I suspected this was easily done. I see some small car lots here in Canada with suspiciously low mileage vehicles for sale ALL the time. There may be good reason for it, but they seem to have so many and it's always the same type of car lot.
I prefer to buy cars from the actual owner because few of them are as skilled at lying as professional salesman are and they know the history of the vehicle they are selling. Realtors and car sales professionals are separated from knowing anything about what they are selling other than its looks.
@@cyrusIIIIICarfax is one way to prevent it and see if it's happened in the past. I recommend one with any car purchase anyway. Gives the cats history. Also check the brake and gas pedal for unusual wear and tear if it looks new it's been replaced probably in an attempt to make the car look newer.
hey, I'm looking for an old Ford ranger, and some of the odometer readings are very suspicious on craigslist. I don't want to be a sucka. so my question for you is: are you a mechanic and are you very familiar with this PCM. I'm not a car guy, and can you tell me with certainty that a good mechanic will be able to check this PCM… Is this a very well-known thing? thanks
lol criminals coming here to know how to roll back odometer. Just know there are other ways of finding out odometer has been tampered with such as dealer service records, motor vehicle data for registration whenever car has new owners, visual inspection by qualified mechanic along with carfax . If you get caught you will surely go to jail. everyone wants easy money and never work for anything and hence they get caught and go to jail they cry like a b****.
If it's too good to be true it probably is. Check the pedals for wear used cars for sale with low mileage usually have little wear on the pedals. This is one thing people forget to look for when buying a used car.
I am looking for a used car and I can't tell you how many of them have very low miles way too low. Just found out some cars reset back to 000 after 100000 miles
I need that cause I just put a whole new engine in my car and I need to know how many miles I’ve actually put on it without having to do math I want to see the exact number of miles on the odometer
@@kazss2651 In older cars with cable the odometer and speedometer only works if you drive forwards and if you drive in reverse the odometer actually goes backwards. In modern cars both work even in while in reverse.

On many vehicles it's even simpler; just swap the cluster. Unless it's a one-owner it has a mileage history associated with the title from each transfer. If you were paying 14k for any 07 even two years ago you were an idiot. If you paid 22k you should be locked up in a padded cell.
My cluster died and I got a used one to replace it. The reading was much higher than my original reading. Was told I have to take it to a mechanic to correct.
Very rarely does a vehicle accrue less than 10,000 miles per year so I am always suspicious of people who are selling older low milage vehicles. Another clue is wear patterns on the pedals and driver's seat.
That’s why mileage doesn’t matter for me, if it drives good and is strong I don’t care if it has 500,000 miles. A good vehicle is a good vehicle I have had vehicles that has gone 700k miles still running good and I have had vehicles that transmissions go out at 30,000 miles. Using miles alone to determine if a vehicle is good is just not reliable anymore.
It can be done on any model of car and MOT or services write it down but you can always roll it back so just a little over the last mot so it looks like it hasn’t done that many miles i would say buy a car with a good average of miles every year if one year has 500 miles it could’ve been rolled back
People need to understand that mileage isn't that important. How old the car is matters more. Now, a person can lie about what year a car is, but they can't really change it.

Always multiply 50-70 km/working days....according to first buying date.
It's always like 80 ish the low mileage here in nyc and nj. Weird
How can someone can detect this type of fraud?

Quelle est le nom de la valise qui peut faire ça ? une qui permet de modifier le kilométrage d'une voiture ? et aussi d'ajouter de la puissance ?
Lol change it to 5 miles. $59,999 I know what I got! 😂😂
Sweet! Thanks for info!! Ebay here I come!!

I'm sure if you buy the tool it has instructions to do it

Can you turn it forward to 1 million miles
except the true mileage will always be burned into the PCM, so any real auto shop should be able to tell you the actual mileage.
