These ladies are currently vocal/music PROFESSORS at some universities in South Korea. They were once under YG Entertainment (same agency as BLACKPINK), they left at around the late 2000s and disbanded in 2011 but reunited in 2021 with the song you heard at the end.
These ladies are original of YG entertainment. They started in 2003; disbanded in 2012; & reunited in 2021. They celebrated 20 years with a 3-day Christmas concert last year (2023). They recorded their 6th album after the Killing Voice which is a medley of all of their songs. The solo song was written by Lee Young Hyun after a breakup in college whereupon she locked herself in a room for 2 days and wrote the song titled "Resignation". It's a very famous song and covered by many artists; most people don't realize she wrote/composed that song. Even till today it's very popular and the most requested song in Karaoke rooms. They were named Big Mama mainly for their strong vocals. Left to Right: Shin Yuna (50), Lee JiYoung (45), Lee Young Hyun (42), & Park Min Hye (41). They're currently professors in the music department at certain Universities. Yuna recently got promoted to Dean at Howon University. She was previously head of the K-Pop Department there. She is does all the arrangements in BM's performances. Two of her former students are members of the BTOB group. Lee Young Hyun & Park Min Hye come from the same agency (Hoent) so they duet a lot together on shows. Lee Young Hyun is the most active (amongst all of them) as far as performing in variety shows. They all have recorded solo albums. I, too, love their vibe & believe they are the best female Korean group of all time; their skills (technique, harmonies, etc.) prove it! They have great individual voices and their tight harmonies sound like one voice. I can listen to them all day! Even today, their performances are outstanding! Check out some old footage of them & compare them to current performances; you won't be disappointed!❤🔥
Thank you for truly appreciating and enjoying the performance! This is my first visit to your channel, and I’ll definitely check if you've reacted to 'Sohyang' and 'Forestella'. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend both. You won’t regret experiencing the world-class vocals of Sohyang and the incredible harmonies and vocal prowess of Forestella, a male crossover quartet.
I love these ladies they're vocals are amazing and Brooke was right on the second to last song when they were singing that part they did switch parts y'all reaction was awesome and you're right there isn't enough good break up or love songs anymore
Big Mama, Fantastic... you might also want to try Red Velvet. They debuted within a month or two of Mamamoo, another group known for Harmonies, especially their Velvet songs!
Big Mama, SPICA, MAMAMOO, NMIXX The most vocal harmony focused girl groups where anyone from the group can join any group and be a main vocal contender Since yall reacted to Big Mama and MAMAMOO, I recommend SPICA (currently disbanded and no Killing Vouce but very underrated vocals) and NMIXX (their discography is a little strange, but their covers and twist renditions are amazing)
Could you guys please react to Big Mama’s It’s live performances: Love alone, Like nothing happened, and Thanks to. It’s like the Killing Voice but with a live band.
It's actually kind of interesting that you mention BTOB in this video, because 2 of the members of BTOB were given vocal lessons by a member of BIG MAMA when they were in college for practical music.
Great reaction. I found Big Mama through BTOB's cover of this 3rd song, "Woman": ua-cam.com/video/lKTlYN6UED4/v-deo.htmlsi=rPoueGS6bg9spPCU (start at 2:01) Both groups are incredible in terms of vocals, harmonies and ad libs. Thanks for reacting to Big Mama.

YESSSS! Also do you know BTOB covered their song 여자 at a show??? So beautiful as well given that some of the BTOB members were students of Big Mama!
