I wonder how many people knew that Carol Channing was also African American. She was told her heritage at age 17. Had her heritage been known, she would not have been allowed those songs or roles in America. Carol Channing broke many barriers. Look at her performance. Research her education and life story. So dragged out that I could not stay to watch this. They should not try to milk every second of applause as it turns viewers away, but, of course, they were singing to a live crowd. Oh, well, not for me. Requires too much patience.

I literally searched for these two names to see if they ever did anything together. Both such icons, I’m glad this exists.

What year was this performance??? It must be one of the last times Channing performed live like this? It makes me sad that this new generation of LGBTQIA+ kids doesn't know these iconic women like we do and did. Both of these ladies were such powerful people in their own rights. I will never forget attending to an interview with Angela Lansbury at the New School of Social Research., in the late 60ds. During it she had a glass of white wine, at a side table and insisted that she would like to be addressed as Mrs Shaw, instead of Ms Lansbury.

Ms Lansbury will never be replaced. She was one of a kind. RIP
