- Thousands of residents in the Lake Arrowhead area were snowed in this weekend due to the unprecedented storm that battered Southern California's mountain communities.

I remember it well loved every minute of it with my husband Jack our wonderful family!
I was in Lake Tahoe in 2017. It looked like this and the snow kept coming until Memorial day.
we had the same in Mammoth Lakes--the ski parking lot had 33 ft--i think it is the same now..
I live in Tahoe, looks like this right now.

People complaining about the snow don’t seem to understand that this is a blessing to the low water levels in every lake and River across California. The drought has been over 3 decades.
Yes, what melts and actually makes it into the reservoirs will help, but most of it will just run off into the ocean (like it usually does).

We checked our ring cam... my cabin is buried and my dock is most likely frozen to the lake. And the roads are closed, so can't even get up there to take photos.
Spray some silicone spray lubricant on the weather trim and where the trim meets the body to help keep the door from freezing shut and to prevent ripping the trim off when forced open. Also, use a lighter to heat the key before sticking it in the keyhole if the lock is frozen. This is what people do when I lived in Maine and Vermont.
Yes, we beach people need help with this much snow. Heck, I survived the 18+ NorEasters of the mid 90s, 93-94 and 95-96 in Manhattan, but this is next level when you bring altitude into the mix.
I live in Canada. There is a far easier way.

This happened to us in Maryland in late January 2016. We waited a while for a snow plow. I hope you don't wait as long as we did for help to arrive. Please stay safe and warm.

Oh yeah this is sooo much fun! Not! Those that want to move out of southern CA to states where it constantly snows in winter can leave. There’s no way I would live in those type of States. I can’t fathom the huge inconvenience of waking up to go clear your driveway or not be able to get out because the streets haven’t been plowed. Nope!
I live in Colorado and we haven't seen feet of snow in over a decade. The most we got this year was six inches...
