    That is a badass sound. Love the low pitched tones. Can’t stand that high pitched squeel Civics make.

    Amazing I think you're the first to do this on a Mazda 2!

      Well, second, technically. I bought it from another 2 owner.

    So I’ve put 100,000 miles on my 2011 Mazda 2 and it’s now at 222,000 miles. It’s always had a cat fault setting the CEL with no running issues but recently it start cutting out when under load while driving. Doesn’t cut out at idle. Seems to get worse when it warms up. It’s not setting any additional faults. I’m thinking my best bet is to try and monitor fuel pressure while it’s acting up to see if that’s the issue. Any thoughts. I know you know these cars well.

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  Рік тому

      Have you checked to make sure the cat isn’t the problem? (Clogged, etc) Or that it’s not a bad O2 sensor?

    • @mosierwerks
      @mosierwerks Рік тому

      @@HiroshimaSpirit I was thinking clogged cat. What’s the easiest way to test the cat for clogging? I did notice my scan tool has cat temp.

    Not really exhaust related, but do you know any intakes for the 1.3 version from 2010? I can't find any, and i'm wondering if i should build my own instead. What do you suggest? Anyway, huge fan of your channel

    • @HiroshimaSpirit

      Any intake made for a 1.5 will fit a 1.3. I recommend DDMWorks, same as I have.

    Hey man, great video content as always! Wanted to ask you.. does the 2013 mazda 2 and the 2012 or 2011 mazda 2 have the same tail lights? Or do they change somehow? Also regarding the exhaust. When you change the oem muffler and exhaust pipe. I've heard that you need to do like a "tune up" or something like that so the car can run better. Did you do that on yours and if so what's the name of the actual procedure so I can look more into it.

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому +1

      They’re dimensionally the same and as long as you’re installing lights originally sold in the same market as your car, they’ll be the same. Installing Japanese or European market lights on my US model would require modification because the wiring and layout of the bulbs are different, for example.

    • @JoseRamos-ro4vl
      @JoseRamos-ro4vl 3 роки тому

      If is not the same as mine the wiring modification is it complicated to do?

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому +1

      Probably not, but I don’t know. I’ve never done it myself. I also avoid wiring at all costs.

      @@HiroshimaSpirit I see.. if the exhaust pipe was wider it would've to be done though, right? But I heard that even if the pipe isn't bigger, the fact that there is more flow on the exhaust due to less restriction from the muffler it might still need to be tuned just so that the vehicle can drive at optimal conditions. I might be misinformed but wanted to ask just in case because I trust the info you give us the viewers more than anyone else out there

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому +1

      You don’t have to do anything when you install an intake or exhaust. However, you can have the ECU tuned and optimized to make more power with those modifications.

    great sound. any tips on paint touchups on the inevitable scuffs, scratches, and dings? or any tips on how to to keep the gross crud from getting around the back hatch frame... always embarrassed to open the hatch up if i havent had a chance to clean up

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому

      I’m not the bodywork type of car guy, unfortunately. Mine definitely isn’t perfect either, but in my opinion dents/scratches happen and it only adds to the car’s story. I’m the ‘driven, not polished’ type.
      As far as the hatch crud, there’s no way I can think of to help that. It’s just one of those things. Though, to be fair, my 2 that does have a spoiler gets less debris back there than the one that doesn’t.

      ha i feel that. just feel sad when i wash my car and notice the infinite more little marks and dings and driving in midatlantic i dont want them to turn to rust spots.

    Hey man, got the exact same car with same intake. Got a new muffler welded and was wondering if you got error codes from cutting the stock cat + resonator ? Or does it only throw the error codes when you cut the “big ole” cat?

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому +1

      You only get error codes from removing the big cat in the manifold, aka installing a header. The second one is just a sniffer cat with no sensors.

      If nothing else an exhaust helps you not become a crash statistic. lol Tiny cars often lose, but being heard helps.
