I agree completely. It sends shivers down your spine and puts you in a trance. She was an absolute freak of nature. That voice was literally from heaven, as if she was channelling that voice from elsewhere
Amazing how the Carpenters can reproduce their sound "live" onstage to sound like their end product from the recording studio. Simply astonishing. Forever a Carpenters fan. Thanks to UA-cam, I'm able to experience their many performances live after owning all their US released LP's. Just starting to collect their CD's.
So ridiculous what they put up with in that era. Can you believe that critics criticized them for their live performances sounding just like their studio recordings! Isn't that what other performers can only dream of? In fact when you listen to these live clips Karen's voice and improvs are even better than the recordings, you can hear her backing and harmonies better live and they are so pure. I so envy people who got to see the Carpenters live. I was just a child and should have begged my parents to take me.
Ours generation was privilege to witness a Superstar MS Karen Carpenter RIP (1950-1983) She was born in the year of the Tiger 2022 is the year of the Tiger We still can hear her roar for an eternity
Are these Australian live performances the best singing we heard from Karen in her lifetime? Certainly in 1972 the Carpenters were top of the World, and top of the charts - all fizzing. I love this live performance of "For All We Know", quite a difficult song to put across live. Taken a fraction faster than the studio - at the discretion of the drummer perhaps? :) But Richard's piano spot on. And Karen so captivating, so expressive! This is a real zenith for popular soft rock I believe.
Nice and thoughtful words. But take a look and listen to her performance of this song at the "Live at the BBC Concert" from 1971, of which there are multi-videos on UA-cam. It's a real cultural treasure, both the quality of the singing and the beautiful presentation.
If you want to here and Angle sing just listen to this and you have heard it. Karen Carpenter is back in Heaven early because God needed this Angle back to here and enjoy in person. Thank you God for at least leaving us a way to listen to Karen through mechanical means, recordings. :)
Que voz tan armoniosa de. Karen , paz en su tumba ,ya casi 40 años sin ella, gracias Karen gracias carpentens . Por darnos este regalo de voz y su musica
In her career as a singer, since day one she didn't hit any bad note because she's pitch perfect since the very beginning, even in her sick days till she died... 💕💝💞
💖✨ recording @ A&M Studios they called her She hit it perfect most of the time & it's said She refused to re-do vocals > at such a young age w the World's best Studio musicians 💎 Karen we 💖 U
When Paul Williams went solo and sang/recorded We've Only Just Begun, it was his voice that filled venues and sold records just like Karen's voice filled venues and sold records
Si, yo me quedé en éste video escucharla para ver si no había trucos de audio, pero no, hermosa su voz. No entiendo porque su hermano Richard no le llora cada vez que la escucha perfecto en otras voces. A veces pienso que es un Psicópata.
porcelaincougar this song is a b*tch to sing, much less play drums on. I've been singing 25 years, drums for 8. "Strangers" is the hardest word because it comes early, on the "and of 4," and not on the 1. "-Gers" is the downbeat.
In her career as a singer, since day one she didn't hit any bad note because she's pitch perfect since the very beginning, even in her sick days till she died... 💕💝💞
Everyone mentions this auto tuner, and how this or that person didn't need one back then. None of the music from the 60s and 70s used them. It wasn't fuckin' invented yet. Now a days when they let people who can't sing worth a shit make records, based on their looks or some shit, they might just need all the help they can get to pass themselves off as actually singing.
Did she REALLY need to be playing the drums on this song? It's just a snare keeping the tempo going. Such a pretty song; she should have been able to stand out front on this one for sure...
ShadowSarah Yes, I'm a huge fan and have everything they ever recorded and have read pretty much all that has been written about them. Since she DID come out front for so many songs during this time, this should have been one of them as well, since it isn't a song that requires much drumming, and didn't really show off her drumming talents. Mr. Guder was one that was good for her to drum on because it's pretty rhythmically challenging, and shows off her skills, and isn't a romantic song, so it seems more appropriate. Who knows; maybe she just wanted to sit down during this time in the concert...
fool4singing Ah, yes, another NON-drummer! That really makes me mad. She was a DRUMMER first, mind you. And I'll tell you the part: kick 1, uh 2, 3 uh 4. Hats on ands. It deviates 5 times, in which case, the pattern is 1, 3, 4 on kick. It took a long time for me and a guy playing 49 years to get every hit accounted for, plus the singing, which is my specialty. Please note, if you loved HER, you'd know she wanted to be behind the drums, because singing and playing is better than anything. To force her out was frankly what killed her. So, it's GREATLY insulting to tell us the wrong part for this song.
Just a comment from an outside observer but to me Karen looked the happiest when she was sitting behind a drum set and singing. I understand why they wanted her up front but to me they kind of trampled over her dreams and desires for the benefit of fame and success. Its too bad. She should have told them to screw off and started her own punk rock band and played the drums!!!
Greatest female vocalist of all time. No one else compares.
Ohhhh my. The unembellished beauty & emotions she sings with brought me to tears 😥
The purest, most beautiful voice in music ❤
Greatest Contralto voice ever !!!!!
Karen's voice was astonishing on recordings...but wow, the purity of her voice and her delivery live is otherworldly.
Well put! No one compares!
I agree completely. It sends shivers down your spine and puts you in a trance. She was an absolute freak of nature. That voice was literally from heaven, as if she was channelling that voice from elsewhere
Somebody else said it somewhere else.............. but Karen was singing in HD..... BEFORE there was even HD!!!
Amazing...Masterpiece
Karen tonight you will help me go to sleep. Thank you. ❤❤
And this is live best voice ever
Incredible voice. Karen Carpenter - the Best Female Vocalist, Ever!
It makes shivers run down my spine. She had one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.
So pretty and no she didn't need an auto-tuner.
The most soothing voice I have ever heard. When Karen Carpenter sings the lyrics "I'll feel you close to me," it is so sexy! I love you. ♥
Perfection. Phenom. Class all her own .
For sure!
What a voice. Nothing will ever compare.
She was so beautiful...
+lux54 Ultimate girl next door look.
Man, what I would give to have had the chance to see them live. They sound absolutely incredible.
Her voice is something supernatural! !!! Please realize she was singing live! !!
💖 Yeah , in the Studio they called her 1 take Karen - she hit it perfect most of the time & it's said She refused to re-do vocals ... & at a young age
After all these years this song and her voice are still stunning.
More popular now than ever ‼️
And unmatched 💕💞💝👍👌
The greatest Contralto voice ever anyway , no one even comes close !!!!! ❤️

Its called extreme talent ! Karen Carpenter , enough said ! ❤️❤️❤️🤩😢😢😭😭
@@SueRosalie The critics must have been jealous of Karen's talent. They were really pathetic people
✨ 💖 Makes me Tear every time ... Such a kool post , Rare !
This is 1,000% pure talent. No supporting tracks, just pure, raw and exquisite talent!
oh Karen.... tears here.. 😪
Cutest drummer that also has The sweetest voice EVER to Grace this universe. Ever. Thank you Karen for sharing your gifts 🌻
Take a good look what an amazing talent look like , that's Karen Carpenter with one of the best Contralto voices ever !!!! ❤️❤️❤️🤩😔😢😢😭😭
Such a voice, and live!! We simply no longer have voices such as hers.
This had to be where they got the saying that 'her voice is as smooth as silk.'

She was born in the year of the Tiger
2022 is the year of the Tiger

She was 22, I was 20 already loving her...
I was born in 1972 and I love Carpenter´s music.

She should have stayed behind the drums. Her voice and beauty are impossible to hid
@@reston81 Yes I think that would have kept her more engaged with the Carpenters project too.
Karen was spreading magic from heaven around right here live...I've never seen anything like that before..Anywhere
the best song and person, voice perfect. missing
what a voice
Being able see her perform LIVE is really incredible!!
Makes me think. of my recently departed wife although the song is about a union ,not death.
If you want to here and Angle sing just listen to this and you have heard it. Karen Carpenter is back in Heaven early because God needed this Angle back to here and enjoy in person. Thank you God for at least leaving us a way to listen to Karen through mechanical means, recordings. :)
There was also an angel.
Song is short but profound....so much meaning in our daily hustling and bustling life.
So sweet! ❤

😇 Pure Angel VOICE
What a classic lady she was
Beautiful inside and out
In her career as a singer, since day one she didn't hit any bad note because she's pitch perfect since the very beginning, even in her sick days till she died... 💕💝💞
I wonder if she ever knew just how she touched the soul...
Somehow I doubt it because her heavenly sound came to her as easily as breathing for everyone else. She never needed to put any effort into it.
She was so beautiful that it was almost painful to gaze upon her.
♥ her. R.I.P.
That voice !!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
RIP angel. Gone to to soon.
Wow. Great production, Richard. I think that this is their most beautiful song.

Interesting her pronunciation of words live, differs from studio recordings.

I sang for 20 plus years full time, as well.
Did she ever hit a bad note?

She felt most comfortable behind the drums. Have you read much about her? Her story is so interesting and tragic. She was a beautiful soul.
