Mary Shelley is the Grandmother of Dystopian fiction. For someone who was very curious about the scientific discoveries but never practiced any scientific discipline, her name is mentioned in any subject to with science. Not bad for a women of 22 years old.
Me too, after I first read the book I thought Dr Frankenstein was the real monster in the story, and you see it in this movie as well. He brings what's basically a blank slate to life then he just runs away from him - leaving him in s very hard cruel world he doesn't understand (and who doesn't understood him either). Then as soon as Frankenstein is back on his feet he decides he'll find him and "erase" any trace of what he did - so kill him - he had way too much pride.

This retained the philosophical elements of the original with stellar performances by the cast who really made you empathize with & care about them. But also did incorporate some elements of the original Universal James Whale directed films like creating the creature from cadavers & animating it to life via electricity whereas in the book, the creature is created from scratch & animated through a previously unknown & undescribed process which couldn’t be done in film because in books you can just say how something was done without describing it but you have to show it being done in film or television so they had to change how the creature was created in the original Universal films & here but it didn’t ruin the story. I don't know why most of the novel's readers and viewers of the movies adapted from the work of Mary Shelley would put this story in this genre--horror? On the contrary, it has inspired me to think deeply about life since I read the novel 40-plus years ago. Glad to watch this wonderful movie again. Thank you so much.
Frankenstein was originally written as a late entry to a ghost story competition amongst Mary Shelley’s friends. It was written to be a scary story, so it makes sense it was put it’s the “horror” genre, and the shortened version of the story is roughly Chapter 5 (of the 1831 edition), so you can see how the horror connects. Also, it’s important to remember that we view horror differently now than we did then in the early 1800’s. However, it’s also a book written largely with Gothic and Romantic inspiration and during those periods so it will naturally have elements of life and nature and the way the world interacts and such like you describe. Both descriptions can be true at once.
This film is based on Mary Shelly's famous novel Frankenstein, whose story is related to science fiction in which a dead human being is resurrected by Victor Frankenstein. The story is very interesting...

The only mistake they made in this period piece was Elizabeth wearing purple. It was against the law for anyone to wear purple except royalty, fact. Enjoyed this rendition of Mary Shelly's work.

Why do people in general say that the Creature has a bolt through his neck? What purpose would a bolt have and to what would it be connected? The studs on either side of it's neck were terminals, for the electrical charge to enter it's body and bring it to life.
In the James Whale Karloff’s Frankenstein, there’s a scene where the creature is getting over excited and Victor says “take care Herr Frankenstein” to Karloff…
Okay, you see I don't understand the reaction to bring it to life or him. Then freaking out that he came to life. I don't understand that. That doesn't make any sense That was his intention. He's a man of science It happened the way he expected it to for around. 60% of it anyway. Doesn't make any sense.
Best adaptation of the book by far but i wish the monster looked more horryfying. In this movie its almost hard to understand why people are scared of him. Hes supposed to be a innocent soul trapped in the most horryfying abomination possible. Yet here hes just a pale guy with some scars.

By the beginning of the 1800s, when the story takes place, the sumptuary laws forbidding the wearing of purple had already been abolished.
@@xshiromorixCorrect! The ban against purple was lifted before the year 1600.💙
The story was written in the early 1800's. Nobody wore anything purple except royalty/the very wealthy because the dye was very expensive until the mid 1800's when somebody invented a chemical process to create similar shades.
@@BostonDon But it's not set in the 1800's.
People who were allowed to wear the color purple during the Elizabethan era, as decreed by the English Sumptuary Laws, were the Queen, Queen's mother, children, and sisters, and aunts. The King, King's mother, children, brethren, and uncles.
The Meaning of the color Purple
The color and material used in Elizabethan Clothing was extremely important. People who could wear the color Purple was dictated by English Law. These were called the Sumptuary Laws. The colors of Elizabethan clothes, including the color Purple, provided information about the status of the man or woman wearing them. This was not just dictated by the wealth of the person, it also reflected their social standing. The meaning of colors during the Elizabethan era represented many aspects of their life - the social, religious, biblical and Christian symbolism was reflected in the color Purple.

As a movie enrhusiast I found this to be an Excellent film ! It follows well the Masterpiece novel by 18yr old Mary Shelley! Alec Newman & Luc Goss give excellent performances All acting was commendable! This is a powerful movie!
The best scary movie ever made was Phantasm!!! It was made like in 1979 but let me tell you, The Tall Man will scare the crap out of you!!! Can you please upload this movie? Thank you so much ❤️

excellent, I loved it❤
Love Your movies ❤
Gracias por subir esta película que me marco en mi niñez, me hiciste recordar alguien que ya no esta conmigo, gracias.
A movie called "dead birds" is an underrated flick from early 2000s ... A spooky jumpscare piece set in the civil war days about bank robbers hinding in an old farm house ...its raw and the victems are hardened boys with guns vs babysitter types...with a demon religous vibe
Is it here? Link please.
Thanks for sending this my way. Never saw or heard of this.
It’s in a book you should definitely read it ❤❤❤
Dr. Frankenstein and his monster. After the finale, we had a party.
Wow! I totally forgot this series existed! Thank you UA-cam algorithm.
Thanks for the upload
We have some brilliant female writers from the 19th Century,Mary Shelly being no exception.
I would say 'Frankenstein' and Bram Stoker's Dracula have to be the 2 most world famous Gothic novels.
Lotta good talent in this one!
"The Grudge ll" was not my favorite but it is the scariest movie I've ever seen.
Thanks for the movie!
this is the part that I didn't watch before. thanks for this I almost watch the other part of this movie this was so good. and I want to watch again the 2nd and the 3rd part of this movie.thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
There are only 2 parts, this is part 1 and part 2 is also on this channel.
Thanks for posting
Why do people in general say that the Creature has a bolt through his neck? What purpose would a bolt have and to what would it be connected?
The studs on either side of it's neck were terminals, for the electrical charge to enter it's body and bring it to life.
Great Movie Thanks for the Uplode
Glad you enjoyed it.
This movie is live as hell!!
Damm! Hallmark actually make a good, quality movie.
Movie with Don Sutherland has to be good. 🇦🇺
I didn't know Sylvester Stalone was in this! How cool!👍👍💯💪
Muy buena película y gran reparto de actores.
Gracias por subirla.👏👏👏👍☘️
A very sad story about Frankenstein the "monster."
Yes, the "monster" was also Frankenstein, he being the doctors' creation or, son.
In the James Whale Karloff’s Frankenstein, there’s a scene where the creature is getting over excited and Victor says “take care Herr Frankenstein” to Karloff…
@@saintcruzin I think Frankenstein explores scientific territory. That’s better to LWEA
Okay, you see I don't understand the reaction to bring it to life or him. Then freaking out that he came to life. I don't understand that. That doesn't make any sense That was his intention. He's a man of science It happened the way he expected it to for around. 60% of it anyway. Doesn't make any sense.
great movie well done part 1 oos Gallijess
Such an amazing, wonderful film, thank you .................
Glad you enjoyed it
The new Frankenstein monster is a jab
Superb movie
Thanks for the nice words!
Best adaptation of the book by far but i wish the monster looked more horryfying. In this movie its almost hard to understand why people are scared of him. Hes supposed to be a innocent soul trapped in the most horryfying abomination possible. Yet here hes just a pale guy with some scars.
