"I've always wanted to do this!" RIP Ms. Lansbury. Thank you for the tremendous joy you brought to my life. A true class act!!!
i know her from murder she wrote i wonder if she thought she'd ever play a detective
@@kelsey1467 it broke my heart that all the epitaphs didn't mention her Oscar for her debut performance in Gaslight with Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer.
I saw Angela in the revival of Mame in in '83! She was fantastic and blew me away, especially in Act 2 when she started dancing!
What absolute treasures these two remarkable women are! The world is a better place because Ms.Lansbury and Ms Channing once graced us with their presence.
So talented, so missed Angela Landsbury!
I think people like this live so long because they truly love what they do! R.I.P Ms. Landsbury.
i adore watching older performers transform when their numbers begin.
And how 🎵🎶
How beautifully said!!
we will never see True legends like these again
I miss these Musicals... I know Broadway needs some change at times.. But for me, Broadway was a way to escape reality and real life for a short time. Thank you.
Two legends now gone. Simply the best, Broadway is heartbroken 💔
Ms Lansbury will never be replaced. She was one of a kind. RIP
This brought me in tears: So beautiful to see the 'Old Gals' performing... ❤
Oh My God. I was lucky to see both of these women perform live.
I was so lucky to see Ms. Channing in Hello Dolly and Ms. Lansbury in Sweeny Todd on Broadway, both were monumental performances that I will always treasure.
Wow so jealous
I was lucky enough to see Lansbury in a revival of Mame on B'way in 1983. She was FANTASTIC!!! She could kick her legs up just as high as the younger cast members. I've never cared much for Channing other than her bit in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Hollywood is FULL of a lot of JERKS! The REAL TALENT in on Broadway! You can't call "Cut" in front of a LIVE audience!
Two truly wonderful performers, both of whom I’ve seen live. I know it’s showing my age, but, you don’t see them like that now!!
IT
So true
You said it!
What a 💎! Two GOLDEN GALS from Two of my favorite SHOWS ✨ 💛 💖 💕. If only ETHEL MERMAN could have been there 😀! 👑 👑. 👑
I love the way Americans honor their great artists till the end of their career!!
There will never be Broadway legends like this ever again. I will love you both forever.
Sutton Foster could come close
Two amazing actresses of stage and screen, both so sadly missed.
I’ll never forget her acting skills in “Gaslight” at only 18 years old. She has been so talented in everything she has done, TV, stage, silver screen: comedy, drama, singing or dancing! Thank you so much! We do appreciate & love you!💕🤗
But did you manage to see her in a movie entitled, "Something for everybody," where she comes to a wedding dressed in all but a mini?
Is verónica triste tío lady Agela Lansbury and Carioll Channing
So beautiful musical arranging for the three wonderful stars.
Jerry Herman, Angela Landsbury and Carol Chaning.
This is what "fabulous" is in the language for.
Two legends! What wit, timing and outstanding voices they both demonstrate
Oh the fabulous 1960s! The zenith of musical theatre. There was more genius in the future and past, but the 60s are unrivaled for shows that never lose their charm.
And, of course, this is theatre history at its sweetest. These two ladies gave us theatre memories with their incredible creations of Mame and Dolly that we will never, ever forget. What a nifty, tricky arrangement and what swell comradeship.
I wanted to hear these 2 legends sing together, but it was still exquisite.
@@sheristewart3940 I agree. To hear them singing a Jerry Herman together would have been even more show business history.
Two great legends! Both gone but never forgotten!
Two gracious ladies-God bless them Both!!!
Happy Birthday Angela! I miss you Carol!!
This Is great!! Thanks for posting!
this two legends are now the new stars in the sky. Thank you girls for your legacy.
Two legends, equals unparalled perfection!
My sister and I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Channing when a touring production visited Toronto in the early 90's. The show-stopping number had the audience members on their feet for at least a good 5 minutes at the end. She looked at the rest of the cast as if to say, "What now?!" and they encouraged her to revel in the moment. She was SO happy. It was unforgettable!! ❤❤
Got to see Carol Channing twice. 1st time was in Lorelie in Chicago about 1972 and then Hello Dolly in Milwaukee a few years later. Simply amazing.
Simply Fabulous. She will never lose her charm. What year was this. Such a doll. Carol was fantastic as well. RIP Carol
I didn't notice at first that Carol was wearing a cast. She's truly a trooper!
I love how much she loved an audience. She was so genuine.
And of course a sparkly bracelet dresses it up♥️
I'm worshipful of both of these overwhelming legends, but I'd have told you they never appeared together. This is INCREDIBLE!! I'm blessed to have been able to call Miss Channing my friend, and I miss her terribly. BLESS YOU for posting this!!!
David Shine you always capture magic!
Two truly.GREAT LADIES that can brighten everyones day with a performance like this. Thanks for the Memories. RIP Miss Channing

..
Lucy was terrible in Mame. Striesand was terrific as Dolly.
@@leonarddaccardi7196
Both Lucy and Barbra were wrong in the roles Carol Dolly Channing and Dame Angela Mame Lansbury should have made in the movies
@@dianaaljadeff2983 I agree!! I love Lucy & Barbra but those parts belonged to Carol & Angela.
Utterly jealous for not been there to see them together! But very grateful you have posted it! Thank you very much.
I never knew that I needed this! Jealous of that audience. And so grateful this was filmed and uploaded.
WOW! What great performances! God Bless them both.
Hello Susan
How are you doing today?
The best never dies!!!!!❤❤
Chapeau to one Broadway legend assisting another Broadway legend in this iconic meeting! Dame Angela Lansbury saved the legendary Miss Channing absolutely selfless when Miss Channing was lost in the whole scenery... both are irreplacable!
True pros who love the spotlight are mesmerizing regardless of age! Called genuine talent!
Two giants or Broadway together! Amazing!
This just makes me so ridiculously happy.
How lucky I was to have seen real Broadway on Broadway!!😊
Beautifully done ladies!!! Love them 😆🌷🌹💋🎤❤🎼🎶🥰🦋
Hello Linda
How are you doing today?
A-MAH-ZING. This was a joy to behold. I hope those young dancers grasped how fortunate they were to be doing this with two LEGENDS. Ron Abel - I love you! David Galligan - thank you.
Do you know Ron Abel? I wish he would post what he has of his cabaret shows with Gotham. Legendary. Why Ron Abel is not a household name, I don’t understand.
Those were not "young" dancers, neither in this TV show njor on the Broadway stage. They were middle-aged -- but terrific -- dancers, so the leading ladies wouldn't look like Tutankarman next to them. Stars ain't stupid.
Happy 96. Birthday, Dame Angela!
They don't make them like that anymore. God bless them both.
Absolutely charming!
True stars. Real diamonds.
Great stuff from 2 Broadway legends!
I love Angela 💖
Dame Angela Lansbury welcome home.So so proud you are British. A wonderful Lady.xx
Takie widowiska i takich wykonawców chce oglądać i słuchać. Super. Dobre. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
what a treat. Carol was legendary for never failing to show up to perform. Her understudy had the worst job in New York. the old trooper must have fallen and broken that arm and she needs extra assistance, but nobody cares least of all the gracious Angela. They honor each other and everybody else peeks in. By the way, how many dancers ever got to say they danced both of these numbers with the orginal Mame and Dolly performing with them while the lyricist Herman, was in audience ? You are looking at total number in this clip.
Thank you for your comment! "Her understudy had the worst job in New York" made me SCREAM of laughter!
I've been working with "Gypsies" for a Musical decades ago. Since then I know WHAT kind of hard work, every performer delivers every night!
@@hansmiller664 JoAnne Worley. Was she Carol Channing's understudy?
I think the assistant was there mainly because of her very bad eyesight...The stairs would have been a major obstacle
Had the biggest smile on my face watching that!
Carol Channing was the definition of tour de force! What a wonderful broad!!!
Dame Angela Lansbury was no slouch
I will never forget attending to an interview with Angela Lansbury at the New School of Social Research., in the late 60ds. During it she had a glass of white wine, at a side table and insisted that she would like to be addressed as Mrs Shaw, instead of Ms Lansbury.
That was wonderful. Thank you so much for posting it -- these two Broadway legends together.
Two of my very favorite performers of all time. True class.
They sure are a class act !!! Two charming talented ladies !!!
love it--two real troupers--10000s of hours performing YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two legends together in a Double tribute Carol Channing(1921-2018) and Dame Angela Lansbury (1925)
Both of these treasured gals lived to the 97 year mark!
Thank you, David, for posting this
I saw Carol Channing with Mary Martin in Legends right before Mary died and Larry was in the audience. Mary was struggling but Carol helped her out
Fabulous talent. Rest in Paradise Ms. Channing. 👌🙂💜🙏
For all theatre-afficianados: You can't better than this. Sing along loudly, and get off you chair and dance around the room in joy with all that can bring one, if you get it a chance.
This is an awesome share. Thank you so much!! 2 Wonderful women!!
This is a musical masterpiece!!
That is TALENT. Love them both.
Saw Ms Lansbury in Blithe Spirit in London West End. Fabulous performance.
This made me smile from ear to ear. Thank you!!!!!!
The Original (Mame and Dolly ) of Broadway true Stars RIP Carrol Channing.
Looking at the troubles, deceivings and tortures the U.S. (and not only them) had been through, THIS is the TRUE, RIGHT and GREAT America!
Two gifted legends, that gave joy, fun and real entertainment to the WORLD, honouring each other!
This is craftsmanship!
Showbiz, of this kind and KINGSIZE, is a true American heritage!💐💐💐❣️
Btw. I'm 100% German🧐😃😂
Sehr gut Herr Miller. Es tut mir leid dass gefält dir.
@@davidshine7311 You are sorry, that I liked this video?
@@hansmiller664 shows how much I have forgotten my German! Freut mich, dass es dir gefallen hat.

All the best to you!!! from a German guy in Cologne. (Yes, where that Eau is made😂🤣😂)👋👋
@@hansmiller664 Ich liebe Köln!
2 of the grandest Lady’s of the musical theatre
That have brought joy and laughter to many a audience
I just accepted it as a fact that Angela would go on forever. We all love you both.
THIS??!! Mind blowing!!!!
CLASS, PURE CLASS
Two iconic legends! God Bless them both
The two old ladies are lovely. Carol Channing's radiant smile and Angela Landsbury's pure zest for life, wonderful.
Greetings from Germany.
Rude. All that is in your worthless mind is “old”? Ugh. Germans. 🙄👎
Dear, Angela Landsbury is now 95. and Caroll Shanning is deat. Sorry. At that time they were already old.
And if you had as much intelligence as you pretend, you would have understood that I meant that kindly. I love the joie de vivre of the charming Angela Lansbury. And I love the radiant smile of Angela Channing. And I like the humor of both of them.
@@kapi4658 We know what you meant Ka Pi. You made a very nice comment. Especially the part about Angela's Love for Life. I knew Carol Channing personally, and she most definitely had a love for life as well. What you said was spot on. Carol was an extremely kind and gracious person, regardless of the mishaps of other people. She handled herself with such poise and class. That's just truly how she was in real life. Which is how you chose to give your second response just now even though you were attacked when only trying to say something nice. Carol literally would have been proud of you for how you responded. She would have reached over and given you a little squeeze and a wink and said something like "THAT'S the way to do it!" Always gracious, and always encouraging.
@@shirleytyree276 thank you for the nice comment. I am a little bit sad, because never i seen this Ladys in personslly, but they are wonderfull and great Stars in Germany too.
Excellent performance by two wonderful actresses who are both beautiful and talented! Thank you both!!!
Hello Susan
How are you doing today?
Brought a smile to my face. Two amazing talents with so much class
Anyone else get just the least bit misty-eyed? Lump in the throat? Nostalgic? Yeah. Me neither ... {{sniff. sniff.}}
Thank you for posting this. Really cheered me up.
I love Angela Lansbury ❤❤❤
R.I.P wonderful sweet Angela Lansbury. You'll always be missed. Now you can sing with the angels in the sky x
These two, esp. Ms. Lansbury, got better as the years went by. You can't say that about everyone in the performance arts.
Rest In Peace Angela along with Carol.
I literally searched for these two names to see if they ever did anything together. Both such icons, I’m glad this exists.
Lovely lady's so sad they gone
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble.
When you're perfect in every way.
❤️ 💙 💜 💖 💗 💘 ❤️
Hello Suzie
How are you doing today?
All I can say is WOW!
May the BOTH RIP and I pray sing this in HEAVEN!!!!!!!!! ICONS
I was waiter number 2 in my high school production of Hello Dolly. Still love it to this day. A few years later.
Gran fusión de dos grandes musicales, para dos grandes actrices. Un momento que queda para toda la vida.
Carol Channing with her arm in a cast. They don’t come along like them what a treat
...brought me to tears watching this again....
Goodness! Look at the definition in Channing's upper arm!! May I be so. lucky at her age
Hello Sarah
How are you doing today?
I want to be like Carol Channing when I am 70
The apex of show business. Absolutely captivating..
This is fantastic! If you didn't know much about these ladies, you would be very confused
That is the question-how many people know how important Ms. Channing and Ms. Lansbury were to theater and film, talent (the word is an understatement) beyond anything we are seeing today…
Hello Lucy, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you.
Two LEGENDS...................
