Who would have ever thought that Hallmark would make the most faithful, and in some ways the most heartrending, adaptation of "Frankenstein"? They did a genuinely great job.
This film affected me much like the first time I read Mary Shelley's beautiful, terrifying book. It was truly amazing. I have tried to return to another read of this book as often as every year. And I still find new emotions waiting for me with each return. Now this movie will become another tradition for me. Thank you for offering this to us Halloween weekend 2022. A true work of art, on a level of the book. Anyone who has not yet read this book, should do so.
@@abcxyz8787 The film followed the basic storyline. A few changes in the details, probably to simplify the timing and adjust lengthy details. But all in all, both are closer than films in the past. The book is worth the read. An unedited audiobook would make it easier for people who don't like to read books. I'd suggest anyone who doesn't like to read personally, would serve themselves notable improvements on many levels, to add the love of reading to their skills. This book is one that was written by a brilliant writer. A series of journal entries and letters leads the reader through the story. The story starts and ends on a frozen waterway, with interaction between Dr. Frankenstein, the captain and crew of an ice locked ship, is part of the original novel. Very scary part. It becomes part of the captain's log. Dracula, by Bram Stoker, is similarly written in journal entries and letters. It was a popular writing technique of that era, giving the storyline a mystery discovery tilt. This is more entertaining and interacting with readers, rather than the flat out single voice storyline, just written out. Reading old books gives you a view of life of that era.

I remember seeing this film in High School after our end of the year tests. This was a faithful portrayal of Shelley's novel. That gothic work is a depiction of our monsters not as external threats, but as our personalities and psychology that return to us over time. The compassionate loner is a human type.
And Shelley reaches back to the Talmudic scholars of the middle ages who wrote about the Golem, the soulless ones; she, herself, writer in the age or Romanticism.
@@nonyabusiness2510It was more faithful than other films, but in general not that faithful beyond the basic major plot points. Many (unnecessary) changes were made.

I love this version of Frankenstein. When you think of all the Frankenstein movies, all Frankenstein wanted was to be loved. Dean Koontz, author of thrillers and the paranormal, has written a Frankenstein series which is excellent. It is another interesting take on the Frankenstein story.
To think that Mary Shelly was only 22 yrs old when she wrote this absolute classic is impressive to say the least, and on top of that when you consider she wrote it in 1817 when young women lead much more sheltered lives than they do now,I think she's amazing!

Great movie and adaptacion of classic novel. I feel pity for all involved but especially for the creature who paid the highest price. Everyone need to die one day it's the essence of life. Who wants to live forever, only a fool who never truly lived and value time has be given to him. Cherish your time, your memories, your experience, people around you and most important love and be loved cause only love will make your soul immortal after death. 🌹❤️🤗
1:24:00 A minor departure from the original ending. In the book, the creature simply announced that he would ascend his funeral pyre and then disappeared into the cold, leaving Victor's body on the ship.
The entire movie is a major departure from the book. More accurate than other movies, but overall not very faithful. A different ending is to be expected
Believe the newspapers or whatever you want but in my opinion it is obvious that Byron wrote it, it is also written on various parts that he put his hand on it, instead for me he is the author of the book.
Certainly an elegant piece of film making, with a talented cast and good writing. I think that this is the version that is the closest to Mary Shelly's novel. It is certainly ready to dwell on the moral issues and psychological issues, as did the original novel.
“She is so beautiful, she is perfect. So much I want to do with you. Share with you, teach you about life, and love. I have made us a home, our own secret place. We can live without fear. With our children, together.” He really just wanted a wife, someone to just love and feel the love back to him. Even wanting to teach her newer things in life and teach her about love. Beautiful
What ns! I am the only being reflecting such terms / compIiments and love related terms and special names like Isabel / Elizabeth / Eva etc! The misused special name Isabel and the other unsuitable name such as Serrano and the big terms wf and perfect and beautiful and love!

Fabulous film art ... in every aspect. It might be just a novel about two monsters, the creator himself and his creature he brought to life. Related to our modernity and modern medicine, with re-animations, artificial koma and fertilization or surrogate mother, organ transplantation to freezing, gene manipulation and chip implantation into the brain ... this story gives us to think about the conflicts we might have to deal with by overstepping some critical boundaries given by nature itself. Tks for uploading part 1 and 2.
Extraordinary interpretation of Mary Shelley's classic work. As long as my computer lasts, this movie will stay with me. When I have to purchase a new computer, one of the first things I will do is add this film to my library. Thanks very much for the upload.
Such an incredible story!written by a women❤️✨ All the characters are so realistic but i felt very sad for the monster and also for the other characters justin morris and specially Frankenstein also, i think the moral lesson is if you create something, you should take the responsibility of your creation, though it looks bad, you should care of it like a mother cares her child. Such a great thought of Mary Shelley 💫

I never cared for the story and movies about Frankenstein until I watched this mini series. The man who plays the creature, Luke Goss is actually quite a handsome man.
Yes and to me what is scary about him is not his looks or even what he is but what he does. And it not being truly intentional makes him terrifying, to me.

Don't assume what her opinions would be, that's disrespectful. Anyway, this was not particularly faithful. At all. It retained the major plot points and that's about it. I was disappointed in it, and I can certainly say I wouldn't be proud if I had written the book.
There are some emotional moments in Frankenstein that kinda make me sad, Victor’s mother dying of a terrible fever, the monster being hated by humans in the outside world due to his ugly appearance, Justine being wrongly hanged for William’s death that the monster caused, Victor feeling guilty for playing God by creating his monster and eventually putting William and Justine in danger when they were both murdered by his creation, Elizabeth being killed by the monster, Victor tragically dying on board Captain Walton’s ship, and lastly the monster sadly committing suicide by burning himself along with Victor’s corpse at the end of the story. 🧟♂️⚡️🥺😢😭🤧

Excellent adaptation of the book. Very well made movie. Thoroughly enjoyable and of course Luke Goss excels in his portrayal of the monster. Superb 10/10 Thank you Popcornflix 🙏
You're welcome, Maria. Thank you for watching and for the thoughtful comments!
The adaptation isn't very faithful.
Incredible film, colours, scenery, acting, thank you ..................
But not following M.S.'s novel!
@@WalterJoergLangbein in the words of siskel and Ebert, as you might expect in the movies one man plays god he loses, and the monster is soon running free
@@WalterJoergLangbein meanwhile as everyone else is carrying on with their normal life, Victor resurrects a monster with dead human parts with completely disastrous results
What a beautifully made version of the book! Even the music is perfect.
A WORK OF ART! FRANKENSTEIN LIKE NEVER SEEN BEFORE! THANK YOU 🖤
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for watching!
Really enjoyed this. Well done! I always put a movie on when I feed all my mantis and 99% of the time it becomes background noise. This one I actually came and sat down to watch :) Thanks for posting!
I have seen it and I still loved it.❤😊
Great movie and adaptacion of classic novel.
Welldone..and well played once more Frankenstein
People are also like Frankenstein. They are either walking dead monsters who drain other's souls, or they are life givers.
One of the best remakes I have seen. 10 ⭐⭐
Wow !! What a movie this version was the best, I've watched, 😃👍
Not true she just wants attention don't give her any 🙄🤣
Awesome Movie.
Perfect for October Halloween 🎃
Twenty years..bloody ell!..Good work Luke.
An incredible story written by a brilliant woman!
Thank you for watching!
Actually the story is written by Byron even if everyone says no I think so
@@user-dh7gq1db2r The original book is by a woman.
Shelley* and it's really not that accurate
“She is so beautiful, she is perfect. So much I want to do with you. Share with you, teach you about life, and love. I have made us a home, our own secret place. We can live without fear. With our children, together.”
He really just wanted a wife, someone to just love and feel the love back to him.
All the bad things that happen to humnz are a form of karma for their harrible zynz - reIationships are only meant for us pure beings (me & my pure protectors aka the alphas) who are an enjoyable presence aka beings blessed with a pure body that doesn’t ghx one out, and trying to be in a reIationship is a harrible _ / zyn, as is fercing someone into existence against its will and without its consent in a pointI_s morteI world...
humnz are chaotic things born from chaos and the most sakryIegiux zynz that are bound to create more chaos / zyn by continuing the vicious cycle of so-called 'life' if they don't become aware or if all the wrong things such as btg and bngng aren't b4nnedfaster
...almost all humnz only dsv the most afI fatez - to pay for all zynz...
Also, lifting womyn is a beyond harrible _e / zyn - such harrible scenes need to be b4nned from all movies! And plucking flowers and _ing trees are also a harrible _e! Flowers and trees are pure and sacred non-moving beings who reflect me the pure / sacred being, and they should have always been protected from humnz!
Very happy to hear that one of our movies is one of your favorites. Thanks for watching.
It's not very accurate, but to each their own.
Oh my God, I was never so in love with Frankenstein’s Monster like now...
🧡🧡✨🕯🧟♂️🕯✨🧡🧡
Fantastic musical score
Intresring movie jolly good show 🎉🎉🎉
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS GREAT MOVIE!!!!
You're welcome. Thank you for watching!
Such an incredible story!written by a women❤️✨
All the characters are so realistic but i felt very sad for the monster and also for the other characters justin morris and specially Frankenstein also, i think the moral lesson is if you create something, you should take the responsibility of your creation, though it looks bad, you should care of it like a mother cares her child. Such a great thought of Mary Shelley 💫
Finally a film that does this masterpiece honour.
? Watch ROBERT DE NIROS' FRANKENSTEIN.
It is better than the novel, which, while innovative, is not an engaging read at all nor smoothly conceived.
@@PM2022The Creature is more sympathetic in this series than in the book.
It's very inaccurate. It does it no honor.
@@PM2022What the hell are you on about? This movie is significantly worse than that masterpiece, how can you even compare the two? It's among the most engaging things I've ever read. I think you just don't have the attention span to appreciate it.
Make no mistake, this is a morality play. "For what profit a man, that he should gain the world, but lose his own soul."
For some power matters more than anything else and honestly speaking I can even understand them
Great version of the story.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Why Hallmark? I didn't notice it was you. So realistic and beautiful. Thank you.❤
i love this Frankenstien, Luke Goss is amazing and so handsome, this monster deserves his bride 😭
Wow, 5+++ stars, remarkable to bring back, and embellish the oldest lessons of ALL!!! And, what are they?!!! Db
A beautiful rendering of Shelly's book! Will anybody ever be brave enough to take on Koontz's?
I never cared for the story and movies about Frankenstein until I watched this mini series.
The man who plays the creature, Luke Goss is actually quite a handsome man.
We're so happy you tried this one out Kathy, especially since you hadn't previously enjoyed the storyline. And glad you enjoyed it.
Correction he is absolutely gorgeous
Yes and to me what is scary about him is not his looks or even what he is but what he does. And it not being truly intentional makes him terrifying, to me.
Yeah...who knew Frankenstein's monster was a handsome Goth with the soul of a poet?
I would suggest you read the original book. An amazing read! The movie retained the basic major plot points and that's about it; it wasn't particularly faithful.
“Listen, there’s no one left to die.” Truly a classic remake that Shelley would be proud of…👍
Don't assume what her opinions would be, that's disrespectful.
Anyway, this was not particularly faithful. At all. It retained the major plot points and that's about it. I was disappointed in it, and I can certainly say I wouldn't be proud if I had written the book.
Brilliant movie Brilliant actors. 10/10 🇦🇺
This particular adaptation touched my heart...
The Creature's thirst for revenge is more gradual in this version.
Such a sad and painful story😢💔
This is so accurate to the book, it’s ridiculous.
Very moving! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for watching, Jester Moment.
This was amazing! thank you!!
Little bit closer to book but not fully but still a good version of Frankenstein
Thank you for posting 🎉
THIS WAS PHENOMINAL!
they should have made a part three. the grandfather loves the creature..........etc
Magnificent series, UA-cam has opened the door to some excellent movies
Good 👍 movie who was the real monster Victor ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Geez, thanks revealing the script. 😮
Wow,wow the movie is so good I will give it 10\10👍👍
Wow. watching from Coventry England 😊
Luke Goss did a great job as the creature
Thanks for great Movie 🎬 I really like it
