23:55 i remember his 100_vs_0 serie 4 years ago, "with all races" where he played 3 first games with NE/orc/HU then 97 with UD, playing tryhard meta every single game, and even when his oppos typed 'gg wp' and started talking he kept microing. I enjoyed it alot.
DotA 2 is actually one of few examples where they used to enforce 50% winrates on players in order to make the game more fun to play for beginners. Because of the high skill ceiling most beginners would lose most of their games and therefore quit after a few days. So in order to prevent this from happening the system would regularly pair them up with better players and against worse players to make sure they won enough games for them to still enjoy the game. Naturally, this would go at the expense of the players in the other team who ended up losing games because of this. That's why back then there were loads of games that were unbelievably one-sided, because this would have a snowball effect throughout the ranks of higher ranked games as well. (Hopefully I won't have to explain why this is) From what I know this does not seem to be the case anymore, but it was quite frustrating back then. Especially because there were no hard resets available for your ELO. The only way to reset was just creating a new account, which is exactly what I did. And guess what, I ended up on a way higher ELO with the new account and managed to stay there, while at the same time not being able to climb on my old account. I even posted my findings with links to my accounts and all of my games in the thread. Most people agreed, though naturally there was the occasional village idiot disagreeing, lol. Oh, and just to be clear, I'm talking about many years ago now. Back when they still tried everything they could to get new players to start playing their game.
@@kyleyjs This was a pretty well known thing back in the day on multiple forums. Lots of people were talking about it, I remember. And like I said, I personally tested it to make sure this was the case. I had to make 2 new accounts and get new ranks on both of them, because I didn't feel like the poorly matched teams were enough proof. After all, that could've just been the result of very bad matchmaking algorithms and bad luck, you know. This was the only way to know for sure. If I remember correctly, both new accounts arrived somewhere around 4400 while the older one was stuck at almost 1000 points lower, which is insane if you think about it. But let me be very clear once more: this was in the early days of dota 2! I'm sure they've changed their MMR system dozens of times in the many years since then.
@@darkaquatus when i used to play 5 years back that was still happening, i observed that as soon as you got to 52% the game would team you with horrible teammates usually with low behaviour score or that are just plain bad untill your win score stoped at around 48%
You know, content wise is a fun experience watching you struggle playing as night elf, the journey can be tough but I think you'll become stronger learning from your own mistakes eventually
I always found hard MMR resets to be quite fun in games other than MMOs. There is a sense of wonder and excitement in playing someone who might be multiple leagues above you. You actually get experience the difference in skill first hand, which usually only happens if you get smurfed on. In MMOs you might want certain gear in the first week(s) and having to grind until your MMR settles back into the appropriate range wastes time you would rather spend on something more productive.
Hi grubby. DR is obviously undead hero and is in the tavern since the 4th hero spot is already taken by CL. Makes sense since in the campaign CL is loyal and DR isnt. Do you think it would be balanced if CL was a tavern hero and DR altar?
"They lost the ability" 😂😂 Btw in the early days it wasnt implemented as well, as far as i can remember. Except for custom maps. For some reasons, fast loading times/ moments of disruption, people were not able to view gamerace ingame, only on the loading screen.
The most amazing part about this video is that... how... *how Grubby won 3 (THREE) games, but **_ONLY 2 (TWO)_** got counted in the lobby scoresheet .. AND NO ONE COMMENTS ON THAT ?? :D* Not even *GRUBBY himself !! xD* .
Thought you'd try to go orc n° 1 again after elf but I guess that'll have to wait until you get to the top with UD. Cool stuff! Edit: out of the normal openings for each race how would you rate them? Like obviously Militia gives you a much quicker advantage than Grunts but would you rate AoW/Skellies higher than Grunt for creeping?
Just wanted to get going with a round again after 10 years, but now it will not even install proberly. Classic is installed but tft does not succeed. @Grubby do you play on classic tft or on reforged just with classic visual?
I remember I got wc3 when I was 11 and wanted to be good with UD and Night Elf, but eventually started playing Orc every game. Warmill +1 into 2 barracks grunt rush with pillage. That became the extent of my wc3 game and I loved it.
its amazing how at his level, he has 0 harassment from human in a fast expand. meanwhile im in noob zone and have them all over my face the entire time im trying to get my expo up
i always think in this game undead was the strongest race but in the same time is the most difficult to play ahah and you what do you think about undead race????
clash royale resets everyone trophies (MMR) every season. but the higher you made it the season before the bigger the win multiplier is. so the good players make it back up quicker reducing the amount of unfair games.
not reseting mmr has other properties though, such as total playtime mmr the majority will keep itself baselined while those who play the most will pull away at inflationary rates. changing the nature of competition, and those that play the most can farm off each other, beating someone once, and then the same guy 50 times, does not equate to better skill than the majority even though beating that same guy 50 times increased the total mmr from the average baseline. resembling elitism, collusion, or nepotism type of systems, since entry to tournaments are gated by mmr hardwork should be rewarded, so a full reset promotes hard work, a soft reset promotes collusion the top of the echelon does well to all know each other, and play with each other constantly and create content with each other constantly and keeping the mmr bar out of reach from any competition that cant commit to full day playing. if you beat 1 person in the ladder when hes = mmr than you, then you climb by 40, and they get -40, if they go off an win 5 games in a row and now have more mmr than you, and then you beat them, you shouldnt get +60 or more mmr. you should get like 1 mmr, and they should get negative mmr equal to their last 5 wins, or some sort of detrimental effect as such. deminishing returns
feeds easy exp agianst some builds. All you need is AOE damage or dispel of some sort, also the necromancers can be weak to being sniped. But its a a strat that can work.
Well! Grubby comment of Elf being OP and needed to be nerf. I thought it would be easy for him to reach RANK 1 BUT now he's on a BREAK from playing ELF.
If you want to be a pro undead you need to get the vibes of the dead. For example. Happy's last name is "Kostin" which could be transtlated from russian as "Bone'ov' (Кости = Bones).
Grubby elf is weak.... Also grubbys absolutely dominate's actually good players people on his level. And still says weak. The grub might be one of the best gamers to ever touch a mouse and key bored.
I'm so happy to see Grubby playing and uploading daily warcraft 3 videos. My all time favorite game.
"Elf is too hard" - that put a smile on my face. I wonder if @FollowGrubby will change his PoV when discussing balance patches.
elf is hardest to master, then orcs, then undead, humans the easiest. @user-wv5ut7hq1q
Yeah, orc is actually overpowered, orc has the best anti Air with bats from entire game
Elf is still the same. Because he's not main he's not capable of saving ancients of war etc.
This is very gratifying since I've been thinking to myself, "I'm not a bad player, elf is just hard" for about 15 years
when I play Elf: "Elf is hard to play, so fragile."
when I play against Elf: "Elf is so OP! Any noob can pick night elf and win!"
He was not the Iron Hand of Justice. The pact is sealed.
He gave up on Night Elf, our promise of infinite content may be ruined.
Honestly I’m glad he took a break with elf
Yea we kinda love orc grubby, not anything else. Maybe human they are funny (and has dwarfs)

soft reset is a neat idea but i'd like it if you can choose -- say every month you get 1 time to choose when the next game will be 2x/5x the value
And then you lose it because of a smurfer.
