Good to hear you have given the burley springs a go Mark they do work a treat don't they, sorry late reply. Thank you for letting me know and watching. Cheers mate
Hi David Hope you are well. Thanks for helping me to keep becoming a better and more successful fisherman. Recently I made some of your berley cages and fished with your recommended paternoster rig west of Ceduna. I used squashed squid for bait and put salted pilchards in the burley sinker. It worked a treat my friend and I had 20 ripper whiting in no time. Thanks for your help yet again. Cheers
Hi Simon, my pleasure mate gee that would have been nice over Ceduna especially catching some nice quality whiting ill bet you and your friend had a ball. Thank you so much for letting me know it is really nice to hear. All the best with your future fishing and I shall try to get out and get another video done for you to watch.. Cheers
Thank you Peter make sure you try these springs like i do for the salmon and other fishing they do work a treat. Thankyou for watching and commenting. Also best of health to you and your family. Cheers.
Hi There, thank you thats nice of you to say. the burley springs do work very well especially the larger ones packed with pilchard for salmon fishing, Snapper etc wherever you are using pilchard for bait, the burley is very good hope you are impressed tight lines to you, also learn how to catch beach worms if you don't now how.
Mate, made my first spring today. That’s awesome man. Would not had the slightest idea without this vid. Thanks again, the bolt was hard to find in that size but managed to find it.
Helloo David. Thank you for showing how to make this Burley. I was having a bit of trouble lately attracting fish. I gave you Burley a shot and guess what? Success my friend. Other Fisher men were asking me what bait I am using. I said I am using Pilchard just like you. Then I showed them my secret weapon. Thank you for doing this video and keep the good work.
I am excited for you Kamaal,so good to hear about your fishing success, thank you for letting me know mate, so happy to hear that the burley spring has helped you with some fishing results I personally include them in most fishing I do. good on you mate. Cheers Kakaal.........David
Thanks Luke! Yes great idea I have always used them since I was shown about 30 years ago, and used with certain fishing they definitely work a treat making a big difference in the amount of fish you catch. Thank for your comment mate.
Brilliant mate, I was trying to find these for sale in the local fishing shops in Hobart but no luck. I remember using them as a kid growing up in SA. I'll be heading down to the hardware shop to day with my son and we'll be making some up today. Much appreciated for another great fishing tip. 👍
Hi David, will be trying these for sure. I make a little jewelry as a hobby, so I have idea's to make it even easier. I have revamped an old UA-cam channel that I had for metal detecting, jewelry, gold prospecting and other hobbies. I will be putting up a few fishing video's in future but am no expert fisherman by any means. So I will be watching your video's with interest and learning what I can. Oh and I live close by I think. at the mouth of the Murray.
Hi John, glad you enjoy my videos thank you. The burley springs are good especially the larger ones, because you can't buy them, they work a treat with pilchard squeezed into them. They do bend out of shape sometimes but that doesn't bother me. Thanks again mate
Wish i'd checked out this video before I'd bought some carp feeder springs, but hey it was only £2.75 gbp for 5 so it didn't break the bank. Thanks also for your milk bottle holders, using both of these ideas now, but I have credited them to you on my youtube channel. Thanks mate.
Glad to hear you have found the springs and milk bottle useful. They are very handy especially when you need one or the other, you just make one. thanks for your comment mate.
Glad to hear you have found the springs and milk bottle useful. They are very handy especially when you need one or the other, you just make one. thanks for your comment mate.
Great tips David. I’ve started making and using these off the beach and the results are definitely better even when no one else is catching fish. Looking forward to your next vid Cheers 👍
Hi Matt thanks mate, good to hear you are having success using the burley springs they do work a treat a lot of the time. Next video not to far away, time is starting to become more available now " Winter is coming" ha quote from the game of thrones....Cheers David

G'day Garry. Good idea on the burly springs mate. All the best on your fishing holiday, there is a camp site and caravan site on the way down to Cape Jervis and some good fishing down at the jetty and Morgans beach its shallow rocky in parts but good for salmon late afternoon and early morning sometimes. There is also a place at Normanville not far away. Heading south towards Victor Harbour there are 2 beaches Waitpinga beach and parsons at the back of Waitpinga beach there is a camp site you may like that one, nice and quiet and in the bush check out my uther vids. Hope this helps Cheers David
Hi Dave How good is that, just when I was going to buy some you have saved the day... Will be making a few tomorrow and then off mullet fishing at Southport tomorrow
A small burley spring will be best under a float with my burley down there also tide running out towards wirrina is the best side for gar and tommies, squid can be caught any where on the jetty and the rocks are good for everything, snook can also be caught from the jetty and rocks there maybe yellowfin whiting of the beach also mullet. Have a look at the rock archway to the right of the beach its nice along there.
@@davidsheldonfishing9726 cant wait to get down there and hopefully get a few of everything. Mever fished for snook before but i have some small soft plastics so i cant wait to tey this also, how fast do you recommend to reel in and retrieve for the snook? Slow, medium, fast, or try all types until i get a hit. I know she is gone be chock-o-block down there..
@@davidsheldonfishing9726 i was hoping to get down to my local beach for some beach worms before we went to second valley but i dont think i will get time. Can i get beach worms from the beach at 2nd valley?
hi Darren my fave lures are the magnet weighted hard bodied shallow dive in pilchard or mackerel pattern around 5cm long they cast really well on light tackle soft plastics also work well and use a slow retrieve when the sun is low in the sky is snook time. good fishing mate.
Cheers mate once again thanks for the info btw are earthworms any good for yellow fin whiting just wondering as me and my dad are thinking of doing some wading at Thompson’s beach during summertime
Hi Tristan, no worries happy to help. Earth worms aren't the best but MIGHT catch a few yellow fins if there are a lot of fish competing for food plus it would be best to keep your bait moving all the time. My advise would be find a beach down your way where there are beach worms before summer, that can be part of learning to find them , and when the weather starts warming start learning how to catch them. In the winter time your fingers will get cold and make it harder to learn. Also buy a bait pump and pump any holes in the sand and sand shaped like tooth paste next to holes and you might find some pink nippers [ bass yabbies]or other species of worms, around low tide reefy areas are good to look. Plus looking under rotting sea weed at the high tide line you may find some sea weed worms they are similar to earth worms. Hope this helps all the best to you and your dad.
G'day mate, thank you so much for your comment very much appreciated, I have had a couple of requests for making sinkers I shall get that done for you guys. Cheers David.
Hi Hanoi. With a paternoster fishing rig you can fix you burley spring and sinker on the bottom without a swivel if you like, but I would recommend having a swivel above your hooks to reduce line twist. I use the cheaper brass swivels and they have never let me down.
Hi Dave, thanks, the tackle shops here in Melbourne don't seem to stock these so I made a few. Just a question, if you get a big fish on will the wire through the center come undone? Loving your videos, very peaceful watching.
Hi Davo, sorry late reply. You might be able to find the small brass burley springs at the shop they are good for bread crumb burley, these ones being a bit bigger arn't available so we have to make them they are great for squeezing pilchard into. The centre wire will be fine with a bigger fish on if you like when you make them you could firmly squeeze the wire around the centre wire just to give yourself a bit more confidence with a bigger fish on but it should be fine. Thank you for your comment...Cheers David.
@@davidsheldonfishing9726 Hi David, thanks for your reply. When I actually thought it through I realised you would only lose your sinker if the wire gave way. Thanks for the tip though. Here is a good tool to help with wire turning I use on the farm. www.fmb.com.au/wire-twist-tool-bag-of-2.html
