- Part 4 of our look at the Black Sabbath discography has Brent, Brian, and Sabbath super-fan Travis sharing their overall, final rankings of the Sabbath catalog. After three previous episodes where they divided the Sabbath albums into eras, they aggregated their data from their rankings for an average for each album, and created a master ranking of the catalog. This process produced some real surprises - and likely a result or two that even THEY might argue with!

I have watched all of your Sabbath episodes. What a contrarian list, I like that. In my opinion there is only 2 real clunkers in the entire catalogue; “13” and “the Devil you know”.
So the rest is really hard to rank. Mob rules and Sabotage would probably compete for the number 1 spot. Funny that vol 4 got the last spot. Many people rank it as a top 5 but I think it’s the least good from the classic era.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, these albums are very hard to rank considering how much change has occurred under the Sabbath name. Interesting that you don't count Forbidden as one of the clunkers! Obviously that usually gets most negative response. Personally, though I rated it near the bottom, I'd still spin Forbidden more often than I would Vol. 4!
Forbidden is really underrated. My first Sabbath vinyl was 13th star When it came out. I was really into Ozzy solowork back then and my real gateway to Sabbath was Speak of the devil. Great live record. I like your in depth show. Saw your Rush shows and gonna watch the Mighty BÖC ranking next. Keep it up😀
@@niklasgustavsson5773 Thanks, we really appreciate the feedback! I do pull Forbidden out every so often and though it doesn't rank high for me, it has a certain charm to it. And yeah, Speak of the Devil is a great live record. Comparing Speak of the Devil and Live Evil would be interesting!
