So roti canai or pratha, our famous grilled flatbread served with dhal (parpu in Tamil), was voted the best bread in the world recently and we are so lucky to live in Penang, Malaysia because we have so many good roti stalls here in the state, especially Georgetown. I Googled to see what the public was recommending the most and wow, this stall stood out with over 2820 reviews and most of them were good, with an average score of 4.3/5 stars at the time of publishing. That's why I decided to go try their bread, not just roti canai, but they had roti bakar, kambing, chicken and beef curry as well, and boiled and fried eggs. And good teh tarik and teh o ais limau to wash it all down!
It's the first time we are trying out this famous roti canai stall, and we were surprised that it had more than 10-20 times more reviews than other roti canai stalls in Penang Island, even Hutton Lane Roti Bakar has 1200 less reviews than them!
So we had the check out the hype, is it that good? Luckily it was pretty good especially the curries and dhal. I would say I prefer a more crispy roti canai but this was OK. Friendly owners and nice shade from the sun, great place to start your day!

My preferred way of eating roti canai is: 2 Kosong with either fish curry or dalcha, banjir style and a cup of teh tarik 🤗

Nevet tried the roti canai here although I've passed by the place a few times. Came to eat there but was put off by the limited parking spot (this was before they opened the parking lot across the road) and the place was crowded the few times that I came. In the end, i went for the roti canai at wahab or ceri at dato keramat road
ya same here... the crowds are too much for me. I usually round once or twice if can't find parking also no choice, must give up. 😅

A simple and humble meal is now so lavish with all sorts of meat. Used to eat with curry dhal and sambal only. Asked for more dhal to fill the stomach at same cost.
