This was much needed !! I wish we could set variable decay rate based on short or long key presses when playing/tapping out beats on the usb controller keyboard??????
Ohhh bro i'm absolutely amazed at this. I won't lie, at the beginning i was a little like, ohhh that doesn't sound right but i'm glad i stood till the end cause that was🔥love it. Quite unusual sounds but that's also what's great about it, great prod and vibe. Thanks for sharing your skill & tips. Stay bless🤙🏾
looks like this is the only video that's up to date. Im curious if there is a plugin or other ways I don't know about. Even though this is about all you need in logic. thanks Sean!
I MusicLuv ur teaching methods. Can you please make a video on the (WHY) you do certain things for clarity ,for us not as up on the digital game. Thanks a Platinum. The SC.
Hi Sean, wish you were my blood brother. Love your video's as they help me a lot. Could I use these drum samples to create a sample pack of midi/audio for public sale, or would there be a copyrights infringement?
both sound great, clean and neutral. pro q3 does have a natural phase mode that has a vintage character to it. Difference mostly comes down to gui / price.
Whats up bro I was wondering which company do you recommend slate digital or waves? The problem is I love waves but the down side is that u have to pay every time they do a upgrade on the plugins, so I was thinking do u think is better to go with slate or waves?
I've been using Waves since I started mixing, lots of their plugins are go-to's that land in every session. I have a few Slate plugins and they're cool... Waves has a subscription model now too... try out the demos, see what you vibe with 👍
Hey! So kinda a gain staging question for ya. When I import samples into logic from splice or drumkits I've purchased, they obviously seem to clip my master as soon as I have a basic drum pattern laid out. And one thing I've started experimenting with is selecting all of my regions and normalizing them all to -18 db which obviously gives me alot of headroom. But after mixing my session I usually have to add 7+ db through say logics adaptive limiter just to get it to even hit like -3 or -2 on my master and I just didn't know if it would be best to just pull faders down when I'm mixing or to change the actual "clip gain" on my samples as well. Sorry if this message sounds kinda confusing but I would like to hear your input on this :) thanks!
Hey, my approach to gain staging is a bit different than most... in this case specifically, the samples are likely already maximized so I’d simply mix the drum bus into a brickwall limiter with the ceiling set to below 0 tp. Get the drum levels where you want them and then mix everything else accordingly.
THIS!! is a SOLID tutorial!! Needed this, Sean! Thx again for takin the time.
My pleasure Frank, glad it helped 🙌
Cheers dude. Great fun following you !
Awesome Video! Never thought about using the triplet quantization on the hi-hats. Smart

Probably better than searching endlessly through a bunch of sound sample pack websites.
I think Logic X is going crazy now. There is so much user content available now it is just crazy.
This man is the 🐐
great things learning from you! GEM!
Awesome stuff bro

🙏 more on the way :)
Can you do a similar video where you use Waves plugins? that would be dope
1luv
Handsome Maker !!!
Great content as usual bro , Can I ask , Do you know if there is a difference In sound between pro q3 and wave f6? as In colour?
no, there is not. both eq’s are very much neutral but if i were to suggest one, it would be the pro q3. it’s godly

I love this video but I’m having trouble getting the samples to bounce and show up in the folder to add to drum machine
Do you ever insert a Drum Synth straight into DMD, or is there a reason why you sample you drum synth first?
Humbly, Ylan
Is this available in order daws? Love the video
Thanks. I’m sure there are other daws that have a similar plugin. Drum Synth is exclusive to logic.
Wow, you can do all of that very quickly inside Reason!
How are ur effects organized the way they are? All your stock plugins are at the bottom under "logic", how did u customize this??
There’s a Plug In Manager setting in logic. You can make all kinds of cool
folders like “808 Plugins” or “Tape Machines”.

I use pre fader metering. The instrument itself could be clipping.
Does ableton have this?
Thank you very much for this video
May the LORD bless you and keep you safe in Jesus name
Yes, drums are cool to design, bur for kicks and stuff u need a space to hear what u are doing
First on coment, LOL
