And Fagioli is a formidable and unsurpassed interpreter of these wonders.

I have left comments before regarding both parts 2 and 2 of this superb concert. Franco and Armonia Atenea are perfect as always. One cannot fail to see the enthusiasm of the pretty blonde violinist; she is totally carried away by the whole spectacle. I have noted that in subsequent concerts she appears far more subdued? Just an observation. Anyway I still get the greatest pleasure watching this Gala Vinci concert and ALL baroque productions on a daily basis. TV is on baroque from UA-cam daily.

The run at 3:37. Scarlatti before Vinci could not do that. Nor could Bach or Mozart after that. This is sound never heard before in the history of music.

And yet Marmontel was not the only one to think so. Vinci WHO? Vinci's music is the ultimate proof that modern Western music is Italy's gift to the world. Mengelberg wrote in his book on Giovanni Alberto Ristori, another completely forgotten Italian musical soul at least as good as Bach and Mozart, "Italy is the mother of all music." In one of the greatest and all comprehensive histories of music, by the very erudite Joseph Schlueter (u with Umlaut), written in German in 1863 and already translated into English in 1865, one finds the following statement: 'It is with the Neapolitan school...that the History of Modern Music commences-insofar as that music speaks the language of the feelings, emotions, and passions." The screeching top notes, labored and forced and covered middle register, the face-pulling, and the generally “forced” quality of this voice is difficult to watch and not easy to listen to. Not for me this.
