Unfortunately when one has exhausted all avenues with drug addiction, you have to let go for the sake of the family who are tormented by the wayward one's behaviour. They need the chance to live their lives unfettered by the drama that addiction brings to a family. They are entitled to freedom from those stifling bonds.
Yes - it’s called tough love. Sometimes when you try to help someone through an addiction you become the crutch that keeps them an addict. If you have tried everything else you have to let go. That is what I feel he did with his son. This way his pain will see he is strong enough and love will give him motivation from family that Chris Will find his way back to his family . God hears prayers . Keep your faith. When one clinic doesn’t work find another and continue till you find the one that works. It’s exhausting. I know first hand. This journey rips you apart. I understand Pierce's heartache over his son. Letting go is one of the hardest things you will ever do as a parent. But when toxic relationships begin to overshadow your relationship with others it is your love for that person that tells you it is necessary for both of you in order to heal. Christopher has to learn to stand on his own two feet and be proud of the positive things he can accomplish. But with any sort of addiction it has a strong hold on you until you have hit rock bottom. Christopher has to take that trip in order to become humble and forgiving. I pray he can do it. I pray for Pierce to not have any guilt for what he has done by saying Goodbye. If Christopher can get his life together and do the work it will be one of the sweetest Hello's when he sees his Dad again. I pray he can do it before it's too late and he loses his Dad for ever.
