This is the song you play at that time of 0200 through 0500 that pounds out the memories of the past and ends up giving you closure. The imagery is haunting!
This truely was a perfect song for tlou, it gave some sort of energetic music with such a stressful fight, as it slowly faded in and out, truely perfect
I remember the first time booting up The Last Of Us played, for around 15 hours without stopping for a long-ish time and I loved this song. Just started my 34th playthrough. The game is legendary.
It might be debatable, but this is what I think of when I think of real country music. Substance, vivid imagery (that isn’t about beer or tractors), and storytelling. This makes you feel something. It’s not pandering. it’s raw and authentic Not as haunting, but Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson are also great with that. Shout out to The Last of Us for utilizing such good music
Id say Johnny Cash's later albums, as he comes to terms with his nearing death, mourning his wife, and dealing with the regrets in his life. His cover of NIN's Hurt and The Man Comes Around especially.
@@archbishopofthecrusades9579EXACTLY! I actually remember reading somewhere that NIN's lead singer who wrote it said that "when Johnny Cash sings your song, it's not your song anymore. It's his song."
The Last of Us episode 4 brought me here and I must say this show besides its wonderful adaptation so far of game has a wonderful selection of music titles for each episode. I like how this song and the others fit so well with the Last of Us and the story it tells and the state of the world we find all the characters in. Love this show so far as a fan of the games and I can’t wait to see peoples reaction when they do Last of Us 2 and when Joel encounters Abbey … that will be a moment in television history like the Red Wedding. Get ready world to cry your eyes out and some therapy 😢😢😭😭
"Red Wedding"? That's a stretch. One thing I learned in Game of Thrones that can apply to The Last of Us: Don't get too attached to any of the characters.
We met in the springtime when blossoms unfold The pastures were green and the meadows were gold Our love was in flower as summer grew on Her love like the leaves now have withered and gone The roses have faded, there's frost at my door The birds in the morning don't sing anymore The grass in the valley is starting to die And out in the darkness the whippoorwills cry Alone and forsaken by fate and by man Oh Lord, if you hear me, please hold to my hand Oh, please understand Oh, where has she gone to? Oh, where can she be? She may have forsaken some other like me She promised to honor, to love, and obey Each vow was a plaything that she threw away The darkness is falling, the sky has turned gray A hound in the distance is starting to bey I wonder, I wonder what she's thinking of Forsaken, forgotten without any love Alone and forsaken by fate and by man Oh Lord, if you hear me, please hold to my hand Oh, please understand
Hank had a fascination with death. There are at least 3 versions of "Angel of Death," 2 of which have been released. He started having premonitions of his death not long before he died and even told his wife that she wouldn't be seeing "ole Hank" again when he left for his last show.
This song perfectly embodies what is happening in the game. this song is about nature and the imminent death of civilization, this fits perfectly into the last of us 1, I really appreciate Naughty Dog for this talent of music.❤
This song reminds me of another song I can't remember. Its so familiar but subtle, I've never heard this before. Anyone else that maybe knows more than me please help me think of the song before the madness sets in.
I went and listened to the rest of his stuff, and there is no way this way this by him. The rest of his music is more cheerful (yes i get most of his music has sad lyrics, but im just referring to how haunting his voice is, and how slow the guitar is.)
This was released after he died. Recorded towards the end of his life. He was very very lost at the end. Had he lived longer more of his music would've sounded like this.
This Song is a masterpiece🔥🔥 2024 and still rocking. I love country music cause my father loved it and teach me about .. and I feel it is very similar to some Italian music style , you should listen to “FABRIZIO DE ANDRÉ” and “GABRIELLA FERRI” and why not “MANNARINO” and “ILARIA GRAZIANO & FRANCESCO FORNI” Bless up from Italy 🇮🇹 🔥
I was just casually drivin on the highway with my surigate daughter and suddendly some nut head crashed on us with his bus! I mean seriously? We givin licenses to everyone now? Anyways, we were jamming this while it went down and i just kinda connect this song with that. So moral of the story, watch both ways in pittsburg.
@@Richard-pf5xs I agree, but if it was my first time experiencing the series, (which it isn't) and I had to choose between watching someone play the game or watch a TV show that has been extremely well received, I would _personally_ prefer the show. Some people would maybe prefer watching the game, but in my humble opinion, I feel like the majority would prefer to watch the show, especially slightly older audiences, (Ergo people in their late 30s to mid 40s) who most likely wouldn't enjoy watching a gameplay perspective. Also, in response to your first reply to me, there really is no proper or improper way to experience the game, because the TV show and the first game go by the same plot.
Did the show ever show this at least? Because I know they won't show the violence that comes after it.... Which I heard they don't show any of the brutal side of what I have played in the game they toned it down...not saying this is all what the game was about but everyone who played the game will know what I am talking about

She may have forsaken some other like me
She promised to honor, to love, and obey
Each vow was a plaything that she threw away
The darkness is falling, the sky has turned gray
A hound in the distance is starting to bey
I wonder, I wonder what she's thinking of
Forsaken, forgotten without any love
Alone and forsaken by fate and by man
