifting pulling action; rather uke is being pulled around. The point of contact of toris foot and ukes leg is actually incidental because the pulling te waza has primacy

    • @corymoore8562
      @corymoore8562 3 роки тому +2

      @@ldzman218 dont you mean a guruma technique? Hiza just means knee. The wheel motion of the hands is the guruma.

    Odd request: but could you show us how you tie your belt? I’ve always been amazed at the way you tie your belt.

    Great tutorial, but he ocasionally executes a hiza guruma, rather than a sasae tsuri komi ashi, in my opinion.

    I always did it by pulling by the arm, also using my leg that is in front of the pulled arm. Is that correct?

    • @bedhunter
      @bedhunter 3 роки тому +2

      That way that you describe is the correct form. Have a look at the Nage no Kata. It is wrong in the video (he's using the wrong kumi kata), although it might be easier or more effective in shiai or randori.

    You are pulling uke to the lapel side as opposed to the 'sleeve side', and you are applying the 'foot block' right under the KNEE as in hiza guruma, and not just above the foot, as it's supposed to! Finally you are pulling uke "horizontally" as you would do in hiza guruma, and not "upward" as is customary in sasae.

    Parece mas bien un HIZA GURUMA , que un Sasae Tsurikomi ashi. El pie de toki esta casi tocando la rodilla de uke.
